About This File

One of the many goals of major cities and suburban areas is crime. In the beginning, SCPD used a police station, and that pattern continued into SCPD evolution to SC4, but for the first time was offered with large stations, deluxe stations, and kiosks. In order to solve the crime issues of a given city, many, MANY, stations had to be used, costing thousands of simoleans each year. With the creation of the police kiosk, mayors could have many smaller, less expensive kiosks protecting the city. Study after study has proven that kiosks were a great substitution for the many police stations and their upgrades. But many mayors still don’t use these mini-stations, for the were simply inadequate, and the sims themselves still saw an oppressive building menacingly overlooking the streets of their local neighborhood. NORSCORP decided to change the image of police kiosks being inadequate, by mass-producing their own police kiosks, the local police station. The first problem tackled was the oppressive image. New architectural designs provided a more friendly feel, giving the occupants of the area nearby to actually get to know their local police. This then begins a chain effect, as more and more sims see police as their “servants”, they have allowed larger police presence, reducing crime. And when coupled with the lower costs provided with these unassuming stations, mayors are building more of this revolutionary tool. But every silver-lining has its cloud. The stations, of course, are cheap due to their smaller size compared to its next brother up, the small police station, 1x1 tiles instead of 2x3. They also have no police cars, no cells, and a much smaller radius. Highlighting the cost of these kiosks, while still needing many, are still cheaper than a whole bunch of expensive police stations.

The specs are the same as the standard kiosk, no dispatches or cells, budget cost of $40 with plop of $100. See README for more details.
