well...i used both CMD Wall Addon Ramps and RURAL SUNKEN WALLS BRIDGE SKINS but the result is this:

    highway22an.png

I don't know why the textures near the ramp appear trasparent!

Any idea to solve this problem????

Use Smoncrie's Hole Digging lots from the STEX. One of them is a Road Hole Digger, which creates trenches 15 meters deep. Buddybud's walls are meant for trenches of this depth.

The textures aren't transparent. What you are seeing is the terrain appearing over the models of the props. I would suggest re-reading Buddybud's readme. He wrote an extensive one that covered how to use the pieces.49.gif

hi swamper and thanks for you answer!

i'm already using Smoncrie's Hole Digger and in his tool i have choosen Higway hole digger to build my sunken highway... Few minutes ago i re-read the buddybud's info (i suppose you're speaking about the README inserted in the downloaded package from the STEX) but there's nothing about my problem... for a moment i thought that could be a problem of dependancies but the other pieces work well!

[uPDATE]---> must use ONLY the Road Hole Digger (15 meters deep) and not the Highway Hole Digger (because it has a different deep)... now everything works great!

    Thanks again Swamper!!!

actually, you must use Sunken Highway Digger. as the name suggests, it's meant for this kind of thing. it's at the very bottom, so it's very easily missable.

    Hi prince...

you're right but Ramps pieces of Rural Sunken Bridge Skin don't work if you dig a sunken higway with Smoncrie's Highway Hole Digger because you will have trenches 23 meters deep. Will work diggin 2 parrallels roads with "Road Hole Digger" (15 meters deep)

im not talking about the highway hole digger, that's for digging highway tunnels.

there's an additional tool somewhere near the end of the holedigger lots, called HoleDigger for Sunken Highway. you plop those in a row, leaving a space between each, and then draw a road through them. then demolish, and you're good to go.

Your confusing him prince. It's called the sunken hole digger. Use that piece. BTW, the road hole digger makes a 14 m deep hole. sunken digger makes a 15 m deep hole for perfect overpasses.

you're right too but from my experience i can say that overpasses are quite perfect digging the sunken highways with Road Hole Digger (14 mt deep).

P.S. today i used the "Maxis Diagonalfix.dat" to build curved sunken highway and i have to say:... it's another world!!!

    THANKS SIMTROPOLIS!

Just to set this straight; buddybud designed his lots to work this the 14M ROAD DIGGER, nothing else. However, the result is almost exactly the same using the 15m sunken digger.

yes, TinySim is right. i just got put in my place on another thread. buddybud's sunken highway lots are designed to be used on a 14m Sunken Highway, as dug by the Road Hole Digger.

almost all other sunken highway walls are to be used on a 15m Sunken Highway, as dug by the Sunken Highway Digger.

How does one go about creating the on-ramps that Cyrus circled in red in the original post? I've been trying to make them all night and I can't figure out how to do it. I do have the NAM installed, btw. Thanks.

    Hi,

I tried the sunken highwalls walls from buddybud today and i'm having some problems with the transition pieces.

I am using the 14m Road Hole Digger, diagonal wall fix and a slope mod. The terrain at the slope always cuts over the walls. It works if i put the top side at the bottom but i wanted it the other way like in the tutorial contained in the package.

I tried 2 different slope mods, different heights and without the diagonal wall fix put nothing helped.

Here is a picture to show you the problems with the terrain.

    Joka...

From your image, it looks like you are trying to place the wall piece where yor highway is begininng to rise. This will chage the slope of the wall, making the piece appear to be 'buried'. Does the piece work correctly further down the higway where it is flat? Hope this helps. CC

That doesn't seem right still. I have never had problems using the transition peices as the hwy starts/ends. I can't see what it could be, but you say you fixed it, how?

And still waiting for the grand solution to my corners, anyone....anyone??

    smstevenms...

Not sure if your situation is clear (at least to me). Corner pieces? Are you referring to to a diagonal sunken highway? Is it possible to post or link to an image? Just as a beginning guess... Do you have Jeronij's Rural Diagonal Wall Set from SC4 Devotion installed (for textures) and the Diagonal Fix Mod (search 'pjot' on the STEX)?

Yes I have Rural Sunken Highway Walls, DEDWD Highway Walls v101, & R WALLS V1 Jeroni. Do you mean Diagonal Jagged Edges Mod, cause I think I had or have but got it again, but I don't think this was the issue. Corner Issues

Ah... the image helped. In my experience with these pieces, I've always had to flatten the two tiles in front of the diagonal sections to get the slope correct (as it is in your image, the terrain is poking through). This will create a space or gap behind them that can be 'covered' with some kind of filler lot that doesn't conform to the slope. If I remember correctly, the Readme probably explains this better than I am. Hope this helps. CC
