LOL, TMS - I once did a Harris Teeter. It was a crappy BAT by SG's standards, but I had the sign font right.

It was based on the one in downtown Charleston, SC, which looks like an old converted warehouse.

i want to ask you if by incorperating the old keep walls you could make a castle type mansion,i cant find one anywhere on the stex ,maybe if you cant someone else can,it would be very usefull to go with the old keep walls thankyou

SG has no 'vendetta' against you. He is simply bringing more of the flavor of real cities into SC4.  If you don't like them, or approve of them, simply ignore them.  Is it that hard to do? 

Some of us enjoy these lots.  They're humorus to us.  Not only that, they're usefull.  Could you imagine Miami, Myrtle Beach, Honalulu, etc. with no strip clubs?

WOAH!  Dev dude, chill out dude!  His stuff is not c***, it is good work, while I do agree with some of it, it is still good work.  If that is your reason for calling it a personal attack...  I don't know what to say... and it couldn't be a personal attack against you, as he also would know that DT, myself, and many others would also not like it, so even if he did do it to make us mad, which I highly doubt, it was not a personal attack. chill out dude.

Simgoober: I can't say that you were trying to attack dev, since I'm not you. But I can say you weren't also because I'm not you. infact no one except for you knows if it was an attack or not.

I don't think you are the type of person that would attack someone, but yet, you aren't the type of person who would upload a (in my opinon) below par BAt for your skill level. In the past, you have always gone the extra mile to make your BAts Exceptional which is why you have over 500,000 downloads under your belt. But I think that if dev and other members weren't so vocal about their oppositin to the escort service lot, you would have atleast made the playboy masion more realistic or not have made it at all. The mayors mansion is excellent, a very awsome house, but that house with a stone textures is a very crappy playboy mansion- and I the only reason I can think of that you would realese a BAt so far beneth your reputation is to push devs buttons.

 

dev: you need to realize that playboy, hookers, porn- its present in or world, more so today than in the past. Look at Paris Hilton or most ads today. Hugh Hefner is a celebrity, an Icon today, and in or goal to make Simcity realistic, one could argue that sex lots are a neccesity.

 

I do believe however that it is much more logical to avoid these sex lots in order to prevent conflict as we see here and to protect the morality of small children who might, for some reason have figured out the internet and be a member here.

 

I have nothing against these lots, infact I find them amusing, yet I think you should move on to other projects, so we can have peace.

 

However, I do think from a BAt perspective that you should yank the playboy mansion, and make the playboy mansion as an ultra reward. I think that would make a good lot

My own point of view is that we need to be more tolerant of the opinions and beliefs of others, and that if there is something on the STEX that we don't personally like, then we move along...   The ultimate decision lies with Dirk (and the rest of the admins to some extent), but Dirk built the STEX, so I think its his call as to what stays up and what gets pulled and I trust his judgement 110%.  

 

I want to state now that the personal attacks are to stop, as are any nasty comments regarding BATs or anything that appears on the STEX, if someone has a problem with anything, then it can be PM'd to the inbox of any of the Admins, including Dirks - but people, please - if you don't like something on the STEX here, then just move right along... no one is forcing you to download anything, please remember that! 

 

This is my final call on this, and if anyone has issues then my inbox is very much open, as is my MSN (usually) and email...

 

Now, back on topic...

There are thousands of people that support Simgoober and want his work and I will not allow you to make it hard for them to follow their questions and responses from Simgoober.

I'm sorry there are some of you who think the Playboy was sub par.  Honeslty, I would imagine most of you have not seen it in game, and are judging it by the pics on the STEX, which aren't great.  YES, as I have said over and over, it is the same base model as the Villa, which ironically, everyone seems to think looks good.  I changed the textures, which are green stucco, not stone (?), and as soon as the green hit it, it looked to me like the color of money, which later blended into the theme of it.  

Anyhow, I like it, and think it looks sharp.  I have no intention of changing anything on it.

 

As to whats next, who knows.  I have some factories I have been playing with, and am still tweaking. Here's the shot I made for the STEX, when one of them is ready for upload.  I should have saved the origonal, as it is large (6 tiles long), and I had to shrink it a lot to fit on this one, so it's not the greatest quality... There is a lot of detail showing thru the glass that is lost inthe pic.
