About This File

NHP Tatra By nichter85

The Tatra Mountains constitute a mountain range which forms a natural border between Slovakia and Poland. Although considerably smaller than the Alps, they have an alpine landscape and high mountain character, with steep cliffs, numerous lakes and cirques which were shaped by glaciation. The Tatra occupies an area of just 750 km², it’s probably the only high mountains in the world which can be fully covered by a single SimCity Region. The highest peak is Gerlach at 2,655 m, located in Slovakia just north of Poprad. The north-western peak of Rysy (2,499 m) is the highest point in Poland. The map also includes the polish town of Zakopane, which offers skiing slopes at Kasprowy Wierch (1,987m), it’s a very popular tourist destination both in summer and winter.
