  1. can't bulldoze building

Well fancy that. (: but seems somebody is still paying attention (; I hadn't played in a while and hadn't heard of that tool. Thanks.
  2. can't bulldoze building

I had this issue with a hockey venue. To resolve I had to bulldoze suroundings, including high rises and fully used hospital, build the venue adjacent to the offending building (which had even stopped showing the correct description on mouse over) then bulldoze the pair together. Extreme measures but happy I got the space back.
  3. NAM may alter my Boot.ini?!? WTF?!

Well not sure wat to tell ya.. I do have one from the NAM 30 era and I do have traffic, otherwise I'm sure my city would die in minutes. I have a modest city of 250k. But I never got cam stuff. Clarify tsct please. I'm a monstrous n. o. o. b. (wow that was censored? Geeze)
  4. NAM may alter my Boot.ini?!? WTF?!

Let add that after the initial install from hades, I was never able to even start the game. That was NEVER gonna happen the way my pc was behaving. When you can't even open a folder in My Documents due to lack of memory or whatever, then running a game is out of the question. This second install is working juuuuust right. (: it's clear I've been gone a while! There are pieces here that I was told long ago that wouldn't happen. I started playing around with it but didnt get far before life got in the way of play the sim god. It's so neat to see how far it's come. Great job on the content side of it! I've had no issues thus far, I again I skipped the traffic sin as well. Should I get it installed?
  5. NAM may alter my Boot.ini?!? WTF?!

Thank you nonny for your interest and reply. (: 1: I guess u might call it standard operating environment? (Btw it's the 32-bit windows prof, not the 64) no other program was running along side the installer. 2: it's a home pc so I'm the admin and have all pertinent rights 3: a garbled copy... Funny you mention that. With all the bad things happening to my innocent pc I failed to consider that. You'll laugh (; I used my handy dandy iphone, with a file downloader to get the install file. During this download there was some kind of hang up, so I refreshed and it picked up where it left off...perhaps going back and downloading again would help rule that out. 4: I have Microsoft security essentials. Since I do not have Internet I've not installed any further protection. Any more questions? I've reinstalled while writing. Skipped /3gb mod and passed on traffic simulator just to see what happens. Lets start the game!
  6. NAM may alter my Boot.ini?!? WTF?!

Well then, 4 hrs after NAM 32 install, everything is almost back to normal. My system tray still seems wonky (yes that's a technical term) but that's not a catastrophic issue. Nor can it be said as being destroyed. I had NUMEROUS start up errors and an unrelated program (Roxio) was determined it needed updating for some reason. Had to work through 24 attempts to update itself...each reboot! This was a direct result from NAM because I'm not connected to Internet and I've never encountered this prior to the install. It either moved or hid system tray files like ctfmon, apsdaemon, ituneshelper to name a few. Those were my boot errors. They stopped, but I don't know why other than the NAM and traffic simulator are both gone. I have windows xp prof with srvc pack 3 and 3.5 g of ram. Before install I had custom page file setting. I've since given windows that authority to set. Could this have been my problem? I failed to notice any 4g patch though I saw the related files I think. I'd also like to appologize to targas. Though I stand behind what I said, I believe I could have likely said it more delicately.
  7. NAM may alter my Boot.ini?!? WTF?!

Tarkus The NAM won't destroy your computer, regardless of the amount of RAM you have. Do you think the original concern was the threat that somehow he was concerned about his computer bursting into flames? Or dicentigrating into dust? After installing the latest NAM (had 30 previously) the so called "stability" issues that were casually mentioned in install have been epic, to put it lightly, in my case. My computer has been rendered practically inoperable. I am currently trying a system restore at this point. So did my computer explode? No. But a "destroyed" operating system is not out of the question yet. Perhaps a bigger deal shud be made in the installation process about problems like this and maybe a "system check" to ensure requirements are met.
  8. Frex_Ceafus Stop Sign Pack

stop signs from frex? you know i got em! you da $#!^
  9. City Counsel finaly acts!

Yes, the city counsel has finaly taken action to complete the InterCityAvenue 10 (IAC10) and Buena Vista Ave. (BVA) interchange! So, after spending millions of dollars on planning parties and weekend conferences in Hawaii and an unfortunate number of fatal accidents, they agreed on a plan that would be easy to implement and cost the city next to nothing. After opening the new interchange, the city counsel got to work on other city planning projects at a conference in Europe.
  10. Transit Upgrades

Here is the new interchange between IAC 10 (Inter-City Avenue) and the Lagos Loop, If you look closely, you will notice at the end of the elevated Lagos Loop, I terminated the avenue with a one way road puzzle piece. This was done simply because there is no terminating piece that accomodates the EMIS. Mabye one day the SimNation will address that. Here is the interchange between IAC 20, IAC 15, and the other end of the elevated Lagos Loop. IAC 15 is running from lef to righ, IAC 20 is the ground level avenue running parallel but heading in the opposite direction through the HT Ind and out of the city. You may notice that the elevated Lagos Loop is not terminated here but left open. The transit workers went on strike and left the drivers to decide their own fate until the advent of an elevated terminating avenue piece that accomodates thru EMIS. There are yet still more work to be done in Lagos with interchanges, i.e.: a sunken avenue (yet to be named) and IAC 10, which is ground level. I will try to keep the SimNation informed on its progress.

  13. Saying hello.

Lagos continues to grow, and despite many district changes by the the legislature, it continues to thrive and be a beacon of commerce in the region. Surrounding suburbs continue to fight the fine fight and will report as soon as the Department of Transportation approves intercity travel.
