SimCity 3000 Unlimited has been released on steam for the first time. It's also back on the EA store. SC3K was my introduction to the series, and having it on more platforms other the GOG is wonderful. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2741560/Sim_City_3000_Unlimited/

When I learned about the EA/Origin version problem, I uninstalled the EA version, and bought and installed the Steam version. A couple of days later, SimCity 4 reappeared as an installed game in the EA desktop app. I thought that was odd, but a couple days ago, the EA app says there is an update required for SC4. (Like, no?) I'm not going to press that button, but does anyone else have this? How can I remove SimCity4 from the EA launcher? There is the option to uninstall, but it points to the Steam folder and I don't want to uninstall the game. SC4 is working just fine (I only ever launch it from the desktop shortcut), so this is an EA app issue. But neither my EA account, the EA app or Steam have any settings anywhere that link from one to the other. It's weird.

SimCity.exe on computer but unable to log in to Origin / EA app
The Avatar posted a topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
I bought SimCity (2013) when it came out but haven't played in years. I had an Origin account under an email that I no longer have access to (it was through an ISP that I no longer use). I contacted EA customer support and they said my Origin account was deactivated by them due to inactivity, and that the only way to get access to it again would be to reset the password, but I can't do that because I can't log in to the email associated with it. I tried to give them as much info as I remembered about the Origin account but they would not even give me a chance to try to prove ownership of it. I was looking through my computer, and I still have the folders for Origin and SimCity. I even have the files from the original closed beta! But when I try to run the .exe it just tries to launch Origin and then I get the error: "Origin has encountered a serious problem and must close." Is there any way that I can play the game with the .exe file and get around having to log into Origin / EA app? Or has anyone had any luck trying to recover an Origin account? Any help is appreciated. -
Origin version of the game just got an update
KristopherVector posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I noticed that the Origin version of the game has an update. Anyone know what this changed? Did it possibly fix the whole unpatched executable or whatever? Or something else? Or perhaps nothing important at all?
