New Atkinos: Preparations, Part 2

A tour of New Atkinos Island shows a huge volcanic crater on the eastern end of the island. Part of the slope had collapsed into the water, leaving a watery crescent-shaped bay surrounded by steep cliffs. The flat plains to the west, home of the original shipwreck survivors, seem to be the best place for a permanent settlement. The island has been circumnavigated by noted explorer and celebrity gourmand, Admiral Hestorb. Let's track her findings from her personal yacht, the Extra Helping.

The habitable part of the island sits, quite literally, in the shadow of the tall volcanic cone on the east end of the island. Needless to say, the rich volcanic soil is quite fertile.

The Extra Helping can be seen in this view of the bay. It may become known as Admiral Bay. Or, Bay of Hestorb. We'll see...

A closer view of the steep cliffs that line the bay. There seem to be a good number of small hot springs on the slopes. I wonder if that is significant...

Something which could blow off the side of a mountain must have been impressive... wonder if it could happen again...

With shipwreck survivors on the ground and clear transit routes to the rest of the nation, New Atkinos is on the fast track toward colonization.

Haha, nice name for Admiral Hestorb's yacht! I think it describes her pretty well.

I can almost see how nice New Atkinos will look like after its colonized. All of the features of the island seem like they can be utilized well. Since the soil is fertile, the process of growing produce would seem quite simple. I know I would not be reluctant at all to start living there!

You know what. Something begins to worry me about that old volcano, Does anyone smell a La Palma like disaster waiting to happen if the volcano keeps deteriorating. Just a thought?

I'm amazed on how your CJ has grown to by my friend. I've been off for about almost a year now and yet here you are, you won the Trixies twice and yeah, I still like this CJ very much. look at the page man, 210 pages. I'm sorry, I'm just too... amused. I still hope you remember me a bit. I always make it a point that I visit your CJ when I get the chance to check your CJ... New Atkinos seems quite fruitful... Maybe in future it's citizens will enjoy the free and non-polluting geothermal energy...

The cats will probably appreciate warm radiators...

Maybe they will build public cat-warmers. All it needs is a nice hot spring, couple of meters coiled copper pipe , a large flat stone above it and, Presto!!  Extra benefit would be running hot water for Schulminions...
