A Sim_Idiot Production

Welcome to my city journal, well, city story rather.  No doubt you've seen my Eternia terraforming journal... What? You havent? Well go check it out HERE .  This story takes place there.
Now I cant say Im the best story teller around, or even a moderately good one, or even... well you get the point. I just wanted to do something special with the wonderful map I created, and this is the result. I hope everyone likes the story and enjoys watching the cities grow.
Thank you for checking it out and make sure to say hi when you visit!

<ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/addinfo.jpg>
For the most curious among us.

Special note : Eternia is also being hosted on my website.  Any images I have created for the city journal have backgrounds to match the website.  As you no doubt have guessed, all the images are being hosted on my site.

<ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/modstitle.jpg>

Everyone is always interested in what mods you are using in your cities so here is a list of the ones currently in use in Eternia.

<ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/XSTmods.jpg>

<ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/cheatstitle.jpg>

Another popular question seems to be : What cheats do you use for your cities?  I do use a few with Eternia, most are hardly considered cheats though.  This is the list of ones I commonly use.

<ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/XSTcheats.jpg>

<ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/silotstitle.jpg>

Here is a section containing lots you will see in the story that were created by me.

<ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/XSTlots.jpg>

If you think any other information should be included here please let me know.

Notes :

Of course the most important note is that chapter 1 will be posted later this afternoon.

Also, because the story is written ten chapters in advance, does not mean it will be coming out all at once.  I am attempting to always stay several chapters ahead of myself so I can take my time with Eternia.

Something I would like to ask is that if you see an obvious spelling, grammar, punctuation error in the story, please let me know.
This would apply to holes in the plot of the story, or places you feel more information would be appropriate.

I will try to respond to everyones questions and feedback, but please realize that this story is already written ten chapters ahead of what you are seeing.  I would like to discourage any posts of what should happen with the story because of that.  If you really feel you have a great idea for a plot twist or something and want to let me know, please do so via pm.  I must admit that after all the things that I have done in these ten chapters, Im lacking on ideas at the moment.

I really hope everyone enjoys Eternia,  Its on its way!

    <ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/chapter1/Chapter1title.jpg>

    Out on the furthest edges of the universe is a place knows as the Arcadia Galaxy. This galaxy is full of intelligent life forms, many of which have advanced technology that allows them to travel throughout the universe. On the Arcadian Homeworld an effort is underway to find and study any type of life in the universe.

    <ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/chapter1/ArcadiaHomeworld.jpg>

    Of course, the universe is vast and it will take many scientists and researchers centuries to catalogue everything they find. Fortunately the pay is extremely well and there are plenty of people willing to go on these missions, even if it means being away for several decades. When life forms were detected on the planet Elicoor, out on the far side of the Kalium Galaxy, two top level scientists were sent right away.

    <ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/chapter1/Scientists.jpg>

    Little did they know that the life forms were an intelligent race of humanoids. That alone added at least twenty years onto their expedition. The life forms were primitive in the fact that they had no advanced technology. This meant they had to remain in orbit and study the planet from above. The population of the planet was relatively low and the people lived sporadically across it. They were intelligent, however they lacked motivation and still lived in conditions that they should have evolved past by now. The whole population seemed to be incredibly lazy. After 37 years of researching the planet and studying the population, they began to prepare for the journey home with their findings. That's where we begin our story...

    <ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/chapter1/SpaceOrbit.jpg>

          Maria was looking out the window, down at Elicoor Even though I'm anxious to get home, I sure will miss this planet.
          Hmph... I just cant wait to be out of here. Were going to have one fat check waiting for us having been gone this long.
          Maria came back to her seat. Its all about the money for you isn't it Cliff.
          Yup. It was more exciting in the beginning, but weve been out here for 37 years!
          The computer alert sounded : ! Volcanic event beginning in sector 65-A !
          Oh interesting. That volcano we've been watching recently looks like it might finally erupt.
          Cliff pulled up the information on the monitor. The planet wants to see us off. Lets swing down by the volcano on the way out. This is one thing Id like to see.
          Id rather watch it from the screen, if anyone found out we went down near the surface we'd be in serious trouble.
          Bah, come on, have some fun. Were on the outer edge of the galaxy here, not to mention that volcano is in an uninhabited area. Come on have some fun Maria.
          Oh all right. I guess it wouldn't hurt. Just keep us back a ways, these are really unpredictable readings the volcano is giving right now.
          With that Cliff took control of the ship and started the descent into the atmosphere...

          We're nearing the volcano.

    <ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/chapter1/RegionView.jpg>

          That doesn't look like much of an eruption to me, just some steam. Cliff sounded disappointed.

    <ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/chapter1/volcano1.jpg>

           From the readings I'm getting there is a lot of pressure building down there. This thing could blow at any moment, we shouldn't be this close.  Maria warned.
          Well if it starts to get nasty ill take us higher. Its just steaming right now. This ship can.... oh wait.... look at that! Here we go!
          Maria looked over Get us away now!
          The ship can withstand the heat no problem. This is a once in a lifetime...
          With a deafening roar, the sky went dark and the ship swayed violently.

    <ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/chapter1/volcano.jpg>

          Red lights came on across all the computer screens. ! Red Alert ! The computer screamed at them over and over.
          Damn it Cliff, look what you've done. You were way too close, that rock that hit us must have been 80ft around. It looks like it hit the lower right deck and damaged the engine. We need to get back into orbit asap so we can fix it!
          Cliff was frantically pressing buttons on the console. I'm working on it, shut up and let me concentrate.
          The ship began making loud groaning noises as it strained to follow Cliffs commands.
          Were losing power... were not going to break the atmosphere. Maria whispered. She couldn't believe what was happening.
          We will make it... strap yourself in.
          We can't make it, were going to crash. After all our decades of long work, it all ends like this. All because of your...
          Just as they were about to break the atmosphere, there was a loud thud on the lower deck and ship began to tilt back toward the surface. Shut up and hold on! Were going to crash, Ill try and keep us in one piece.

