As we start building on the Conway Map one of the key features of the build is the Great Orme. The Great Orme 670 feet above sea level dominates the skyline in this area and is the also the highest point on the map. The Limestone headline has a number of key features I wanted to replicate in the build of this city. Firstly the Orme has a tram line that runs from the bottom of the hill to the top, this is used to transport tourist to the peak of the mountian. With the editions of trams in the Snow Fall expansion I though replicating this would be a nice little edition to the city. Now this is a fictional map and not a one to one replication of the area but I like the idea of mixing in real life features with my design. The second feature to add is is the ski lift. Now the Orme has a dry ski slop and has a cable car lift to help carry people to the top of the mountian. This is another real life feature I wanted to build in this map. I know the ski life isn't functional and it dosn't follow the same path as the real life one since that would take me out of the city bounds. Still its an important feature to get into the design of the overall area. Finally for the mountian itself is the copper mines shown above. The area has been mined since the iron ages, and as a tourist to the region I have been in these mines quite a few times. This is something i wanted to try and get in, originally as a park but in the end I come up with a better idea. Finally they are people on the mountian. The bottom part of the Orme is a residential area and this is also something I wanted to bring across into my fictional build and acts of the starting point for the town that I am looking to build here. Now I have got across the ideas this is the video that shows how i went above building this in game. I hope you all enjoy and I hope you join me as I try to compleate this build on cities: Skylines.

The First area I started on this city is Pint Tree Hills on the bank of the river. The idea is to try and make this into a suburb of a larger city in the future around the river. Here’s a picture of Pine Tree Hills with a bridge connection ready to be placed on the East bank once construct starts in that area. (We also have a British tall ship parked of the marina) Pine Tree Hills This Area of the city is current served by Pine Tree Hill High School as the main education centre for both areas of town. This school is fed by a number of smaller elementary school placed around both Pine Tree Hills and Conifer Point. As Alderley Rivers currently lacks any major sports teams, the High School Football team is well supported. Parents and fans flock to games at the High School Football stadium located just outside. Pine Tree Hills is also a religious centre currently featuring the city’s first church. The church holds a number of services during the week along with Sunday mass. As well as being used for funerals within the city. Next to the church is the city main cemetery, however smaller crematoriums are located in Conifer Point a little to the south. It’s said that this Church is one of the oldest buildings in the area. Pine Tree Hills also as a number of green spaced areas located within. These make handy connection between roads without the need of a car. Due to these green spaces and other city services Pine Tree Hills is one of the more desirable places to leave with high land value across this area of the city. Conifer Point East As you reach the shoreline you enter Conifer Point, thats split into two sections East and West. This is the central business district for this part of town. Residental life falls away and is replaced by a number of river front bars and clubs. Heres a shot from the top of one of the late night clubs. If you are looking for a good night out heading down to the river side. There is always something going on in this part of the city. It’s not just fun and games down in Conifer Point however. Conifer Point east also features the local town hall that services both Conifer Point and Pine Tree Hills. Here a picture of the tax office with the central plaza out front. This area also plays host to the areas main bus station. Bus routes from connecting the city up start here allowing residents to interchange from local services running up to Pine Tree Hills, of to the Industrial sector to the north of the map. These Bus connections play a vital part of the city’s transportation plans. With the Future in mind the city’s main North to South highway passes through the middle of Conifer Point. This highway drops underground as it approaches the cost tunnelling south towards to high density areas of the city. There is also a foot bridge places across the highway. This is rumoured to lead across into Conifer Point west where planning permission has been granted for a main line train station. The hope is this Train Station will provide Conifer Point with quick access to major parts of the city along with appealing to tourists wishing the stay. This is a quick look at the first two area of my city. Hope you have enjoyed the screen shots. From now on this city journal will go into more details about the areas as we build them.

Part 3:- In A Roundabout Way? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJQGYKJxmiw In this part I look at making improvements to the highway interchange the service the forestry industry. We base the design of a roundabout interchange located near Brighton or more specifically Shoreham Airport. In real life the roundabout allows traffic to cut out from the Shoreham by-pass onto the A283 that leads into the town. The Roundabout itself is to the north of the Interchange with the town to the south. This is similar to what I wanted to create with this interchange, with the industry sector it serves being next to the roundabout but also serving as later highway access for the towns folk. I think the hardest part about building this roundabout was creating the curves at the correct angels. Especially with the ramps that are towards the north of the area next to the Industrial section of the city. Finding a good curve with a decent looking ramp was difficult with the amount of space I planned on using to create this interchange. I do think that I managed to do a good recreation for my first attempt at building this system of Roundabout Interchange. If you compare the image from google maps against the screenshot below they do resemble each other. Given more time I feel like can improve the curves over the next coming episodes. Still am happy with how this Roundabout came out looking in the end. It’s an important bit of infrastructure to have completed early on. One thing that the roundabout does need is a good centre peace to fill in the middle section. At the moment the middle section is quite bare. I would like to find a nice park or fountain or something to stick in the middle to fill the open spaces that are left. Think maybe something along the lines of the industry statue that I have unlocked or just create some nice doctoratetive park. Thank you for reading and watching. I hope you have enjoyed it I’ve tried to explain why I have done certain things. Now that this roundabout is in place we can focus on relaying down the industrial zones in the next episode and improve that look of that area before building a better laid out town ready for expansion. Hope to see you again next time. -

Thank you, sorry the game volume is a little loud, thing all the sounds in game are set to maximum, tried to lower the db. of the game sound track in Song Vegas before rending. When i record i new video i'll try and remember to turn the game sounds down before starting for part 4 as i have already recorded part 3.
