Industry, clearly. That channel looks too narrow for large ships to maneuver through, so easiest access for them would be right at the mouth. Condos and recreation would be better suited for the bayfront, closer to the center of the city.

Perhaps surprisingly, my favorite shot in the last couple updates is that last pic of the industrial park area. It looks more like an industrial area than anything I have seen or have been able to make, especially with the open areas and parks and stuff. I'm a big admirer of your work. Keep it up!

Hey Jay, I've recently started building a new region on your New Haven map. It'll be interesting to see how your city evolves compared to mine. (I won't be posting mine for quite a while yet, as I'm still in the throes of working on Downingsford.) Are you planning a region similar to the real New Haven? (your downtown plan seems similar to where the real New Haven downtown is)

I missed the Wal-Mart update! Talk about prime commercial space, zoning in an avenue median. And I can't believe retailers would be so bold as to move in near a Wal-Mart. They'll be out of business in months, the poor fools!!

PAGE 2!! Nice little thing you've got going here! I like the transportation views from earlier posts, especially the closeups of the freeway corridors. Clearly you've spent some time on those areas!

Woohoo!! Cape May update. I actually missed the previous update, showcasing the waste management area. I thought that was a particularly nice update to see how you have planned your region. And I'm always interested in the different ways people solve their transportation dilemmas.

I enjoy suites of pics that show how an area develops, such as the expanded airport. Helps us to get inside your head . I've been enjoying this journal since I first got to ST and really like the layout of your region.

You're giving a whole lot of detail to very miniscule parts of the city. That's the way to keep us interested (well, for me, at least...). Keep going! I'm hooked now!

PAGE 2!! (OOH, I've never started a new page before!!) Manhattan is symmetrical and bland, too... right? Ever stand on 5th Ave or any of the other avenues and look one way or the other. It seems to go forever and ever. That's all I'm saying. You can do some very creative things within the confines of flatness, orthogonality, etc. I'm not much for pre-planned cities, but in the context of your creative storyline, it really works here. Come back to us when real-life-stuff works itself out!

I especially like the intersections that you show along Sunrise Blvd (clever name!), with the ramps handling turning traffic. Very realistic of many places that use ramps and jughandles in order to get queuing traffic off the mainline. And nicely done overall!

I hear you on the MSPaint dilemma. But I'm loving the maps and signs and stuff. I haven't seen this CJ yet; it's quite excellent. I like the little bit of development jutting out in Westover Neck. Also, it's okay to have residential areas near industry, if you don't mind having R$. That sort of thing exists everywhere and IMO adds to the overall quality of your city; that is to say, not everything needs to be pretty for a city to be good.

I saw this CJ when you first started and haven't seen it again until now. What happened?!?! This is amazing! I especially liked the latter pics on update 13, with the development along the highway. I will re-state others' sentiments. This is a very inspiring journal.

How could I have missed two updates in a row?? Binsur is on my Top 5 list of favorite CJ's! The highway signs are excellent; I always look forward to travel tours with those little extras added. Keep it up!

Not only do I like how you have your road system set up, but I like that you name things and have that proposed route map. I also like the locations of and means-of-access to the stadium and the international airport. I especially can envision myself driving into that airport.

Some creative transportation networks you've got there. A mix of freeway, at-grade expressway, avenue, rail, etc. Very nice.
