When I zoom in close to my city, I get all these black spots on the screen. When I zoom out, it looks fine. I am running Windows 8.1 64-bit. SimCity 4 is running in compatibility mode for Windows XP and as an administrator.

I am trying to install gmax from here: http://www.turbosquid.com/gmax. When I try installing it, I get an error saying, An error occurred trying to download ' I am using a Windows 8.1 64-bit computer.

For the processor factory you need 5 medium tech buildings. I have an area of industrial where I placed a university across the street. The industry went directly from low tech to high tech without having any medium tech. How do I get medium tech industry?

With 50 hours of gameplay, I have had only three disasters: UFO, meteor, and lizard. I haven't been playing on sandbox either. -
Does anyone know what the requirements are to unlock each disaster?

They produce less pollution and make less sims sick than dirty industry.

Question about Oil Refining

The only way to do this is to send your refining city gifts with oil, but you would get no money for your other city, unless the refining city sent money gifts to the other city. -

First of all, this is in the wrong place. In my city, I get a lot of tourists from an airport. Also, having an event at your expo center will bring in many tourists.

Moving SC4 data to new laptop?

You should just install simcity on your new computer, then copy the simcity folder in my documents and paste it in my documents on your new computer. This should transfer your regions, plugins, and albums. -
I created a building in google sketchup for simcity. I exported it as a 3ds file, then imported it into gmax. I made a lot for it, but when it grows in the game a lot of the textures aren't there. Before: After:

My trial for sketchup pro just expired. How can I export the file to 3ds without the pro version? Or is there some other way to make a BAT from a sketchup model?

You have too many unnecessary roads and you have a highway ending abruptly! You put four dirty coal power plants in the middle of you city. You've got a bunch of zots and your budget is a mess.
