  1. NAM RealHighway Causing No Road Access Icon

Okay, thanks for the info. I've read some of NAM's documentation, but forgive me for being pretty overwhelmed by all of it! Is there much in the way of a "quick start guide" or "crash course" to get started with the NAM?
  2. Hello, I just installed the NAM and any time I use a "RealHighway" piece, my buildings receive the no road access icon. The sims will still actually use them and cars will animate on them. The buildings will NOT become abandoned. Everything else functions, but its a real eye sore to see all the no access icons... See screenshots: Original uses RealHighways, I bulldozed the RealHighways and replaced them with normal roads. After running the sim, all the icons go away. The remaining few is where you can tell the normal avenue turns into a RealHighway avenue equivalent. Is this a known bug? Am I missing something?
  3. Would you be able to ELI5 this? I sorta know what you're talking about, but let's just assume I'm a total newbie at this. Thanks! Also, new update: the game will play windowed at 1920x1080 using the "-w" command. Works 100% of the time. It is just full screen that doesn't work...
  4. UPDATE: After more troubleshooting, it is the full screen setting that causes this to "crash" to desktop. Running the game windowed with the "-w" command at 1920x1080 works 100% of the time. But as soon as I switch it to fullscreen via "-f" command or otherwise, it will do the black screen glitch as described below. As many know, you can use the command "-CustomResolution:enabled -r1920x1080x32" (source) in the Steam launcher to play SC4 in 1920x1080 resolution. This is causing my game to "pseudo-crash" to the desktop as described below. It doesn't actually crash, it just doesn't load the game either. I have also tried using a launcher and gotten the same results. Currently I must play the game at default resolution if I don't want to spend 5-10 minutes trying to boot up the game. Every time I try to launch SimCity 4 (Deluxe) in 1920x1080, it will black screen for a few seconds, then pseudo-crash to the desktop. THE GAME HAS NOT ACTUALLY CRASHED. It will still be running as seen in task manager and the task menu bar. I'll click into the game again, or use alt+tab to enter the game again. I'll again be presented with a black screen for a few seconds, then another "pseudo-crash" to desktop with the game still running in the taskbar. Once again, the game is still running. I'll do this around 10-15 times and suddenly the game will randomly work and run normally. This happens regardless if I use the SC4 launcher, or launch from Steam. Has anyone experienced an issue like this? It's quite annoying to spend several minutes just launching the game each time you want to play. I've done a complete uninstallation and reinstallation of the game and experience the identical results. I am 99.99% sure none of my mods actually affect this bug. The only variable that triggers it is the "-CustomResolution..." command line, or any other method of playing in non-default resolutions. What's also strange is that the same thing will happen if I set the resolution using the in game menu settings to either one of the "higher" resolutions like 1600x1200. 5. Help with SC4Launcher not working

Interesting development: I followed this guide on how to get SimCity 4 to run at higher resolutions than 1920x1080, and that actually got my SC4 launcher to work. So it had something to do with the graphical settings. It's not perfect, there's still some quirks, and some definite graphical glitches at resolutions higher than 1920x1080, but for whatever reason, following that guide got the launcher to work. I'll have to write up my findings when I have more time, but for now that's the short story.
  6. Help with SC4Launcher not working

I just bought SC4 Deluxe Edition on Steam about a week ago. This wouldn't be using any sort of disk level DRM would it?
  7. New Development: After following this guide on how to play SimCity 4 at higher resolutions than 1920x1080, my SC4 launcher is suddenly working! The graphical settings aren't perfect, there are definite glitches when playing at resolutions higher than 1920x1080, but something about following that guide got the launcher to work in general. I'll update my findings when I have time. This is just the short story. _____________________________ Hi, newbie at modding SC4 here, so go easy on me! (Just picked the game back up a couple of days ago after around a decade of not playing). I can’t seem to get the SC4 Launcher to work. I’ve followed YouTube tutorials step by step and nothing has worked yet. When I go to launch the game it’ll just get stuck and not actually open. It’ll appear in the menu bar, and if I hover over it it’s just black. Clicking into it does nothing. I’m running Windows 10. Is there something obvious I’m missing? So far I’ve only launched the game from Steam with success.

This is absolutely amazing! I have so many questions, but I guess I’ll boil it down to these two: What mod(s) are you using for getting those buildings and terrain? Especially the mountains, they are freaking gorgeous. How did you get the game to render in such high quality? I just got back into SimCity 4 after around a decade of not playing it, so forgive me if I’m missing something obvious.
