hm... it is very difficult question to answer, cause often it one place is better for work and another for living... but all put together, and been almost everywhere in Europe and few places in Asia I would say Barcelona and Belgium.

Barcelona just because it is one of most beautiful cities in Europe and the ONLY real city by the warm sea in Europe.

Belgium, well you can't beat the location, you are right in the middle of Western Europe, within 2 hours of Paris, London, Amsterdam, Cologne. It has mild comfortable climate and enough diverse population.

But I would love to be also in some big busy cities on the go like Shanghai or Moscow. Vast cities, sea of people, strong contrasts. But energy is incredible. It overwhelms you!

Neither Shanghai nor Moscow would really be comfortable place to live for the very same reasons – energy is too hot, traffic is impossible with new roads, which are build with neck breaking speed in either city quickly turning into parking lots (especially in Moscow) endless construction and stress of hard opportunistic capitalism these two former communist cities adopted as their new religion.

To the person that posted this on page 3:

You shouldn't take pride in the fact that you don't pay state income taxes in Florida. It's part of the reason your state has one of the worst education systems in the country. Florida has allot of jobs, this is true. Businesses from around the country move their jobs there because there are no labor unions (prepare to have no say in anything related to your job lol) and they don't have to pay people as much because it's cheap to live in Florida. And the quality of life may be good for you, but there is an insane amount of poverty and suffering in the United States, that only exists because we don't have enough socialist-like programs to end it. We have plenty of cash to do so.

Don't get me wrong, I love Florida. I was raised there (but not born there - 1,000 people a day move to Florida!). I am heading back there in August to pursue a college education at the University of Tampa (this may seem contrary to my previous comment, but it's a private school so it may be safe from the horrible education system). Florida is extremely varied (geographically speaking), and being the fourth-largest state by population, it is very diverse and it's an exciting place to be. It would be my favorite place I've ever been, but New York City will always stay in my heart as the most electrifying place I've ever been. I may move there after college, but it's cold up here, so maybe not lol

On another note, I live in Upstate New York, and it's not that bad. I really hate the cold though... New York is the highest-taxed state in the country (that just happened this year). But housing is generally priced low, and we have good social programs and an awesome education system with the best public university system in the country. And New York City is just amazing. It's the most incredible place I've ever been (for now - I've never been outside North America).

I would love to see Spain. I've always been fascinated with it: the language, history, the country itself. Greece, Israel, and Australia interest me as well, and I plan on visiting them all throughout my life.

------

1. I was born and raised in Florida, so I have a rather unique view of this state that most people don't. 2. Labor Unions by and large exist for the betterment of their mafia style bosses and NOT for the security of the workers. 3. Socialism NEVER solves poverty (the rates of unemployment and per capita and median incomes in Europe can't compare to the level of personal wealth we enjoy in the U.S.) 4. This isn't a judgement call on anyone's governmental or economic system, it's just a statement supported by many facts. 5. I attended public schools in Florida and as with all schooling, it is what YOU make of it. I happened to have a nurturing home environment in which my family encouraged academic achievement. As a result, I got an excellent education, took every advanced or honors program I could, and attended the best university in the state and got a great education there too! I know a lot of people on this site love their socialist systems but it doesn't change the fact that handouts and government programs will NEVER provide a better life above taking care of yourself and personal entrepreneurship.

I'm not in Miami, but that don't cares Miami is a nice place!quote>

Not if we build a bunch of desalination plants for drinking water. Don't forget about seawalls. Even then, your estimate is a worse-worst-case scenario. 15-20 years? Yeah right! All I know is, if it gets any warmer in Fresno, I am moving!

Having lived in New Zealand and Australia and visited various cities on my tours I vote Oceania.
Yes I love Australia, the UK, North America and Europe they are all great places but I say NZ is always my home

Ok I admit we have a long way in getting back up those rankings however this is what makes NZ great

Her natural environment, and Lord of the Rings was only a teaser - the Resource Management Act and upcoming amendments balances economic growth with looking after the environment

Her Freedoms: New Zealand is a very free nation, with press, speech, political organisations, our Parliamentary MMP System and our stance on world issues. Then again our Geo Isolation also acts as a physical and social shield against world shocks as well.

