Hmm, Looks cool. That hospital fits in nice, for no good reason. Nice job with the seawalls too.39.gif

I'm glad you decided to start a new journal! I can't wait for this one! The preview looks awesome, and the bridge/seawall work is wonderful.

Hey everyone!  Thanks for the amazing response.  Sorry to make you wait a while before the cj starts up.  I've been pretty wrapped up in school lately (I've been designing a bus stop), but I'll be able to get the cj going full speed as soon as finals are over.  One thing that I like about Lattica is you get to see it start out as a relatively small city and watch it grow.  I'm excited to see how it turns out. 2.gif

For everyone that commented on the seawalls...thanks.  I've got big plans for the city's riverfront (on both sides).  I'll probably post some region views up later (if I get the time).  Until early May, take care!

If it's anything like Caspen, New Waverly, this should be great!

one suggestion: get rid of those stone walls. they look awful with the concrete ones.28.gif

I got a little time to play around with Lattica lately and I'm so excited about the new city I couldn't help but post a few more pics for you guys...

    lattica1.jpg
Lattica may be a small city, but planners are planning ahead with the new airport.

    lattica2.jpg
Central Park is under construction just south of the airport.

    lattica3.jpg
Digital Park is also under development.  This high-tech (non polluting) industrial park will be conveniently located just across the river from downtown.

MayorTim, Sloppet, oroen, topcliff: Nice to see the regulars back! 9.gif  I can't wait to really get this cj going full speed.  Thanks again for the support.  About the stone walls...do they really clash with the seawalls that bad?  I thought the colors might have complemented each other, haha.  Should I replace them with another set of conforming walls instead?

    |Actually, the stone walls aren't too bad, keep them on the bridge approaches, where they're more subtle. Don't use them on sharply contrasting sections of land (the texture gets stretched out, and it looks ugly).

    Nine degrees of separation??

dude, for realism, get the no one-way arrows mod. it would've changed Caspen and save this cj from losing realism, FAST.

I love the way you did the bridges across the river....The contrast between the river embankments and the bridge keep the game from looking confined to that square we all love...Great Job...

Shadow_Assassin: Thanks for the advice.  I'll keep that in mind.  Those land conforming walls are pretty tricky.

Rive85:  Sorry to keep you waiting.  Maybe if there's time I'll post an extra teaser or two.

topcliff: Already done.  I actually removed the one way arrows a few days ago. 19.gif  and I agree, the city does look much better without the arrows.

dhoppeii: Thanks!  I'm trying to give Lattica some character.  In the future (when Lattica becomes a booming metropolis) I'm hoping there will be a nice blend between the urban landscape and the natural environment.

texanpride786: I used the marrast embankment set.  the set's actually clever enough to allow for you to continue embankments under bridges (and it's really easy too).  I highly recommend that you head on over to the stex and check it out.

kingofsimcity, jacqulina, sloppet: Thanks, Thanks, and More Thanks!  44.gif

RadioheadFan: Thanks for showing the airport some love.  Believe it or not it actually took quite some time to set everything up and plop that airport in there....lots of terraforming involved (especially when laying out the airport's roads and highway ramps).  You'll see all the details later, though.  Gotta keep building up the suspense. 2.gif

everybody: Many thanks to you all for the continued interest.  I'm really excited about Lattica and I can't wait to show you all more.  If there's time I'll post a few more preview shots.  Stay tuned for updates!

johnboy12: Welcome to Simtropolis...and welcome to my new city journal.  I'm glad you liked Caspen and I hope Lattica will be just as interesting for you.  Don't forget to look at all the amazing creations by others in the city journal section.

I'm working on my very first BAT.
This is probably completely unrelated to Lattica, but I figured this would be the best place to make the post (since I've come to trust the opinions and suggestions of many of you).  Anyways, I haven't been able to play SimCity much lately because I am an architecture student and I've been designing a bus stop for the past several weeks.  Since my bus stop design was pretty well-liked by others, I decided to bring it on over to SimCity 4.  I've never done a BAT before, so bare with me.  It may be quite some time before this bus stop ever makes it to Simtropolis.  Here's a little teaser of my first BAT.

Don't forget: Lattica begins in just 2 and a half weeks!
