  5. What type of Goverment does your city have?

Date: 6/20/2005 6:19:51 PM Author: warll Think: all SIM CITYS ARE A SOCIAL-DICTATORSHIP the govrmint pays for power/heathcare and schools why DICTATORSHIP? becouse the people don't vote quote> Just because the people don't vote, doesn't mean you're a dictatorship... you could be a monarchy (government centered around a ruler, sometimes bound by a constitution, usually appointed by God, sucession is hereditary), a theocracy (a religion-based government, sometimes a borderline democracy, often opressive), or a Fascism (Government controls all aspects of civilian life, usually controlled by one person, succession is appointed) The government in Maxisland is currently a parliamentary democracy, but there are elections soon, and who knows what could happen... **twinkle in eye
  6. Underwater road/rail/highway tunnels

Make sure to dig your tunnel deep, or (i have heard) you will get underwater headlights. not like REALLY deep, but maybe so the sides are at about 60 - 70 %. low enough that the water is opaque.
  7. a sim newb

Well, first off, a bit of real-word advice (my grand father was a traffic enginner) building more roads doesn't help in the real world, because more people take cars due to less traffic, and then you are back where you started. I am not sure if that [not building roads] works in sc4, but my suggestion would be building a subway system, and having lots of options (road, rail, seaport) for your industry.
  8. East Kingston

I like the stadium. It really looks nice the way you put in the roads and parking lot, fountain and stadium etc.. Certainly looks better than my CJ

Earl Jonston, Prime Minister of Maxisland, has retired after the cleverly executed attack on Canal House. Police and military Investigators are working around the clock to discover who was behind the attack. An Interim Leader is being appointed until elections can be held for a new leader. Investigators have detirmened that two RC boats, loaded with high-power explosives were piloted into the twin tunnels below Canal House, and were exploded. Fortunatly, even though Canal House lies in ruins, No-one was seriously injured. Also, the Maxisland Government Airstrip (MGA) has undergone an expansion, and now has the capacity for a CV-6 Aircraft. Suburbs expand And now, A public services announcement from our friends, the Maxisland Parks&Rec dept. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Have you ever wanted to escape the city and go fishing? Well now you can, becase 2 new fishing spots are open. 17. Adopt ANTI TERRORISM signiture for a week

The igger problem is that terrorism, in one form or another, will always be used because it WORKS. from the dawn of war and conflict, there has always been terrorism, and that is not likeely to stop because you invade a small defenceless country. It is not going to stop because you make a law restricting civil rights. It is not going to stop because you change your sig picture for a week. You can REDUCE terrorism, by implementing security checks on subways, or by continuing your daily life, or by dicouraging extrimism. But you will never be able to get rid of it, because it works.
  18. The Simtropolis Closet

Date: 7/11/2005 6:59:34 PM Author: Ratieya455 I had read another article that tried to link homosexuality to music. Some psychiatrist made a list of songs that supposedly turn people gay, and advised the reader never to listen to them. This was not a joke of a spoof, but from a news site that considered themselves credible.quote> HAHAHAHAHAHAHA That's ridiculous! I don't see why some people cannot accept reality. Wether some neo-con likes it or not, homosexuality is there. I personally see nothing wrong with it, and I think that even if you don't like it it's not your life. so yay! let's all be friends!
  19. Monorails over roads

Would it be possible to make monorail lines than can go directly over roads? you would have to make allowances for turns, but if you could, you wouldn.t have to blow stuff up so much...
