Hey Rubik....this is sort of off topic, but do you do architectural stuff for a living? I thought I knew, but I don't remember.

The Font looks fine to me I've built a few Marriots and a Lot of NYC Landmarks back in the SC3000 BAP and this seems to beat all! I can't wait for the complex to be completed. Fantastic Job your doing here in recreating this wonder Thank you very much for your effort!

PLEEEEEAAAASE post it! But if you don't its still tied for best buildings on the exchange( dusktroopers buildings are up there too)

Whoa there, relax and take a chill pill. lol We're all excited, and want the buildings to come out, but let him work on the detailing, there is still a lot to go. Rendering these will take a few weeks more than likely, cause the towers themselves took about a few days total to render. I've been doing this type of work for about 4 years now.  I do anything from high-end residential to medium sized commercial.  My specialty is doing high-end residential remodels.  Here in Oregon there is a big EIFS problem and pretty much every house that has EIFS (synthetic stucco) is having it torn off.  So there are a lot of homeowners that what to see what their house will look like with different materials.  The house below originally had an EIFS exterior.

 

Unfortunately it seems as though GMax doesn't have the Old English font type.  Anyone know if there are font add-ins for GMax?

Rubik, you must have to have the font installed to work. I just tried it in GMAX and every font I have installed on my computer shows up. I'm attaching the font to this post.

Well I messed around with the Times New Roman font type and it ended up looking pretty good with some squashing of the o.  I've also gotten most of the night lighting complete.  Now it's on to the roof details...at least what I can make out from the pics.

 

The awning will end up being exported seperately as well as the lower entrance.

Looks Wonderful Rubik! I'm about to burst wanting this duplex but I can wait. The Marriot sign looks just like the real thing. I think you got it down. Can't wait to see it finished till then.

I've gotten some of the roof junk done, at least as much as I can decipher from all of the images.  I'll probably add a few roof vents to the lower roofs as they just look too bare.  I'm also going to mess around with some nighttime omni lights to fake the light given off by the surrounding buildings, mostly the 2 towers.

wowzas... the texturing looks awesome! the thing sticking out reminds me of ice cream for some reason... maybe its because its smoothy white.

im not sure if its soft and creamy.. but im half blind so if i think its soft and creamy, it probably isnt.

Metal and glass are by far the hardest materials to get to look right.  And without the ability to do falloff map and reflections, it becomes even tougher.  What I will probably do is and in some omni lights like i did with the towers to try and achieve the shinyness of it.

If you mean the rest of the WTC, the answer is yes. If you mean buildings near the WTC, but not apart of the WTC, than no. I hope this answers your question Duck, I mean Dusk.