    This looks like it's going to be great! If it's even half as good as your terraforming is it will be a must see.

    <ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/chapter2/chapter2title.jpg>

           It was already past noon, he was going to be late again.
           He wondered would it even matter? Its not like it was important.
           It would just be an excuse for them to yell at him.
           He stopped running.
           They met there almost every day to chat and pass the time. It had become a routine thing, mostly since there wasn't anything else to do around the island.
           Often he lost track of time when he went to the library, he spent most of his time there. He loved learning new things, he hungered for knowledge. He had read nearly every book in the library. There probably wasn't anyone smarter around, although no one really had the desire to be.
           He was almost to the top of the hill.
           The tower came into view between the trees.

    <ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/chapter2/RasheansTower.jpg>

          Keele! Your late again, get up here! Reid yelled.
          Sorry! Be right there!       Keele climbed up the tower to meet his friends.

    <ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/chapter2/3friends.JPG>

           Farah was glaring at him as he made it up to the top. It's about time. she said.
           Reid was leaning over the edge watching the ocean.
           Keele was finally able to catch his breath. I'm sorry, I was reading a new book I found. It was about...
           Reid cut him off, When are you going to learn Keele, we don't want to know about all your books.
           I'm sorry your not interested in learning anything, but some of us want to learn new things and maybe make something of ourselve's one day.
           Some of us? Sorry to burst your bubble, but your the only one I know that would. Reid mocked.
           Keele didn't press the subject anymore. Yeah I guess your right. I never do see anyone else in the library. Since Mrs. Flajen died three years ago no one has been teaching any of the kids at the school either. What has happened to this place.
           Everyone is lazy. They only do enough to get along. My mother said that most of the parents decided just to teach their kids what they needed to know so the could work on the farms. Farah said.
           Keele sighed. This place has turned into the pits.
           I'll have to agree with you there, It never used to be this boring around here. Remember when we were young? Our little island was a whole lot of fun back then. Reid smiled at some of the old memories. I wish something exciting would happen.
           Farah and Keele walked over to the edge of the tower to look out at the ocean, at the land just before the horizon.

    <ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/chapter2/coastline.jpg>

           I wonder what's over there. Farah thought out loud. We should take a trip over there and explore it one day.
           Reid let out a little laugh. No thanks. That's too much work rowing over there.
           Your just lazy. she said.
           Everyone was silent for a while, lost in though.
           Keele noticed something strange on the horizon. Do you guys see that thing near the horizon, above the land?
           I see it. Look how it seems to shine in the light, it looks like a ball of metal. I've never seen anything like it before. Farah said.
           Oh wow! Its heading up into the clouds. Reid watched the object move across the sky. Wow look at that thing go!
           The strange metallic object shot up from the ground, fast at first, but then it began to slow down the higher it went.
           Keele looked up at the trail of smoke. Wait! Its coming back down. What could it be?

    <ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/chapter2/fallingstar.jpg>

           Even this far away, a distant explosion could be heard across the water.
           A small cloud of smoke rose into the sky where the object had fallen.
           Reid leaned over the rail using his hand to shield the sun. Wow, it fell just across on the other side. I wonder what it was.
           It looked metallic and shiny. Lets go check it out. Keele said excitedly.
           Reid rolled his eyes. No way, I just said its too much work to row over there remember.
           Come on Reid, this is the most exciting thing that's happened in... well... since I can remember. Please lets go see what it is. Farah whined.
           Looking from one to the other Reid shrugged. Well I guess we can go take a look. If all of us row it shouldn't be too bad I suppose.
           Woo Hoo! Keele shouted.
           Farah made for the stairway first. Lets go
           The three went back down to the bottom of the hill, to the fishing dock and borrowed one of the rowboats.

    <ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/chapter2/Fishingdock.jpg>

          They maneuvered around the north tip of the island and headed over to the mainland, to see what fell from the sky.

          The row over proved to be less difficult than expected and after a couple of hours they were pulling the boat up on the beach.

    <ahttp://spicychipmunk.net/simcity/TOE/chapter2/coastlanding.jpg>

           Which way do we head? Farah asked.
           We follow that trail of smoke in the sky. Its not a windy day so it should still lead us to the general area of the crash. Keele replied.
           Ok, lets go.

           They walked in silence through the densely wooded forest. After a while they began to smell smoke.
           Were getting close Keele said quietly.
           Shortly after that they came to a downward slope in the land. At the bottom they saw a crater about 20 feet in diameter. A small trail of smoke climbed into the air out of the crater.
           Farah looked around nervously. Are you sure this is wise, it might be dangerous down there.
           Reid pushed his way to the front. We didn't come all this way for nothing, lets go.

    Ahh.. your region. I must have it... It looks so realistic just blows my mind away. I wish I could be able to get a region to look half of what you have but, I got problems with computer. I'll be checking this one everyday for an update.

    Take a look at the link he provided in the beginning to the terraforming of this region.

    Anyways, rats!!! Dumb internet provided has kept me off the internet and I missed the start of this!!! I must say, I'm impressed! This is a storyline that could be compared to RHF stuff!!! Keep up the awsome work and I can't wait to see what happens with your great region!!!
