  1. Big John and farmers

As more and more lumber jacks find their way to the village, the village grows. The railway company already laid down some tracks to the saw mill and to the logging camp. But that's not the only railway track... there is another going east into the mountains. What's going on? It's Big John. John and his friend John went hicking into the mountains. They heard about the beautiful pond and waterfalls. The taller one, hereafter called Big John, found a rock. The rock was black and after closer study John decided it was coal. And it was. So Big John went to the government and bought a peace of land at foot of the mountains. He started digging and he hit the jackpot. Finding investers wasn't hard and in now time a fully operational coal mine was in place. The railway company extended their tracks and connected Big John's to the network. Having a large mine in the mountains, the village was more booming then ever. Trailers and cabins poped up where ever there was a road and plumbing. It didn't take long before the villagers demanded the presence of a church. The clergy decided they could leave those souls unattended and the church was built. With more people, more business also the need for security and protection arise. So a brave deputy from a county far away applied for the job as sheriff in this new village. And as there were no other candidates he got the job. The first thing he did was raise the flag and hire some officers, the village was safe. We know that the mountains in the east are beautiful and even provide for fuel (coal). In the west, however, the soil is fertile and some people tried to grow veggies there. Before they could say 'potato' there were farmers from all over the country buying land and starting their businesses. Farms poped up and where the village once was a logging camp with lumberjacks it now became a farmers paradise.
  2. And man came...

Hey, what's that sound? Move closer. Yes. Guys with chainsaws and heavy machinery. This peaceful place is no more. Some guy named Jack, noticed the dense forests and decided to chop them. And he brought his friends, all named Jack, obviously. No only do they kill the woods, they've built a saw mill. To connect all this to the 'civilized' world, they connected the saw mill with train tracks and dirt roads. All those Jacks need a place to live. So they built a temporary settlement close to the woods. Nothing fancy, just some cabins, a power generator and a waterpump. Let's hope they won't stay long and leave this place soon. But... knowing mankind I'm afraid this is the end of nature. And yes. As expected, more Jacks come to work in the logging camp and saw mill. This means more trailers and more roads. The birth of a village. Looking at the street lay-out, I'm afright they are here to stay. With people cluthering together, there is always someone to try and make some money. The first general stores appear. The foremen feel happy in this new little village and they even upgraded their homes. No trailers for these guys, but nice cabins. Wait. I notice they planted new trees in and around the settlement. Hmmm, maybe these guys aren't that bad.
  3. Quiet foothills and waterfalls

Just a quiet little pond in the mountains. Almost undiscovered by humankind. Almost... A couple of kayaks have been spotted, ready to descend the waterfalls and down the stream to the river. And... yes there is a little fisherman standing on the shores trying to catch anything else than tires and old shoes. But that's it. Just a quiet place where trees grow and animals can walk around. Down the stream, more waterfalls, more trees and more tranquility. Can't just wait to chop down some trees and build me a cabin in the woods.
  4. How to get a SC4Model (BAT) into LOT

Thanks. That was indeed the problem. Now, after I inserted it in the LOT, I have to go back to the drawing board and resize the building. It is way out of perspective.
  5. Hi, I finally turn to you. I've been looking for a solution all day I guess. I've built a house in SC4 B.A.T. (gmax) en saved it (according to a tutorial as draft) leaving me with a SC4model. After this I ran the Plug-In Manager (PIM) and dragged the house to the R$ section. In the LotEditor (LE) I opened a R$ 3 2x1 lot and select Building -> Replace... but I can't seem to find my house. I'm not very familiar with SC4Tool and/or ILives Reader, but the house show up in these programs just fine. So... please help me. Grtz, Stefan
