Well that explains why my screen size didn't seem to change when I changed resolution settings in dgVoodoo Thanks for the info. -
Thank you and no worries. I understand the need to have automated protection measures such as Clean Talk.

Nice and large. This is a test comment. EDIT: well maybe it was that phrase + other aspects. Who knows.

I cannot believe this. I was looking through the text wondering what it could be. Then I noticed that I described the game window with a certain resolution as "nice and large". I changed that phrase to "big". Now it worked.

SC4GraphicsOptions.ini, dgVoodoo, and 4k monitotor
Brian Cahill posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Hello All, I'm new here. I love discovering strong online communities like this. You all seem great. ______________________________________________________________________________________ I've purchased the game through GOG, installed it on Windows 11, and I've successfully installed the 4GB patch, NAM, and some other DLL mods. The game is set to DirectX. I've also installed dgVoodoo 2.82.5 and the game displays the dgVoodoo watermark in the bottom corner. No problems there. But I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction with these two questions: Question 1: Regarding the SC4GraphicsOptions, how do the settings within SC4GraphicsOptions.ini relate to the settings within the dgVoodo control panel? Should I set the SC4GraphicsOptions.ini to Enabled=false when using dgVoodo? Question 2: For those using 4k monitors and dgVoodoo, what is your preferred resolution setting? I have a 27" 4k monitor and currently I'm trying the game at 2560 x 1600 which is alright. I tried 3840 x 2160 which was nice, but it cut off the top and bottom of the game a bit. Does anybody with a similar monitor have a suggestion for a resolution option within dgVoodoo so that the game window is big, but also the in-game elements such as buttons, menus, etc. are actually large enough to read comfortably? I see a list of options under the resolution menu in the DirectX tab such as 2x, 3x, 4x, Max 2x, etc. Thank you for any insight! -Brian -
It was a post titled, "SC4GraphicsOptions.ini, dgVoodoo, and 4k monitotor" regarding how the SC4GraphicsOptions.ini file and the dgVoodoo DirectX wrapper work when used together. There were no attachments included. Regarding my IPv4 address and the blacklist page, I don't really know what that means. If it means anything, I am accessing Simtropolis from my work computer which is undoubtedly part of a humongous WAN of PCs across many different geographic locations. Attached is a screenshot of the full text of my original attempted submission. I tried to paste the full text to this very message, but Clean Talk blocked this response. Do you see any trigger words or phrases in that? EDIT: and the link you see in that screenshot where I said, Regarding the SC4GraphicsOptions from "here", is to I tried submitting the post without that link and it still didn't work. /EDIT

Hi all, My name is Brian. I discovered this place the other day. I think your community is just great and it exemplifies the PROPER way to use the great tool of the internet, as opposed to just a tool to yell at each other. Unfortunately, my first attempted submission was marked as spam and blocked by Clean Talk. Administrators, how do I get Clean Talk to like me?
