Mount Desert Island is the largest island in Maine and the sixth largest coastal island in the continental US. It is primarily a summer vacation destination. The community of Bar Harbor is on the northeast side. Much of the Island is protected as Acadia National Park.
This is a really interesting island with huge amounts of shoreline, some gentle slopes and some fairly steep slopes. The highest point of the Island is Cadillac Mountain at 466m. There are lots of smaller islands, and a bit of mainland Maine in the north and northwest of the region.
The high elevation water has been changed to local depressions, so have fun if you use any of the freshwater mods.
