Nanning (literraly South Peace) is the capital of Guangxi province (China). Build to protect south west China from invaders from Vietnam (700 A.D.), it had been so quiet that it receive the name of "Peaceful Gate of the South". The greatest battle was during WWII (a victory against the Japanese).
Nanning is still a very peacefull city, renamed "Green city of China" with many parks and calm life. The half-artificial lake Nanhu Lake (big one in east, merely strait) is surrounded by parks, colorfull lighning and waterfall cinema (south) and brand new tall skyscraper (north). Nanning is turned by China as the Gate of West South-East Asia with economic meeting of Siam-Indonesia-Philippines Congress.
His downtown (center, north of the river ) is filled will modern and old shops (Wal-Mart and Chinese crafts). A food walking street (by night) is famous for cheap and great variety of grill food (like BBQ snake and grill scorpion.. hehe, but most of it are common food) and with great bargain in store by dayon almost everything.
Green and peacefull, with nice ladies with sunshine tan walking with elegance in this booming town. Nanning is a great quiet city of China
The map is quite accurate except for the south-west part (the small high cut-shapped mounts) that I create to show the unique and amazing landscape of the Guangxi province. These hills dresses majestically between plains creating a wonderful view for the eyes and an inspiration for the mind.
It is said that Dragons shaped that land. If you been there... you will beleive it.
