Nealos, it's brilliant! I love the last updates. The highways and walls are cool. The region is exciting to look at.

    Excellent! More comments! heeheee...

eggie99: Well it is good to see someone likes them! And thanks for the comment!

silvermac: It may not be updated in months, but it is still here!

jacqulina: Welcome back, and as always thankyou...

    Hasbone: Thanks

    bixel: Lol, thanks.

    BubbaGump: Just wait...

Micah: Thanks, and yes I have to admit it has a certain radiance to it...

Well, I promised some sort of creative expression sooner or later so let's begin shall we?

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 70 - Saving the City...

Last time in the story of San Fernandes, we were introduced to Edwin City's role in San Fernandes, now we go right through the hills to West Point...

    Maximum image size is 800 x 600 - MM

Update 1 - Let's just scroll over here and start buildin... WHAT THE???

At this time of the proceedings, Edwin City decided to cover its tracks when developing, and sometime between the 'uprising' and the construction of the great road, the leader of the troops that marched around the bay died Friday the 13th thanks to a very serious condition of hyperthermia.

    nealos101cjupdate70000027qc.jpg

Update 2 - Try to imagine the two cities shown slightly smaller and not so well developed, then exclude the bridges and the airport, and you have Edwin & Bobinator.

The great road was near completion at the time, and West Point was still hanging in the distance from its brothers (The central area is located in the valley to the left).  The leader of the Army (Sir A Feelancer) had just received word that his son Aron declared that he is to be married.  This made Sir Feelancer very happy, and against all odds he helped the boats crossing the bay by joining the crews.

    nealos101cjupdate70000033cj.jpg

Update 3 - We began searching the hills for that shadow on the map...

At that time, Feelancer worked desperatly hard to bring in some cash for his son to marry him, however he worked too hard and on one tragic, winter day he was thrown into the icy bay of Fernandes.  It took an hour for him to reach the shore of Edwin, and by that time hyperthermia had settled in and was claiming him.

Feelancer didn't give up, he saw what we saw - the mountaintop itself had a shining star atop of it, as if it was a sign for him not to give up.  Feelancer walked for three days through Edwin City and up the mountain.  Without seeing his son, Feelancer realised that he had not stopped to see him or his betrothed, and it was that moment where he overlooked the city itself...

    nealos101cjupdate70000048mq.jpg

Update 4 - How the city might of looked, minus the vehicles and the high-technology...

There Feelancer died, and as he fell he saw the source of the light - it was just a great bonfire lit by a man very like Feelancer himself, informing Bobinator that a caravan was on the way.

    nealos101cjupdate70000050ii.jpg

Update 5 - The very location Feelancer overlooked the city, and where he died...

No one was quite sure what drove Feelancer so hard, and only Feelancer knew it was the great bonfire.  The city folk and indeed Feelancer's son found Feelancer frozen to death on that mountaintop, and it was the local polotician's decision to erect a statue for him.

    nealos101cjupdate70000065gi.jpg

Update 6 - A great myth was born that day, and Feelancer the Hero was born.

Feelancer in the myth wanted to save his son from the evil overlord, and even though the overlord himself had tied Feelancer's body in razor wire - it did not stop him.  In exchange for his son's life, Feelancer gave his own to the overlord.

    nealos101cjupdate70000074ul.jpg

Update 7 - St. Nichola's Village, as it was those many years ago and in the centre of the village the great bonfire stood.  This village was actually mayored by Nicholas Devon Tapier, but it devoted it his greater hero - Father Christmas.

Feelancer in the end did what the myth did in the end, many saw Feelancer trudging through  Edwin, and thus it saved his son's life.  His son would have gone searching for Feelancer, and would have died in the blizzard that later later that same day which killed 5 out of 15 people in the caravan.

    nealos101cjupdate70000083re.jpg

Update 8 - Even the path Feelancer walked has been made a road...

    nealos101cjupdate70000096ij.jpg

Update 9 - Yes, it is, the road he walked is the windy one that goes up into the mountains, you can barly see the pather after it reaches the peak.

Feelancer went into the mountain in search of the source of the light, but realised that he didn't see his son, and therefore he backtracked to the ridge not too far from the source of the light.

    nealos101cjupdate700000102ik.jpg

Update 10 - now for the rest of the city...

    nealos101cjupdate700000112ir.jpg

Update 11 - West Point does not have much history anymore, not since the revolution.  It has taken from the old ways to start anew, but one day it will find its happyness, and be forever great in history to come.

    nealos101cjupdate700000124iv.jpg

Update 12 - The REVolution Nightclub, originally The Borg cube.  Everyone goes to this place, regardless old or new...

    nealos101cjupdate700000133fj.jpg

Update 13 - A San Portello famous nice view...

    nealos101cjupdate700000149vy.jpg

Update 14 - The City of San Fernandes not too far from the present...

    http://img376.imageshack.us/my.php?image=nealos101cjupdate70000015large.jpg

Update 15 - A sneaky picture that didn't want to show itself...

    Hope you likee!

patfirefghtr: Yes, what a great year - Im glad it is taking off still after so much time.

markmass: Compared how I wanted it to be, it is nowhere close, but it is a great acheivement anyhow.

Thanks! Im not sure when the next update is, but when I know, you'll know...

Maybe the history of  West Point has been assimilated by the Borg cube 2.gif (sorry, stupid Star Trek joke). I really like the 'Freelancer' myth, very original. Your region views never stop to amaze me. and the on-slope residential area in pictures 3-5 caught my attention. It looks very good.

Great update nealos. Keep it up.
