It's that time of the season when San Portello becomes a bit stagnated... Why? Becuase I've got Builder's Block. Every time I prop my leg up, place keyboard and mouse on leg, start SC4... I can't build much.  I can't even play The Sims 2 without getting bored within minutes.

 

I hope this isn't serious... I really like San Portello and I have 9 Pages worth of comments and updates, and I love the reigon.  But shamefully, I can't build anything without being distracted.  Sorry folks - It's one of those months. I have low will-power right now, but hopefully with my BATing project coming, it'll set my building cities off again!

San Portello will be closed for a few weeks, you are free to comment whenever you want - but very sorry.  I promise a HUGE update when Im back to my normal SC4 self.

That update is almost ready, thanks for your support everyone - if you wish to help San Protello or post news reports that could connect San Portello's hurricane attack to your CJ, the time is now.  Dr. Vu has released this statement:

'As a press leak from San Portello state and independant country, the final countdown to the hurricane strike is still unknown, but the hurricane is still at it's most powerful, just roughly still the same size of Europe, moving slowly across the sea heading towards SimNation (U.S.A.). Iscolated incodent? We cannot say. Governers will not allow us to report at this time - the state is currently still being evacuated.  Will we send help? We'll try our best! Will you see me in other press conferances? Not likely... mmmmm...'

Dr Vu oddly hovers out of the hall, leaving the FBI guards watching him to answer all the questions with the same 'No comment.'

Hurricane Carl is moving slowly through the sea, but he is getting closer and closer - at most 16 water vessels have been sunken becuase they were trapped in the hurricane's storm pocket, and a ship has radioed in saying they are manouvering within the hurricane itself via the eye, which is showing normal conditions of a breezy day - however mixed reports are still coming in that the antenna from the skyship U.S.S Tonsko broke off becuase it had frozen! The craft itself suffered some severe tumbulance, but the readings were correct: -34 degrees centigrade. Are we seeing a localised Day After Tomorrow approach? Or is there something sinister, out-of-this-world and just rotten eggs going on????

Ohhh, this should be interested, normally i would offer the residents of San portello a temporary sanctuary, however New Rhodesia is currently Evacuating the city due to the ship.

Update 52 - Hurricane Carl; Part 1

News Reporter: In a stunning turn of events, Hurricane Carl has accepted his course and has SPED UP towards San Portello - we fear the hurricane itself will not dissapate until it reaches Georgetown. National security measures have taken place and the zero hour for the hit will be two weeks time, +/-3 days.

 

NAZA Scientists are running tests on hurricane devises as we speak, however, they refuse to comment on the nutorious Dr. Vu who is now on the run. We take you live now to Cape Vu, Los Porablos.

 

The Mysterious Dr. Vu left no picture...

 

52.1 Cape Vu's major Air Force support complex, Dr. Vu's nutorious original main base.

 

Live reporter: It's been half a year since Dr. Vu escaped from this complex, but the people who work here not it all too well. What we fear will destroy our culture for sure, has been revealed to be a cause of Dr. Vu's most recent projects... Project X. Dr. Simtano is here to tell us all about Project X...

 

Simtano: Project X was the government's main support project, researching the localised planet SimMars for any extra-terrestials live or dead, by sending a detector telescope capable of reading life forms as tiny as a bacteria spore from distances of at least 800 miles from the surface.

 

Reporter: Yes... But what was the significane of this project?

 

Simtano: The project found something...

 

*The moment intesifies with a thunder clap not too far away.*

 

52.2 The main shuttle.

 

...When I say something I mean we found some sort of collective mass of structures, looking like a typical human city. We weren't sure if we hit something big here or it was some lucky descovery of a rock formation.

 

Reporter: *Mouth wide open.*

 

Simtano: Shocking as it was, the first shuttle we flew sent back photos of lights coming from the structures and lower areas as if the city was alive. We took deeper observations, and found that this city was in fact... An Alien colony. Everyone was in shock, and we couldn't beleive the sight. Dr. Vu was the first to react but it was very strange...

 

52.3 Dr. Vu prepares the emergency operations shuttle...

 

...He activates code 0 - a system network interface that turns on when a scientist identifies a problem. Dr. Vu felt that it was his job to cancel this whole project by-by- activating the system that destroyed the problem.

 

Reporter: So this shuttle would take off, and destroy the city?

 

Simtano: Two nuclear warheads systematically attached, made to destroy an entire super-city in a split second. This alien colony was very small, but Dr. Vu had set the attack pattern to full propensity. He wasn't going to give them a chance to survive.

 

Reporter: Do you think this is the reason why the aliens in New Rhodesia have arrived?

