Absolutely Beautiful, Nofunk; I love all your work and have downloaded most all of it. I can't wait for the Hofmann, although, I have a question/request: Can we see the two party walls so we know what texture you're thinking of applying, maybe old painted-on-advertising would be cool, or have you not decided yet? Keep up the great work!

nofunk: Do you think you could create a mirror version of this building? It would be great!!!

Hey nofunk. Just a heads up, I have discovered an issue with your Wolverine Hotel. It doesn't play well with others. If the neighbouring building hugs the property line, the Wolverine proceeds to bite into it on the back view. Check it out.

I'm pretty sure that the problem is the Wolverine is too big for the lot it's on and you need to go back into gmax or max and shrink it down just slightly or shift it to the right so that it's not overhanging.

It's revenge of Wolverine Tower spirit, not happy being demolished for parking. Watch out nofunk. I think you've been cursed on this one.

I wouldn't be happy either.

90% of all the old brick skyscrapers in Tampa are now parking lots. 15.gif

Only two are left. (Tampa Theatre and Floridan Hotel)

mcarch: Sounds reasonable to me. I will consider it!

spa: Oof! That's not very pretty. I think this is a combination of two things, actually: (1) the LODs are sloppy and aren't right up against the building, and (2) I probably pushed it a little over the edge of the lot in the LE. I'll get this corrected and update the STEX. Thank you for pointing this out, Sam!

Gn_leugim: Partly! See my comment to spa.

wolverine: You're telling me! But you'd think the building would be happy that I've immortalized it in the game!

josefmayor: It's cursing the wrong guy!

Thanks everyone for the great comments on the Hofmann! I haven't had a chance to work on it lately, but hope to have an update soon! (Including shots of the party walls, xxbydesign!)

Really?  I have a few brick buildings in mind in Tampa I figured were just stuccoed over.

I said skyscrapers! I know what you're talking about though. Those are mainly 1-4 story buildings.

There is one other the M&I Gold Bank but it has been horribly mutilated from what it once looked like that its not even close to being what it used to be.

Long time no update! It's amazing how much free time I have during the summer, and how unmotivated I am to BAT. But the minute the school year starts, I'm focused again! Ah well.

I have finished modeling the Eile Building and the file is with Jasoncw for texturing.

Also, good news on the Hofmann:

    hofmann_ingame1.jpg hofmann_ingame2.jpg

This'll be off to Jasoncw also for custom BSP queries, and then it'll be up on the STEX!

I still intend to fix the LOD problem on the Hotel Wolverine, but wanted to work through some of my backlog first.

That's really impressive! Another definite addition to my plugins folder.

I'm not complaining, not at all... that's one heck of a BAT you are showing there. 4.gif

josefmayor, spa, Gn_leugim, jacqulina, T Wrecks: Thank you all for the great comments!

    UPDATE

The Hofmann Building is now in Jasoncw's capable hands, to have custom BSP queries and menu icons added before I upload it to the STEX.

He also has been working on texturing the Eile Building:

    eile01ht6.jpg

Keep in mind these are preliminary textures. (The canopy texture is still be tweaked, still looks kind of funny.)

By the way, the story behind the Eile: about a year and a half ago, Jason and I decided to work on a project together. The initial modeling was started together, and then the file came to me to finish modeling the building. Now it is in Jason's hands to texture and light it up. Once he is done, it will come back to me for modding and lotting. A nice little collaboration, if I do say so myself!

Looks promising. Besides the awnings, I think the window textures need a slight tweak. In places, I think, they're too dark. I'm looking at a lot of the 3rd floor windows and the left and centre of the 7th floor. Any thought of putting something on the banners?

    Update...

Well, once again, I thought my lighter class load this semester would allow me to get a lot of BAT work done. And once again, I have failed. I didn't open 3ds max once in September or October!

But now ... now things are happening! Jason finished texturing the Eile Department Store, and I am almost done modding it. Here are a few shots of it in the game:

    eile_ingame1.jpg
    eile_ingame2.jpg
    eile_ingame3.jpg

I hope to finish modding it and have it uploaded to the STEX very soon!

I also have two new BSP projects ongoing, and will have some previews to show you soon.

    Hope everyone is doing well!

Looking really nice! It fits in quite well with that plaza. I like the skylight and all those colored banners.
