SpecialEddie: 9/10 Did you photoshop the blimp, or is it some sort of a lot?

Here is storm at the port. Hmm, might start a CJ soon.

It's a lot suspended in air. Search "zeppelin" on the STEX, you'll get a better idea of what I'm talking about.

Thundercry: Today's a day for 10's! 10/10. The colored lights and the rain effects are gorgeous.

Masterplanman: Ha! You're still the master of the unphotoshopped picture to me. 9/10

3 pages of pictures to comment on, so much for my vacation.

Amerikaner- nice canals, good road setup. 9/10

Cokatoo- Neat editing, good focus on a nice BAT. 8.5/10

tomdapom- awesome editing, very nice oil refinery, bit empty though 8.5/10

CarmineHilton- great taste in buildings, nice setup 9/10

autonVino- only negative here is the color, too harsh 7.5/10

patriots- nice, but nothing special 7.5/10

SpecialEddie- editing could use a bit more time and work, but nicely done 8.5/10

SurferbOi- editing makes it hard to look at, but a good setup 8/10

Shingure- empty, dead... not very well done 6/10

jrhnemo-  be nice if there was a train or some cars to add life 8/10

capitol1- very nice layout, could use a boat or two though 8.5/10

mpol- your taste in editing is... hrm, apauling. sorry 3.gif 4/10

SurferbOi- decent layout, fair ediging... pedmalls are too much though 7.5/10

Shadow_prophet- ineteresting theme, your slopes are far too harsh 7/10

bbfan- seems very forced and disfunctional 6.5/10

topcliff- very neat, i'm interested in seeing that finished 8.5/10

shadow_prophet-  very nice shore and use of the lots 8/10

mpol- good seaport,  water is too bright and the editing is too harsh 7.5/10

MasterPlanMan- wow, nothing seems out of place, well done 9.5/10

Duvad- your atention to detail is great, could use some sims though 8.5/10

I'll finish up the other 10 later, thats enough for now. 3.gif Sorry that they were delayed and short, 2 weeks behind thanks to sumer camp and a horible place called virginia. Note that you must leave me speachless to get a perfect 10, i think there may be one or two of them within the next batch though. 2.gif

All right!  From top to bottom on the last page:

Deever: Nice panorama!  I love those walls, and the late-day effect, but I think the white-water is too pronounced in the picture.  Other than that, really well done!  8.5/10.  Ahh...hate to ask, but where did you get those walls, anyways?

mpol: I agree, that's a really well done shot:  Lots going on, and I especially like the billboard on top of the big factory for some reason.  Very good job!  8.75/10

Tojglee (HUN): Those tenements are awesome, but I think there are too many of them.  I have seen them used in repetition with great success, but I think they're a bit too over done here.  Still, I like the atmosphere of the neighborhood as a whole; the whole "Wrong Side of the Tracks" feel is really pronounced!  And I won't count off for the grid 2.gif...7.5/10

Brad-MacD: Nice CBD!  I love the variety of BAT's, although I really wish there were more shapes there.  Most of the buildings in this picture are flat-topped, and except for the tall one to the left, they're all around the same height.  Although that over-avenue bridge is really nifty, I have to say!  Hmmm...I'll give this one 8/10

Shingure: I like that sidewalk mod you use.  You have a nice variety of homes, but other than that, there's not much going on this picture.  It's a nice neighborhood, but I have to give it something like...6.75/10

SpecialEddie: LOL, nice blimp!  The perspective this portrays is rather unique, I think, and the nighttime really looks great.  Awesome sunken avenue, as well!  8.75/10

Thundercry: Looks like it's a nice port, but I can't really see through the rain.  It looks like there are some cool lighting effects down there.  I'd like to see this picture during a clear night...until then, 8/10

MasterPlanMan: Very nice port!  I really like the underwater flora, as well (although it's kinda clear for a port, isn't it? 3.gif). Nice nighttime shot in general, I really like it! 8.5/10

Shingure (again): Ahh, this one's better!  I like the effect you used.  It makes it seem more artistic, and I think the effect goes really well with the blues and browns of the picture.  A bit of repetition in the picture, but I don't think it's the actual buildings that are supposed to be the focus anyways.  I might say 8.25/10

SpecialEddie (again): Awesome city center!  A really nice selection of BAT's there, too.  Looks like a place I wouldn't mind visiting.  As a picture, it's sort of ordinary, so maybe 8/10.  As a showcase of city building skills, however, top notch!  9.25/10

All right!  I have one to share.  If you've been around this thread for a while (or been to the SC4D Pic Comp. somewhat recently), you may have seen this particular shot before, but I've edited it and I've decided to see what you guys think (I don't think I've posted this particular rendering of it here, but if I have I'm sorry).  Here it is:

What say ye, then?  I accept all forms of comments, criticisms, and cruelty...2.gif

Thundercry: Lovely rain effect. Brings out the port very nicely. 9/5/10

MasterPlanMan: Just give it as it is. 9.5/10

SpecialEddie: Is there really anything that needs to be said? 9.7/10

Well. I love everyone's building pics. So neat, gorgeous and orderly. But now i think i should throw a little chaos into my mix.

