It’s been a long time since I’ve been on here. So I’ve played SimCity 4 with no problem on my computer. Now I click on the icon and it doesn’t even try to load. I have the old school discs and an acer with windows vista or xp I’m not entirely sure. When I trouble check it for compatibility it says I need to sign in as administrator but I’m already signed in as administrator. I just don’t know why the game just quit playing. Any help would be appreciated.

Being the introvert that I am I don’t like large groups of people and/or being with one or two people for a long amount of time. I also don’t like the idea of not having a vehicle at my behest if I’m not the one driving. I much prefer to drive alone so I can stop when I want, do what I want etc.

But if cattle and horses and lions had hands and could create with their hands and achieve works like those of human beings, horses would render their conceptions of the gods like horses, and cattle like cattle, and each would depict bodies for them just like their own. -Xenophanes.

Nothing like a Sunday morning southern breakfast. Two eggs over easy, nice crispy bacon, some cinnamon French toast, and some butter grits on the side with a cup of the world famous coffee to wash it all down.

I played SC4 for years with no major problems outside of crashing to desktop from time to time. But I haven’t played in like 7-8 months and I decided to play again. But the game won’t load. When I try the ‘trouble shooting ‘ fix it says there is a compatibility issue. There hasn’t been one before. Now there is and I want my SC4 fix stat!!!!!

I realized I didn’t have the - in there. So let me try it now.

So my game still crashes about every 30 mi utes or so. That is most annoying. I did the 1 CPU thing but obviously there is something else. And I rarely use NAM pieces much. Also I have the disc version of the game and to my knowledge everything is patched like it is suppose to be. It’s like the game will ‘catch’ for a second then resume for a second then crash. Any ideas?

I spend time on my map app on my iPhone or iPad and put it in ‘terrain’ mode and look at how the big and small city streets are formed. Also I go old school when driving somewhere I just look around and get ideas.

Well even though Mr Moose is no longer here I think I’ll order a cup of coffee and good ole pecan pie!

Ok so as a follow up I just went old school and turned off the computer manually. When it restarted there was no problem to the computer but the command CPU count1 or whatever is still there so I’m hoping that will help with the desk top crashing!!!

I must have screwed something up cause now I can’t get to windows, SC4, or even the power button to turn off my computer.

I guess mine would be the “playing the game player”. Cause I do play the game. I don’t use cheats like infinite money and stuff like that. I rarely put down ploppable high rises cause I want the game to build them. That being said I do tear down buildings that don’t like right or I don’t like. I also plop down the mall and the adjoining buildings that I think should be around the mall cause having 20 Olive Gardens growing side by side near a mall is too much. Otherwise I just let the game run it’s course. If it turns out to be an ‘ugly’ city so be it. I think I looks more realistic that way. Don’t get me wrong I love the city journal pics where cities are all plopped for ascetics but that’s not how I play.
