Regional Postal Issues #1

Each of the regions of Schulmania has now started to use postage stamps for mail both inside the region and nationwide. In this update, we will review the issues of two regions and of the Bureau of Feline Affairs, which operates in all parts of Schulmania and handles all feline business. The current postage rates are: small letter -1 purr, large letter/small package - 2 purrs, large package - 3 purrs. Each design features something unique about the region.

Hello, my dear Schulmanator.

It is so nice to get your latest updates.  I always enjoy reading about the latest news from Schulmania.  Before I get your updates, I would like to chat with you concerning some recent events.

I wish to inform you that I have put in place an Inner Council to help guide VAN Enterprises and our day-to-day operations.  I found that creation of the council was necessary as I am having increasing difficulty in being "everywhere at once" as well as being "everything for everybody".  Consequently, going forward, the council has my full support and backing and, when conducting business, speak directly for me and my interests.  Please ensure that the appropriate Schulmanian Governments and Business Associates are aware of this development.  I, myself, will ensure this as well but, as you well know, it never hurts to have another well placed source "fronting" for you.

Let me introduce to you the members of VAN Enterprises' Inner Council.  There is Marcus, my accountant and financial advisor.  There is Rudolph, head of marketing.  There is Wilson, head of supply and logistics.  There is Yochi, head of...  let's just say that Yochi ensures that VAN Enterprises interests are well represented in all districts as well as shown the proper respect in those districts.  Finally, there is Gustav, my new head of security.

It is this final member of my council on which I will bring my opening remarks to a close.  I wish to offer you my most sincere apologies concerning the unpleasant business that transpired with my former head of security in Schulmanicus.  Please rest assured that this traitor will not bother Schulmania or Schulmanicus again.  He has been terminated from his position and Yochi has assured me he will never bother anyone ever again.

Now, let's move on to more pleasant business, shall we?  Thank you for sending me a copy of the latest Devonshire Digest.  It is always a pleasure to receive the digest and is always a good read.  This latest copy is no exception to that rule.

It is with great interest that I read about Liver Spring's incorporation.  It is always a pleasure to see the frontier being tamed and the town growing into a strong community.  I have taken the liberty of asking Rudolph and Wilson to set up a meeting with Princess Shelby and Mayor Sarabelle Horne in order to determine how best VAN Enterprises can benefit Liver Springs.  (Of course, they will also explore how best Liver Springs will benefit VAN Enterprises -- that is part of our business, is it not?)

I trust you understand why I decided to pull out all of VAN Enterprises' interests in New Atkinos.  I simply cannot take the chance that my interests may come to harm in light of the unstableness of the region.  I have seen this type of phenomenon before and I can tell you, dear Schulmanator, nothing good comes out of it.

Please convey my congratulations to Governor Eula Bird on establishing Schulmania’s first port on the new salt ocean.  This is quite an accomplishment.  Again, I have taken the liberty of asking Rudolph and Wilson to set up a meeting with Governor Bird to discuss the pending fishing fleet and ensuring that it is properly outfitted when it set sail.  Further, I have asked these gentlemen to chat with the Governor concerning setting up a retail store in order to provide goods and services that can be used by the fishing fleet as well as to provide building supplies (both the repairs and new construction) for the surrounding outpost.  This appears to me to be a very sound business proposition from which both the Governor and VAN Enterprises can realize benefits and profit.

But, like when I learned to use a word processor... after a while, you have made every mistake possible, and eventually there's none left to make and you get it right. Lol! [shudders, remembering the angst of trying to figure out MS Works...]
