About This File
Radio Station
Gliwice city has its own "Eiffel tower", although very few people looked at it as if it was an engineering masterpiece. A fatal quarter inclined over the history of the tower dated 1939, as well as, the events which took place not even at the tower, but in the broadcasting radio station building nearby.
The tower is a unique engineering thing of the world scale. Other similar object had been either destroyed during the wars, or disassembled and replaced with modern steel constructions. Larch wood is a building material of our tower! Beams are connected with brass bolts (none of metal nails!). Height - 110 meters, footing - 20 by 20 meters.
