    johnboy12: Thanks!  And sorry for making you guys wait a while for the next update...the timing had to be right.
    Shadow_Assassin: Hopefully it will work out pretty well.  Lattica's site will be quite different from Caspen's old website.  I'm planning on making Lattica's site much simpler...maybe sticking to maps and screenshots...just enough to make the CJ easier to understand.  It'll be there just for visitors to refer to from time to time.
    jaqulina: It's not so hard to do what I do...just takes a little time, patience, and all these other wonderful city builders out there to give good suggestions and let you know when you screw things up. 2.gif
    everyone: Sorry for the wait...another update is here!  It's kind of scattered across the map this time too so I apologize in advance for that.  Enjoy!

    Lattica Ups the Ante:
    City tries to attract younger generations with smarter growth, hip loft living

    13oc.jpg
    Hemstead State University has quickly become one of SimNation's leading universities.  Its top-ranking programs draw sims from all over the nation...but HSU grads usually leave the city after graduation.  Lattica wants to change that.

    Downtown Lattica
    23xx.jpg
    Cleaner streets and less crime is the goal downtown.  The city's busy business hub is becoming more popular than in recent years, but city officials still want to remind sims that it's not just a place to work; it's also a great place to live.

    38km.jpg
    Downtown Lattica boasts a modern gleaming skyline.

    40id.jpg
    The Lofts at Downtown are conveniently located downtown.  The community is also within walking distance to many office towers and a short bus ride to work via LATA (Lattica Area Transit Authority).

    53mk.jpg
    The new Central Park is now downtown.  The park adds to downtown's appeal and gives sims a natural place to play in the middle of Lattica's paved paradise.

    Midtown Lattica
    64rh.jpg
    Somewhere between Downtown and Uptown, a new growth began to take place...so the city named it Midtown.

    72me.jpg
    Lattica just got another major business district.

    84wp.jpg
    Midtown is where the old meets the new.  It features the kind of classy urban living that only downtown could offer before, but Midtown has the gorgeous Chastain River in its backyard.

    97ru.jpg
    Towne Park: Midtown's Premiere Urban Community.
    Towne Park features hip lofts, townhouses and single-family homes in the middle of the city.

    104qk.jpg
    It's not about any kind of growth, it's about smart growth.

    Northwest Davidson County
    115dh.jpg
    For sims looking for a little more space in the city, Northwest Lattica is an ideal destination.

    127xy.jpg
    Consider it one of the most densely packed suburban areas in SimNation.  Planners were right when they anticipated growth along the Northwest Expressway corridor.

    138yg.jpg
    With the flight of sims to Springfield County, Uptown's growth is slowing down...for now.

    East Davidson County
    141il.jpg
    Unlike Northwest Davidson County, East Davidson County was able to escape the density of the city...so much that the new East Davidson Mall was built.

    153ao.jpg
    This is currently the only mall in the entire Lattica area.

    169re.jpg
    The Lofts at Riverside: Live, Work, and Play in East-Central Davidson County.
    The community features lofts and apartments in a beautifully wooded community where Central Park once stood.  Planners are hoping large urban communities like this one will attract the younger generation of sims that Lattica desires.

    175pu.jpg
    Town Center at Riverside is under construction.  It will serve as the Riverside community's commercial district with retail and office space.

    186hp.jpg
    East Davidson Road was finally widened and renamed East Davidson Parkway.

    199pn.jpg
    New communities are still springing up across East Davidson County.

    209wh.jpg
    The Central Heamstead Industrial District was recently expanded.  More jobs mean more growth...who knows what's next.

    ______________________________________________________________________________________

    So what's really next for Lattica?  I have no idea.  We'll see what happens.  I'm still trying to work on creating a realistic slum but it doesn't seem to fit anywhere in the city right now.  tried the westside...maybe I'll check out the southside. 38.gif  Hope you enjoyed the update!  Look out for more later!

    Lattica's turning out quite nicely, and it's beginning to bulk out a little. Though, you would need to fix up those seawalls, there's a section there which is sticking out a bit too much, obstructing traffic on the river. While I don't like that hospital, I like what you have done with it, maybe just fix the lot up a little, it doesn't fit in with the general ambience of Lattica.

    Hello wks2003x.

    I haven't really seen this CJ yet, although I do remember posting near the beginning, now I am addicted. My jaw is beginning diplomating relations wth the floor again. 44.gif
    Great city, keep it up.

    Shadow_Assassin: I'm working on the seawall...that section is a little difficult to work on because of the bridge but I'll see if I can reduce the part that's sticking out without causing too much damage.  I was afraid the Newman Memorial Hospital would have to either face modifications or be tossed aside.  And considering I'm not too talented with the lot editor, I may have to find a replacement hospital.
    aleking: Thanks! Glad you like them!
    kingofsimcity: Welcome back and I'm glad you still like the CJ.  Don't be a stranger. 9.gif
    frogface: Thank you.
    jacqulina: look for more night pics later!

    Coming Soon  :: Meade County

    _______________________________________________________________________

    jacqulina: Thanks so much for your continued interest in Lattica.  You've followed my cj's for a very long time and I certainly appreciate it.
    flrscf: I have to admit I have more fun building suburbs.  I'm glad my cj helped you out...it give my cj a little more of a purpose.  Thank You!
    Shadow_Assassin: I agree!  I wanted to try placing the ponds in rural areas but they work much better in the suburban areas.  BTW, I haven't posted in  Dynasty lately but I will...and I'm still lovin' it.
    Everyone: I hope you liked my little teaser for Meade County.  As you can see, it will be one of Lattica's more affluent suburbs.  More to come later!

