Weihnachtsmann: Interesting. 6.8/10

SimsPlantet2: It may be bland but it's extremely realistic. Hardly and repetition and it's a pretty accurate depiction of an American downtown. 8/10

Deever: City-building's pretty good for an all-Maxis setting. GIMPing is over-done though. 7/10

topcliff: Too gray, and there's nothing really special about it. 7/10

capitol1: 5/10 Too many jagged edges and empty tiles. It's not that great.

Amerikaner 7/10 , I think it's abit too grey
dosomthin90210  9.8/10 It gives the old city feel . I like it.
Weihnachtsmann 8/10 Seems abit bland . But is ok. I give your second picture 7.5 / 10. Still abit bland bit tis ok.
SpecialEddie
9.9 / 10,This town resembles early , mid 20th century perfectly , Good Job
SimsPlanet2 8.0 / 10, This reminds me abit of some midwestern cities. It's ok but there is a bit of repetition.
Deever 8.5 / 10 , The thing that hurts this picture is the over saturation. Plus ontop of that it's just too...Blah...Even though I must commend you on making Maxis look good
topcliff
5.0 /10 , Too foggy. I can barely see certain things. The rain also seems unrealistic for me , Not unless it's drizzling.
capitol1 4.5 / 10 Um it's too empty. Honestly it need some filling up. As in trees would boost this rating by 3 points. Also the building style is slightly unorginized
SpecialEddie
10/10 I find this picture perfect because it reflects the early times of skyscrapers. Also the zelphlin is a good touch ,Sugoi!

topcliff: And those planes are grounded! Great effect. 8/10.

capitol1: It's lacking something; parks or more buildings maybe? I'm not sure. Good city building though. 7/10.

SpecialEddie: It's still amazing! Great city building, great transportation layout (except for that bit where the road passes under the train station 2.gif). 9/10.

Shingure: Hmmm, makes me want to live there. I like the small gray tenements. 9/10.

TheSixCents: How polluted is that area? Anyway, it's very believable. 9/10.

dosomthin90210: Now that's colorful! Nice set of farms you got there. 9/10.

Thanks for the input on my previous image guys. Here's another GIMP attempt. . . still Maxis. . .

Deever: 9,5

Dosomethin90210: 7,5

I think Deever's edited image is actually beautiful... it shows how the city would really look at night... something SC4 lacks somehow...

I mean come on its 9:30 pm right now where I live and I can't see the end of the street, only the streetlights and its reflection... how come in Simcity you can actually distinguish trees in a forest at 3 am?? To me it's a great picture

Dosomthin's picture is very unique, but especially the central green area, whatever is grown there, bothers me, because the farmer who owns it is pretty odd-minded...  he just harvested the crops randomly, sometimes areas of like 5x5 meters, while there are a lot of crops still standing... other that that it's pretty nice

Deever- neat editing, but some of those roads are just, ick... 8/10

topcliff- nice, but it seems more like a blur/grainy image than rain 8/10

capitol1- for a start, its nice. but it seems very unfinished, and those pedmalls don't fit. 8.5/10

7/10. Coastline's too uniform and the transition from urban to forest is strangely abrupt. 42.gif

Eclairee: 10/10 Looks very urban fringe-ish. Like the darkening technique.

Ilikehotdogsalot: 5.5/10 The rain isn't very good, and the city screams something *****ish.

No picture this time. Sorry.

Elaclairee, great image. It does look very urban. I want to see more of your best stuff. 9/10

ilikehotdogsalot, love the colours but I have to agree with SpecialEddie on this one. 6/10

Amerikaner, nicework. Though the big building to the left looks more Asian, as you can only see the roof tops. Doesn't look as good when put up against the French housing. 7/10

Elacairee - A lovely image indeed, I like the darkness of it, has a certain appeal to me 7.5/10

ilikehotdogs - I like the image, colourful, the rain is good, but maybe a little less next time, but nice pic 6/10

Amerikaner - Good city shot, like the sunked buildings - 7.5/10

One from me......showing the Imperial Parliament and surrounding area in Atlantis

87/10, of course!

One from Genesis, Nebraska:

saffron2cy4.jpg

It's an absolute mess, but I don't usually show my best ones so quickly because in my region, there is no such thing. This is Saffron, which had next to nothing planned ahead except for the transportation grid layout. At least now I know what I'm going to show next time...

That colorful building takes away from the landscape of the other buildings. What I do like, and I think this is a short coming with a lot of commercial areas, is that you have a lot of smaller buildings in and amongst the larger ones. With most cities this is the case. I find some people can get carried with their tall office towers and place them all together so there is no variety or contrast within their cities.

The bottom half of the image looks cool. 7/10.

Elaclairee- 8.5/10 Very good. Neat layout.

ilikehotdogsalot- 8.7/10. Rain definately brings out the city's lights

Amerikaner- 7/10 pretty good, but it seems to be out of place for some reason.

belfastuniguy- Wonderfull 8.4/10

shinkansen1- 9/10, I'm giving this a high mark cause i like how it seems all mundane and boring and suddenly there is one superbly colourfull building sticking out from the rest.

My contribution :

It would only be offending to someone who completely acts the part and deserves the title. All it really means is new and under skilled, not like its some racist term.

Bad spelling offends me.

It would only be offending to someone who completely acts the part and deserves the title. All it really means is new and under skilled, not like its some racist term. quote>

n oob is derogatory, newb is okay.

But that being said, it's still idiotic censoring the word. All this expurgating has gone too far--even to the point where we have to replace the "o" in c0ck, limiting how we use the words John Hanc0ck, Alfred Hitchc0ck, and our fellow user c0ckatoo's username. It's bringing more attention to the word itself. 21.gif

I can understand this is a PG-13 website. Censor the F-bomb, censor s***, censor b****. That's great. But come on--n 00b?

Funny, I actually see the two terms opposite of you. 3.gif

And yes, please pardon my spelling, my fingers aren't the smartest little digits you've ever seen.
