This is a non-scale map of the Grand Canyon based on the USGS Grand Canyon data. Note: the picture only shows one city... the inset shows the entire region.
The main canyons are covered by several large cities with great possibilities for spectacular bridges. There are plenty of flat spots for building but the real fun is linking up communities across the giant canyons. You will need your hard hat on to engineer the bridges without recourse to the terraforming tools, but it's quite possible.
