Hey, I posted quite a bit in this CJ, I guess. 49, was it? Does that make this 50!? Wow.

It'd be pretty ironic for thousands to flood to New Atkinos and the surrounding area, only to find they should have invented seismology before colonizing. Judgin by the angle of the volcano in relation to the island and the randomness of SC4's volcanoes it will likely wipe out half the island and send huge earthquakes hurtling through Schulmania.

On the positive side though, they might find the island isolated and uninhabited!

Happy Days?  Happy Days??  abcvs,  you are quite possibly the most sinister man in these forums.  Despite missing the first decade of reruns, I nevertheless saw each and every one of these shows on cable in the 80s.  Thus, I will strike back.

With The Brady Bunch.

No fancy pictures from me, though!

By the way, I wonder how the colonization of Atkinos Island goes...

*EDIT* changed "Atkinson" to the correct "Atkinos."

    New Atkinos: The Forbidden Coast

Every town has a nickname. New Atkinos (sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce) selected “The Forbidden Coast” as the town’s alter ego. Why? Considering its beginning as terra incognita and the difficulty in finding the place and the efforts needed to clear transit routes to safely reach the island, it seems appropriate. In this first update of the developed island, we will explore the coast which gave the town its “forbidden” name. Extensive development of the shoreline has made it truly a water-oriented town. And, in a first for Schulmania, humanoid Schulminions have been, as the island’s original settlers, grated the right to select a mayor of their own choosing. The resulting government for the island is known as the Commonwealth of New Atkinos. The Commonwealth is administered by a council of humanoid Schulminions who report to the Supreme Wirdle.

    coast3wh0.jpg
Development runs right up to the shore. This is the northwestern corner of town, Roanoke Point. At left is the pineapple farm of Ananas Pina. The building at the bottom of the image is Casa Wayne.

    coast2br8.jpg
A combination of cozy homes and businesses support the locals and a burgeoning tourism industry.

    coast8wx8.jpg
From a different angle, one can see the highly developed nature of the shoreline. At the left is Casa Carol. At right, Schulmericho Plaza.

    coast10ku7.jpg
Casa Wayne, looking toward the northern coastline.

    coast16sf5.jpg
This part of the northern coast is near the ferry port, the essential link to the rest of Schulmania.

    coast9nj1.jpg
Just a short distance from this neighborhood is the Lambert Inn (far right), which sits adjacent to the ferry port and is perfectly situated for the weary boat traveler.

The ferry port has daily departures to every port in the nation. There are 4 daily departures to the main cities: Schulmericho, Gran Maru, Darkel by the Sea, Atkinos, Schulmanidad and Busscastle. There is one daily departure to Wanda, Stell, Temple Terrace and Babalonia. There have been some complaints about the uninspired ferry architecture. The lowest bidder on the national ferry design project was Maxis D. Fault. The resulting “Maxis Style” has not won any design awards.

    coast5vr1.jpg
The uninspired Maxis-designed ferry is the “Gateway to the Forbidden Coast” and features the same indistinct design as the other ferry ports. Luckily, it has a nice inn adjacent to it and an eatery with a great observation deck. Carol’s Biscuitorium features the best biscuits this side of Devonshire!

The western coast is also highly developed, though it does not have a port. The town actually faces the west, as it was oriented the City Planning Office to maximize usable land. Where the land slopes gently to the sea, fine beaches have been developed. In steeper areas, rocks and plants continue to exude their usual rocky and planty goodness. The goal of city planners was to develop a beachfront which would rival Risa Beach as a destination. See for yourself what they accomplished.

    coast1hk2.jpg
The Marina Sirtis is expected to be a big draw for tourists and locals alike. A promenade along the beach overlooks the tranquil pier. Enterprising young Deanna Troi rents out rowboats at the end of the pier and her friend Tam Elbram sells concessions.

    coast15vh4.jpg
A better view of the marina. Have you ever wondered why all of the beach towels are blue? Me too… maybe there was a big sale on blue towels. Everyone seems to have a picnic basket. Now to raid one for a nice sandwich!

    coast12zh6.jpg
A closer view of the beachfront statue. Feel free to drop a coin in and make a wish.

    coast11au6.jpg
One side of the promenade is steep and rocky, allowing for great views for the town.

    coast14zh1.jpg
The other side is prime beachfront and bustling commerce. Hmm, there must have been a sale on red kites as well.

    coast6yz3.jpg
Just think, if the Forbidden Coast is this inviting, it won’t stay forbidden for long!

Wow, that is one inviting place. I definitely agree that it won't stay "forbidden" much longer.

By the way, did you notice that there are also planters around the base of every palm tree? There must have been a sale on those as well... The Forbidden Coast's stores must have some savvy managers.

Now to get me one of those there pic-a-nic baskets!

Great work with the scenery, the beaches are great! Although the paths to the beach do rather look more like slides... ah well... more fun for the people I suppose!

Looks Mediterranean-ish, and I'm always a fan of nice beaches. Good stuff!

Let no one yield, we're on the field where deeds eclipse the sun; where the brave are told on a thread of gold, the tapestry is spun. As they speak of dreams, their armor gleams, this calm before the storm... Where all can see their destiny, the bishop takes the pawn.

Wow! My 250th set of replies!

Joetropian1 Luckily for them, I am not planning for any major earthquakes. Eruptions... that possibility is still on!

Abcvs The Fo0nz is cool! Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey!

lindsay-akihita-aomori Thank you! I am glad you like it and welcome to Schulmania.

NMUSpidey Brady Bunch... you're close to the edge... if you were to invoke something like, say, The Partridge Family, the gloves would be off!

    Jacqulina lol... or, jeers!

Hester See response to Spidey and start humming!

    cleaner475 Thanks, Richard.

Benedict Thanks. Glad you liked it.

NMUSpidey No sale on planters... the groundskeeper, Mr.Boothby, is very diligent.

Smarty218 Slides? No! For those of us who have been fortunate enough not to have been born on flat land, that's just the way the land is supposed to be!

KingTitan It would make a nice vacation spot. Watch out, Gabry!

gabry85 Luckily for you, there's other stuff here than just beach... and they are fairly far apart from one another. But, a little healthy competition for tourists is always good.

    Leech10 Bargains are always nice!

Csgcseri I do need another real estate sale, don't I?

Callbat Thanks! It is not very forbidding, but the name is pretty good.

Manticorefan Thanks. That's sort of the look I was going for.

anarchy0029 Thanks. Glad you like it.

Giligone Now THAT would be a fitting consequence!

suplado! Thanks! More of the context of the beachfront will be shown next.

Bakercity Thanks. So, they are gonna bronze the fonz?

    patriots_1228 lol. They do, actually!
