Chicago, Illinois
By MallowTheCloud

Chicago is the third most populous city in the US. It sits on the shore of Lake Michigan. It's nickname is "The Windy City."
This map is scaled accurately. It is a rather large map, and is not recommended for slower computers. It is 60 by 60 km.

A Config is included in the package. You can also find more maps by Mallow The Cloud here.

If that's the river to the south of Gary, IN... sorry about that. I saw it, but I had already spent WAY too much time perfecting the rest of the map, and I didn't want to have to do it all over again. Again, I apologize.

Beautiful work. I'm using it right now, and it's perfect scale. The Des Plaines, by the way, is on the far west side of the city. As far as I can tell, there would only be a very small part of it in the area of this map, so it's not a big deal.

Excellent work. I especially like the way it's done exactly to scale. It's the best Chicago map I've found so far. Minor complaints - no Des Plaines river (as previously mentioned), and the topography is a bit flat, even for Chicago. Also, the river banks and shore lines tend to be a bit blocky and artificial looking, so I'll probably terraform those a bit.

Also, there are a few places where your region selection in config.bmp could be improved by shifting things over by a pair of intermediate sized regions on the left side. I found this to be true in the second, third, and sixth rows, where the easternmost region has just a little land. This is mostly a problem in the sixth row, where Navy Pier essentially forms a city by itself. But it was easy enough to fix the config.bmp in Paint, which even a novice like me could handle. Overall, 9/10.

@kman, you can get close with this map, but not accurate. The map is aligned with true North, not in-game North. Therefore the game's street grid won't be aligned with the real world's Chicago grid. The map needs to be rotated 1 degree. I've discussed this in the NHP maps forum.