The people, we are a very multi cultural nation and are in the middle of an identity change as we move away from the pluarist European/Maori mentality to a poly cultural identity.
This is going to New Zealands toughest challenge since being crapped on by the UK when it joined the EEC but this nation can rise to it and she already has in part, seeing people of all nations, cultures and religions interacting so freely until ethnocentric conseratives upset the apple cart.

Employment is great with unemployment at 3.2% although the housing market is about to have a nuke shoved under it

Education and health can be dodgy but hey thats what Private Insurance are for

and most of all, you fit in to New Zealand, New Zealand will accommodate you, you don't accommodate NZ, be prepared to be on the long boat home

Yes I am proud of my nation, I also reccommend her to people wanting privacy from the world and freedoms they once had.

Oh weather can range from -20c to 35c with it being from clear skys to extra tropical and polar storms blasting us with 140km/h winds and snow
We use the metric system, the NZ$ and speak QUEENS ENGLISH mixed with Kiwinese
We have an MMP Single House Parliamentary System with the Queen of the Commonwealth as head of state, no president and are led by a Prime Minister
We also drive on the left hand side of the Road

And are out of range of all Russian and USA bombers unless they have KC135 tankers nearby and ICBMs would miss out
We are home to a super volcano that sent us into the last grand ice age and sit on th Ring of Fire that gives us the shakes and beautiful volcanos

This is my Home New Zealand

Well I have travelled a lot and love Europe, Canada and Eastern Coast US, but I always love coming home to Northern Ireland, beautiful country and at the minute so much happening.

1. Some of the largest and most exciting property developments in Europe currently under construction

2. Second lowest crime rate in the developed world after Japan, according to the UN

3. Beautiful countryside

4. No threat of drought or any other natural disaster (atm anyway)

5. High standard of living

6. low unemployment

7. Highest education standards in the UK and some of the best in Europe

8. World class universities, the most important being Queens University which is a world leader in chemical engineering and technology

9. Universal health care and some of the best hospitals in the UK NHS as well as having of Europe's leading and most advanced cancer research/treatment centres

the thing about how lots of europeans would like to live in america. I find it funny how everyone is so critical of our government and us as a people, but they would love to live here...makes ya think 3.gif

as for me, i would love to visit alot of places (England, Spain, France, Italy, Austrialia, Brazil, etc.) and would never visit some places (Japan, Russia, Poland, IRAQ) , but i will probably not live outside of the US longterm, and after college i may just (to quote the dropkick murphys) ship up to boston for the rest of my life 3.gif

Europe; which country thou? It's one of the reason I love it, so many and yet each so diverse. I also love the liberal attitude a word that means a smack in the face to a lot of countries. I think I would go for Germany thou. I live in Britain but it has too many negatives for me personaly so I would happily live in Berlin.

Ahh...I would happily go back to London this instant, but im stuck here for another 2-3 years

Where is here? So. Cal.

Missions_at_Sunbow_exterior_902.jpg

Such big, ugly wasteful homes....ugh.

Heres some pics of my beautiful native London, definately the best city in the world located in the best continent in the world:

3004617London.gif

Best skyline in HISTORY.

london_tube.jpgGrandfather of all metros. The London Underground. First opened in 1863.

P-1-outside.jpg

In North America, you have to go to the Northeast to see the historical architecture, in Asia, there barely IS any historical architecture...Here in London (and the rest of Europe) we ARE historical architecture! Nothing beats a good walk down Belgrave road, observe the pristine condition in which these georgian terraces are preserved.

Dscn0918LondonStreet.jpg

Best looking streets EVER!

As for Tokyo, I think its too bright and modern. The national deity building looks like some  1930's art deco horror.

Well, im sorry skyliner I guess you are right what I said was not how I meant it to sound. But you must admit that there is no historical Japanese architecture to be found in the centre of Tokyo. Maybe art deco but from what ive seen nothing pre-1920. Or who knows I could be wrong.

And maybe we dont agree on London but I guess it is just a matter of different tastes.

I wouldnt say Tokyo is the best city in the world either......

Well thats because most of the pre 1920 buildings were destroyed in 1923 as was most of tokyo in the Great Kanto Earthquake. And most of Tokyo was destroyed in the firebombing of tokyo in 1945. There is still a lot in Tokyo though. The imperial palace, various temples, and shrines, japanese homes etc. You just have to look behind the concrete towers. I wouldnt say any city is the best. They all have their charms and sceneries.