 

Simtano: It's possible, but we're not sure...

 

Reporter: Thankyou Doctor, I think that sums the hurricane up. It would explain the extremeties this hurricane is involved with. Back to you studio...

 

*Half a year ago.*

 

52.4 The Complex at night...

 

Simtano: Dr. Vu! What have you done? That missile was for emergencies only! God knows what can happen!

 

Vu: Idiot! You don't understand the power of those aliens! I do! Keep your filth away from me - I'm saving this world!

 

Simtano: You've killed us all you maniac! Security!

 

Vu: I may have killed you all, but I will have saved what matters most. If I know them well... This entire country will be destroyed! After that - they'll move on, but I'll stop them! You'll thank me in heaven! *Vu runs.*

 

Simtano: Security! He's getting away!

 

52.5 Shroooom!

 

Vu escapes. Simtano goes to NAZA headquaters, at the entrance...

 

NAZA Executive: The Shuttle is at the platfrom... Vu... What have you done?

 

Simtano: What can we expect?

 

NAZA Executive: That is classified...

 

52.6 The shuttle begins to light...

 

Coms Personell: She's firing!

 

NAZA Executive: Shut her down!

 

Coms Personell: I can't! Vu's destroyed the manual override!

 

52.7 The takeoff...

 

Simtano: I can't do anything unless you tell me who these aliens are...

 

NAZA Executive: Keep this to yourself - 50 years ago Vu's father intersepted a UFO crash, and without question he descovered that as the UFO passed through space one of the worst hurricanes on record built up and smashed through the Area 56 complex on the beach. If these aliens come for us - they'll do far worse than a small hurricane the size of San Portello... They'll create a supercell that could threaten the entire country of SimNation.

 

Simtano: What about everyone else?

 

NAZA Executive: It depends on how they take other humans. Call the president and the governer, they'll want explanations why a god-damned classified shuttle took off without clearence.

 

52.8 Simtano takes off for Washington and Georgetown...

 

Simtano: Governer. We have a problem...

 

52.9 We haven't had a hurricane for 49 years... How big will this thing be?

 

Simtano: If we got it right... Twice the size of the country. We'll be the worst hit.

 

52.10 Dr Vu is on the run... Which cities will suffer?

 

Simtano: Los Porablos will be flooded, so will Georgetown. But you should worry about San Fernandes - this hurricane at this intensity produces a thunderstorm like none other and twisters that ignore the existance of skyscrapers.

 

52.11 Will these tornadoes strike anywhere else?

 

Simtano: The tornadoes witnessed in the last hurricane followed a circular path... in this case, it'll devastate the entire northern seaboard side of San Ferandes, and render some villages non-existant.

 

Governer: I'll inform the president... Right now, we need to keep this thing under wraps. Tell the nation Dr. Vu is wanted - wanted for erm... Illegally testing on humans and lamas, cross-breeding... No, treason!

 

Simtano: We'll sort it out for you.

 

hmm.... End of Part One.

Well, the next update was coming until last nite...

 

 

Until my hard drive failed. Ive installed a new one however...

 

My backup of the reigon has somewhat vanished mysteriously as if one of my family deleted it...

 

Which means no more San Portello folks.

Well, to reserve my space, I've started my next Cj, Astro City. Based after San Portello's hurricane attack, it portray's man's strong fight to survive on a hostile planet whilst enriching a beautiful city. Stay tuned.

Update 53 - A long, lost child is reborn!

Sorry to revive an old forumn, but in the wake of my computer problems I located a strange 'Temp' folder... and do you know what I found?

 

San Portello's Reigon Files!

 

Thanks to all who have watched San Portello and the comments from those after the CJ finished back then, but now, Im very happy to tell you it is A-L-I-V-E...

 

San Portello Relives

 

LPX how I left it, with a Fourth city planned...

 

I begin with LPX...

 

Develop the homes some more...

 

Im starting to get used to the system again, I'll be looking over the names in a bit to see which freeway is which.

 

Then develop that untouched waterfront...

 

The commercial areas, as usual, are doing well already.

 

The surrounding highway now really surrounds the airport, and it branches into the island...

 

Im not sure what to call that fourth city yet, ill think of some names soon.

 

The branch then uses a big red bridge to cross the island - it stops on the island, then crosses again...

 

The tolls are expecting heavy traffic...

 

It's a big span...

 

I didn't have time to put in some real text, ive got to sort some stuff out.

 

Check out my Sims2 Journal as well - there might be some imports from it.

superchad: Perhaps... but it didn't get there magically - either my dad has been making some backup copies of our My Documents folders in there or he rigged the virus scanner to copy the My Documents folders every day . I will have to ask him.