This is just the countryside battle. I'll post the urban warfare later on when i'm done. Its not that good since i'm just experimenting

Jenovaconflict.png

I would like to apologize in advanceif this kind of pic is not meant to be posted on this thread. I only assumed it is since i did not see a rule saying otherwise. however if such a rule exists please inform me and i will promptly remove this and replace it.

I believe you are looking for this set.

masochist: For some reason, your editing made both the green building in the foreground and the train in the background look good. I also like the dark border thing. 8.8/10.

Shadow_prophet: A war I suppose. I'd personally add more tanks there but I don't know how you came up with that image. Either way, I like it. 8.5/10.

TheSixCents: Nice coastal area! I also like the added urban development. Perfect water mod too. 9/10.

*****atoo-210893: Is it just me or did you edit some of the lights to make them glow? Wow. 9/10.

ryan04: As far as I know, you can only post one image at a time (unless you're comparing an image to another I think). Anyway, I'll rate them collectively. 7.8/10 for the Chinese feel.

As usual, click before rating. It might take awhile to load though.

*****atoo-210893, reminds me of my trip to Hong Kong. Difficult to recreate without some of the most important landmark buildings. 8.5/10

ryan04, nice start to Beijing. Hope to see more pics to rate. Like the historical building next to the flag. 8/10

Masochist: Nice editing! Some more custom buildings would be welcome though... - 7.5/10

TheSixCents: Nice water mod, apartments, but the golf course lots look a bit weird - 9/10

C0ckatoo-210893: A wonderful downtown, but maybe some variety in your shots instead of just the same downtown from different angles - 8/10

Ryan04: I) Nice looking commie, but looks empty - 7/10

: II) The buildings don't really fit in together - 5.5/10

Deever: Interesting shot, but doesn't work for me - 6.5/10

And now, a shot from a new city I have been working on, and I may turn into a CJ eventually...

TheSixCents - Not yet, hopefully i will have it up soon, just got to finish developing the region. And i love the beachfront golf course. 9.7/10

*****atoo-210893 - Yes those are tanks. Guess I didn't show it clearly enough. I will have to rectify that. Your pic gets a 9/10 because i love the lighting

ryan04- I'll just rate your best image and that is the first one. 8/10

Deever- Thanks for the comment. Your pic. Just because i hate the base of the wind mill i'm giving you a 8/10 4.gif

tomdapom - I'm giving a 8/10. Lighten up on the rain a little. i want to see your city. Clearly.

Here's the last one on the war for now. More tanks this time. *yay*

Deever: 5/10 I don't know.. there's just something about your photoshopping that's a little strange. I think it has something to do with the orange color I always see in your pictures. How do you get it that way? Do you use color balance or a layer set to overlay? The motive could also be better. The bases of the windmills are unrealistic. With some time, care and terraforming, the area could turn out great thoguh, as it's a good idea. Finally, I would suggest using a different border, but that's just my taste. Sorry for all the criticism. 3.gif It's nothing personal, i'm just trying to help.

^ No, no. I appreciate it actually. I have to admit, when I ran the image through the editing process, the windmills turned "plastic." The base was bad to begin with. I think the only solution is to edit the lot.

I don't use photoshop, I use MS Office Picture Manager (most Windows users have it). I change the contrast and midtones a bit, then I go to the hue and saturation settings (hue gives the yellow color, amount tells how concentrated the color will be, and saturation exaggerates the colors in the image, including the yellow layer that was added). The values may vary depending on the situation.

Again, I appreciate these kinds of comments. I ain't perfect.

ryan04:8.5/10 like the chinese feel to it very nice.

Deever:5/10 i really hate those steep parts that the windmills left..if you could make them to be built on a slant then it would be nicer.

tomdapom:7/10 alittle heavy on the effect but i like the really american look to the city.

A very, very, very foggy night on the waterfront. Yes, its greyscale, but it really does look like it has color. Weird eh?

EDIT: did a slight modification to the pic
