The US's most pathetic highways
TheBarnaby replied to Duke87's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Very true. Elgin-Ohare expressway is kinda funny as it's name is a joke. Should just be called "The Expressway that passes through the southern part of Schaumburg and goes near Schaumburg's Airport". Anyways, near Chicago, 53/290 especially near 90 is a mess though. Has to be one of the worst interchanges I know of and is poorly designed all the way to 355. Then there's I-90/94 (Kennedy) past the Edens. That is a ball of fun. Going to Symphony Center or the Field? Metra and CTA FTW. Express lanes are a joke, IMHO. I'd also complain about the Stevenson but I rarely take it so I'm not an expert on it. All I can say is don't get on at Cicero. -
Working on a (Semi) "Historical" Business / Gaslamp District - thing for one of my Cities with the promenade. My inner perfectionist will probably want to rebuild it from scratch again, but here goes... now time to get back to work (after some sleep)!

Forthwall that looks nice. It's got a quite nice flow to it, both laterally and vertically (heights) and overall mixture of buildings. Seems like a bit of a "euro-asian" look that seems kinda uniquely awesome also

My work in progress map of my work in progress GLR system in my newest region (aka Logotopia). Gong for a mixed style between tokyo and chicago as far as the map goes. Wanted to go for something simplistic while still making relative sense. Still thinking of names for some of the stuff, like lines, stations, etc. NOTE: Map not to scale. (Probably should include that in the final version)

Thanks a ton, I'll try doing that. I'm still confused as heck with the barrage of mods... I'll get there maybe I guess. The point about the street double connections also - never really thought about that but you're definitely right.

Just something I've been working on. Trying to learn (and make stuff as amazing as I see here... one day...) Of course, it has been photo edited to give it effects (fog, reduced saturation) but I'm looking for advice in general in how to improve it (including but not limited to mods and bats that are reccomended). My goal is a realistic feeling but I don't think I've quite gotten near achieving that. Well either way, one step onto hopefully making my first CJ. First post on the simtropolis forums, whoo!
