Oooh, I can't wait for the update, the Supreme Wirdle's home must be absolutely magnificent...

BTW, yesterday, I came to Simtropolis and forgot to check the site, that was the first time I've checked ST without visiting Schulmania, sorry, i was caught up in reading ENOCHIA and had to leave.

I wonder if Supreme Wirdle would allow industrialization, it would come around, what, 1850s, there wouldn't really be high-tech until the 1900s. Do Shulmanians use windmills? They were used since the 1500s in Holland I think.

    Schulmanicus: Wirtyplace and Environs

    schulmanicusmastheadbz2.jpg

Let's examine the commercial and political heart of old Wirt. In this update, we examine Wirtyplace and its plaza, home of the Supreme Wirdle and governmental center of the known world. We also see the commercial district and buildings converted to use as government offices. In the next update, we will see how Schulmania responds to the burgeoning government and its need for space in a small town.

    b1tq2.jpg

Wirtyplace, the heart of town and of the realm, is at the lower left. One of her favorite restaurants, the Supreme Salmon, is right across the street (the one with the outdoor canopies over the seating areas). Upstairs from the restaurant is the headquarters for the national agriculture office. That is, until a new facility can be built.

    b2le0.jpg

Oak Ridge Road rides along the ridge upon which Wirt sits. Many fine stores are on the left side of the road and homes on the right side.

    orr4wg0.jpg

Oak Ridge Road, as viewed from the roof of Wirtyplace.

    b4ar6.jpg

Oak Ridge Road ends and Tenne Street begins.

    b3eo3.jpg

The Café Fancy Feast is close to Wirtyplace as well and has a chef on call 24/7 for her needs. Various government offices occupy the upper floors of local businesses. That is, until a new facility can be built.

    b6ns5.jpg

The bustling town now has over 7,000 inhabitants. Expansion is sure to happen, unless new towns can take some of the government jobs descending upon Wirt.

    b7eg5.jpg

The intersection of Regal Street and Glenwood Street.

    b8vr8.jpg

Regal Street, which runs to Wirtyplace.

    wp1sa3.jpg

Wirtyplace, the center of Schulmania. Rather unassuming for the home of a supreme leader, isn't it? But, it was leading edge architecture when it was built millennia ago.

    wp2au3.jpg

National Plaza sits in front of Wirtyplace. It is one of the few spots where the original ancient cobblestone remains. As the roads have been maintained and upgraded, the oldest stones have been brought here to restore and preserve this part of Schulmania's heritage.

    wpchurch1ak1.jpg

Wirtyplace (top), National Plaza (middle) and the national church (bottom). All are in close proximity, as is common in ancient towns. This view looks up Schulmanicus Road.

The Supreme Wirdle thanks you for coming by. Would you care to join her for dinner at the Supreme Salmon? Today's special: chopped sardine and tuna stuffed in salmon and served with tuna juice and a salad made of Tartar Control Pounce.

Wow, that town looks amazing. Wirtyplace is looking really great for something 1000 years old.

Can't wait for the next update.

Oh yes, I I'll be there for the Diner with her Wirtiness. (That is how you say it, right?)

Wirtyplace looks really nice! I liked the diagonal layout at the side of town. The National Plaza is great. I liked the flag right in front of TSW's home. That dinner sounds pretty good! I think I'll join her.

    Keep up the good work!

I love the use of rural retaining walls as streets - it looks authenic to reality. The stones look purr-fect for little cat paws to walk on. 3.gif

Bakercity It should be pretty cool. But, I have already seen t on the small screen many a time, myself. But, only 13 months left to wait for the Big One!

Hester The residence is shown in full detail now.

bbfan02 Thanks. Hope you like it.

Zelgadis Customer service is #1 here in Schulmania. Would you like to supersize that Update for only 49 cents more?

suplado! Actually, it was grand when it was built ~2600 years ago. Now, it is a bit cramped. No wonder her subjects wanted to build her a new place.

John94538 Enjoy our new flavor of eyecandy... now 25% fewer calories - same great taste!

John94538 Now THAT is a way to take care of post bugs!

Jacqulina She will be waiting for a warm lap... it's getting chilly in Wirt this time of year!

Asturianu Yes! You are back at last! We have missed you here! Come back when you can. You are always welcome in Schulmania - and Hester has been busy moodily wandering the streets of Georgetown with a sullen, forlorn look in her eyes - she has no one to play her tuba with. And she wants your half of the mortgage payment too!

sc4portugal I make mine in Power Point then save the slides to .jpg files. I know there are better ways, but I am not proficient in them. PP gets the job done.

gabry85 I love those angular roads. That's the look I was going for but can't do in square tiles! And those buildings at all sorts of angles - good good good stuff!

Joetropian1 There is some industrialization, but not in the heavy factory sense. The progression in the timeline is not directly the same as for people. Cats, being smarter than people, have always had a higher standard of living. Actually, the compressed timeline also has to do with the lack of really old SC4 custom content. So, we moved right along. But, I am trying to keep it as historic as I can. It will be a long time before factory-looking factories arrive. Right now, the industrial buildings, almost all of which are MBEAR Mediterranean, don't look industrial and are referred to as craft shops or trade guild works. A good example of this is Schulmanidad, which has the most industry in Schulmania as of now. Oh, as for windmills... no one thought of them yet!

suplado! Yep! That's her home and the capital of the nation. Kinda small, but it gets the job done!

Explodingsims Thanks! And, she may be referred to as Her Wirtiness (she rather likes that). She is also referred to as Her Supremacy and Her Smightyness (Supreme+Mighty).

ky72x You are welcome to come by the Royal Table over at the restaurant. Be sure to try the Tuna Pounce - it comes highly recommended!

John94538 Thanks! I really like the effect of these much better. More cobbly. And also allows for diagonals. I am glad you like it too.

Hester Quick! Grab your house mate before he runs off and then come on by. She'll be curled up on a chair in the lobby awaiting her dinner guests.

    bbfan02 Thanks! Glad you like

Glad you like my BG pictures! I know it's frustrating with a grid system, but you do an outstanding work nonetheless! I didn't stop purring when you show them from the beginning! 2.gif

    And now...

...let's start petting the Supreme Wirdle, then give her a big wool ball and finally reward her with many many many yummy treats! Meow! 3.gif

I have to say I expected something more grand. But it's very good that the Wirdle has such a nice, humble abode. Carpathians and Nekominzoku are far more extravagent. 9.gif

I truly apologize for not posting in this CJ before, I have popped in a few times to see what was going on , and must say that this is one of the most creative and entertaining things I have seen! Your choice and selection of content is only matched by your unending supply of feline pictures and a very good sense of humor. I haven't followed every development in Schulmania , but it seems to be a very interesting place to live , and thank you for sharing this with us!
