Columbus is located 90 miles(~144km) south of Atlanta, GA in the SE US, and borders east Alabama.
The river flowing through the map is the Chattahoochee which begins in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the north to its end in the Gulf of Mexico 500 miles away from its headwaters.
Columbus was founded in 1828 as a planned city and in WWI congress founded the School of Musketry which became Fort Benning. the largest infantry base in the world. Ft. Benning is also known for the famed School of Americas.
This is my home town.
