I don't think what Bipin is talking about will ever be an issue...but I do think if the game ever gets modding, we'll end up having to battle a bureaucracy to get mods in. For example, a McDonald's BAT...will someone be able to do that, or would they get a message stating something about trademarks, yada yada yada...

What's that big argopolis-like building thing in the background?

Looks pretty sweet. If you can raise pigs in it, and in turn make bacon...you'll sell a million copies...

Is CiM2 prebuilt cities? And you just do the transit? Or do you build the city from the ground up?

"filling up the nearest house"....kind of goes against the promise of Glassbox =(

Maxis to RPS: SimCity servers 'not necessary'
Harlequin_666 commented on Gurning_Chimp's article in News
Has anyone used a program like Fiddler, to see how much traffic is going back and forth between SimCity and it's servers? That should be a big indication... -
Ouch...

I can't find a screenshot or game-play video...is this vapour-ware?

So what if a city was deleted? Possible?
Harlequin_666 replied to Dewm's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I think a lot of us do the same with SC4...having an industrial city next to the residential/commercial ones, off on it's own. I usually have power there and the garbage dump. -

Harlequin_666 replied to Dewm's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I got two things from this thread. Stay out of Dewm's region as he'll collapse your economy, and nhgriffith is ready to be our garbage dump and sewage area -
Leaked SimCity Game Manual
Harlequin_666 replied to buttonhead's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
That picture on the manual, can you even build bridges? Haven't seen any game play imagery where there are cities with rivers in it. -
What happens after your city is built?
Harlequin_666 replied to cruisin's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
My problem is that social gamers...don't spend $60+ on a game. They usually play for free and do the micro-transaction route, or they pay $4.99 for something like Angry Birds. And a lot of us here won't be paying $60 on such a limiting game. Now if the game was for sale for $20 or $30, then I can see the "social gamer" aspect, and EA can make even more money with DLC. Paying $60, one would be more hesitant to pay $5-$15 for chunks of downloadable extras. -
+1 what Xeno said. And remember that the Windows Store is only for Windows 8 Modern apps. Not for desktop applications. E.g. Photoshop is a desktop application, and won't be in the Windows Store.

I Really Hope We Can Somehow Mod in Different Zone Densities
Harlequin_666 replied to maddogmark25's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Everything is driven by the server I would think; variables are all there, everything is saved there. Will have to see what mods will even be possible, don't think they're even announced anything about mods except in passing... -

SimCity 2013 Beta: the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Harlequin_666 replied to lopes8070's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
My 12 year old son: "Looks just like Simcity Societies". I played for about 5 minutes and I was quite bored with it. And you must need a top of the line computer to really play this thing. I have a 3GHz processor and 4GB of RAM and this was chunky on the lowest settings. =( -
Is there a wiki or blog post with a list of everything?

Sim City Beta Testers: EA has a new way to oppress your playing experience!
Harlequin_666 commented on Bipin's article in News
"With just 1 hour to test it's hardly enough time to test out the game" Especially since the most important thing about reporting a bug, is the steps to reproduce it. -
The Draggable FAR looks amazing...

How big is your plugin folder?
Harlequin_666 replied to DrChevy's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Mine still crashes after cleanup, but seems a tiny bit more stable. Wonder if going from 4GB RAM to 8GB would make a difference. I also saw that one 3rd party thing that compresses your plugins folder...does it help stability at all, or does it just make things load faster? -
How big is your plugin folder?
Harlequin_666 replied to DrChevy's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I think he just means Ctrl-S as "Save & Continue". Yeah, I've been in my plugins folder for about an hour so far and I've already cleaned out 200 items. Plop files, Landmark files, railroad stuff I never used, etc....hopefully it helps -

Harlequin_666 replied to DrChevy's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Yeah, good to keep the plugins folder clean. I'm doing that right now. Going through wach folder, removing PLOP/LM files, as I never use them...and cleaning out plugins I don't use....like bike trails and other stuff. -

What about CPU/RAM and the size of a plugins folder? I have 3GHz & 4GB RAM....does more RAM help?