    Ah... these promotional advertisements are excellent. From the blurry picture, Lattica Hwy looks interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing it in context. I really like the landscaping in North Highlands. A nicely growing metropolis overall, and continuing to hold my attention.

    jacqulina: Thanks!  Glad to have you.
    oroen: Thank You.  Good news...you'll get to see all of Lattica Highway today!  And I'm glad you like the metro...I wonder just how big Lattica's going to get?
    Shadow_Assassin: I gotta admit, the asphalt highways look better.  Even though there are plenty of concrete highways where I'm from, asphalt highways are much more prevalent.
    kingofsimcity: Thanks.  Lattica loves you, too. 2.gif
    pikachoum: You can say I'm not pleased with the road/highway options that came with the game, so I try to be as creative as possible when it comes to road layouts.
     alexr15: The medians are Marrast's Avenue Dividers.  You can find them in the STEX .
    MayorTim: Wow.  It really is an honor to see my CJ in your signature.  And I can promise you that Lattica's CJ will last longer than Caspen's.  I'm much more pleased with how the city is turning out.  Many thanks to you, man!
    Everyone: [:0] Whoa!  I don't think I've gotten that strong of a response since Lattica started.  So let me take the time to say thanks to everyone...for the compliments, the criticisms, the suggestions, etc.  Believe it or not, you guys are playing a huge part in what's shaping Lattica.  There's so much more to come.  Expect even more suburban counties to crop up as well as the completion of I-70.  The website's still a big work-in-progress and it's taking longer to develop than expected.  Nonetheless, the city-journal continues full speed ahead.  Welcome to Meade County, everyone!

    Lattica's Northern Spread Continues; Meade County Blossoms into Upscale Bedroom Community

    As sims flock away from the city and into the suburbs, northern counties continue to prosper.  Sadly, Lattica-Davidson County faces its first population decline in decades.  Fortunately, metro population is up to 160,000.

    <ahttp://img23.echo.cx/img23/7959/15be.jpg align=baseline>
    With the growth of Meade County, Lattica continues to expand in land-mass and highway mileage.

    <ahttp://img23.echo.cx/img23/6159/24lu.jpg align=baseline>
    As the satellite view indicates, Lattica is finally starting to become a big city.

    Welcome to Meade County
    <ahttp://img23.echo.cx/img23/14/30yj.jpg align=baseline>
    Meade County is home to over 16,000 sims.  The county consists of one city, Brantley (the county seat), and one unincorporated town, Edgewater.

    <ahttp://img23.echo.cx/img23/8559/41uh.jpg align=baseline>
    As Brantley grew, city officials decided to form a city core to reduce traffic on I-265 and bring more money back into Meade County.  Even after the formation of the city's bustling downtown area, rapid growth stayed two steps ahead.  Even now more than half of Meade County commutes to Lattica daily and clogs the city's highways.

    <ahttp://img23.echo.cx/img23/8554/58bc.jpg align=baseline>
    Downtown Brantley is strangely dense for a suburban city; and it's even beginning to compete with neighboring Springfield County.

    Meade Medical Center

    <ahttp://img23.echo.cx/img23/9522/77vn.jpg align=baseline>
    Lattica Highway/I-70 Interchange
    Lattica Highway was constructed as an alternative route to Lattica.  It begins in North Meade County where it splits from I-265.  It curves south and east around downtown Brantley to South Meade County.  In Davidson County, the extra-wide avenue narrows to a standard avenue and becomes Brantley Rd.

    Modern lofts are even finding their way to this suburban community.

    <ahttp://img23.echo.cx/img23/1528/121oe.jpg align=baseline>
    Single-family homes with incredible views of Brantley's hills are quite popular.

    <ahttp://img23.echo.cx/img23/6997/135gf.jpg align=baseline>
    Edgewater

    <ahttp://img23.echo.cx/img23/6540/141zv.jpg align=baseline>
    Sims from Lattica's northern suburbs quickly tired of the long drive to East Davidson Mall.  As a result, Edgewater is now a shopping mecca for this side of town.

    <ahttp://img23.echo.cx/img23/8126/158tk.jpg align=baseline>
    Sims from Brantley, Milton, and Uptown Lattica frequently visit the Edgewater Mall.

    <ahttp://img23.echo.cx/img23/6800/164ml.jpg align=baseline>
    Restaurants are also wildly popular in the area.

    <ahttp://img23.echo.cx/img23/6664/175dq.jpg align=baseline>
    Beyond the mall, new retail developments are springing up along Edgewater Pkwy.

    <ahttp://img23.echo.cx/img23/8176/189bw.jpg align=baseline>
    Intersection of Meade Pkwy. and Edgewater Pkwy.

    <ahttp://img23.echo.cx/img23/6720/196tp.jpg align=baseline>
    Where Edgewater Pkwy. meets I-265, hotels are springing up to accomodate sims looking for an overnight stay.

    Edgewater has amazing views of the Chastain River.

    Getting better and better all the time. Admittedly, Brantley's d/t looks a bit too dense for a city of its size, but that's about it.

    I like the use ofthe new NAM pieces, too
