Wow's that's looking very good! The real thing is quite complex as there's a terminus at ground level and the bit you're building up above which is a through route. Just the top bit would work well though as an el-rail station. Nice one!
  2. Brennt Suburban Station

Wow, yet another great BAT, nice one!
  3. Tyre Factory

...textures, lighting, detailing etc for the best of my older models and re-releasing them through NDEX, EQ could do a great job of modding these! And this building would be one of the top ones as like the real thing, it hasn't never reached its potential.
  4. Tyre Factory

Yep, that sounds about right Garfiedude, I'm not too hot with DatGen myself though! Since I did this model and a lot of my other older models, I've learned a lot more about BAT, I'm thinking of updating...
  5. NDEX Announcements and Updates

Wow, great Skyscraper Dusk! I've got a couple of projects that are both 90% finished so hopefully when I eventually finish them, they'll bring in lots of downloads! Trouble is, that last 10% of the work seems to take 90% of the time!

Excellent, I look forward to seeing some shots of the station. The building circled in the pic below is one I reckon you should do, it's an interesting 60s office block next to the harbour station, I'd do it myself but I don't know it well enough. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//portsmouth1.jpg align=baseline>

Nice work on the college! What's your next project? I reckon you should do a school next. RP2005 did an excellent Comprehensive School but we need a new secondary school!
  8. 1960s College Building

Excellent work! It is Brutalist when zoomed in. Not quite as much as buildings such as The Tricorn or Corbusier's latest work but if you look closely, the facade uses a 'Beton Brut' texture. This looks like a late 60s building.
  9. Stadia Caelesta

Franz' thread, including pics is currently in the 'Modding' section and it's very good. Hopefully the thread will soon be moved to here as I missed it originally.
  10. BAT Help - Modelling Issues

Date: 3/31/2005 11:42:35 AM Author: Jeem Can anyone offer tips and techniques on how to model a tree or plants in Gmax? Thanks.quote> Yeah, I need to know this as well, my current projects require foliage as part of the model rather than as props. I need a low poly solution.
  11. NDEX Announcements and Updates

Congratulations! It's good to see you back!
  12. BAT Help - Modelling Issues

Try right-clicking on the object and selecting 'Convert to...Editable Mesh.

Looking good! This building reminds me a bit of the building where I work although it is different (see my 'Print Works' BAT). I love your 'artistic' shot of 'The College', it really has a '60s look to it. In fact I reckon that would look good in greyscale.
  14. BAT Help - Render Related Issues

Yes, group all the elements of the building together then use the 'Scale' tool, the button for this is located next to the 'Rotate' tool. If you hold the mouse button down on the Scale button, you have various different scale options, the default rescales it on all axes (maintaining the aspect ratio), the others stretch or squash it.
  15. BAT Help - General BAT Problems

Open up the Plugin Manager and navigate to the relevant category, if you have created a lot for your building, you should see two entried for the building, a lot and a descriptor (.sc4desc file). Double-click the descriptor and there is a 'demand satisfied' option, I'm not all that familiar with the values here but changing them will directly change the number of jobs.
  16. BAT Help - Modelling Issues

Yes, this is quite easy to do. Open the file you want to copy objects IN to then go to Merge on the File menu. Navigate to and select the file you want to copy the objects FROM, you will then get a dialogue box with a list of all the objects in that file so you can select as few or as many as you wish to copy in. This will also copy in any textures that may be applied to those objects. It's a very useful tecnique for props, roof junk etc.

Nice one, this building is looking fantastic! Thanks for posting a photo of the good old Tricorn (RIP).

Underworld, 'cladding' is basically material that is attached to the walls of buildings to change their appearance. It isn't structural, purely aesthetic. For example a lot of buildings are constructed nowadays with simple concrete frames and breeze block walls, the architects attach metal or plastic panels to these walls to make them look more attractive.

The mosaic pattern looks great although I still think it's a bit too bright. You're right about the main texture, it is too dark although I think a lighter grey mosaic cladding would be good.

Wow, I *LOVE* that building, it's great! It really captures the spirit of 1960s architecture (which is a cause close to my heart as I'm sure you've realised!). This style is particularly common with colleges and other education facilities. The abstract mural on the end is a great idea, it reminds me of those huge blocks of flats on Gosport seafront. It is too bright though, I would suggest changing it to browns, maroons and bluey-grey colours. Maroon particularly. What might also look good is if you could apply a 'mosaic' effect to the texture image, I don't know, try it. These things are usually made up of mosaics but the effect might not work from a distance. Colours aside, the actual pattern you have is fantastic, it looks really '60s'. I can't wait to see this one on the STEX!
  21. Underworld`s Bat projects

Yeah, I really like that, Underworld, I can imagine seeing it on a seafront, reminds me a bit of a hotel actually!
  22. Highbury College

Fantastic, yet another excellent Solent BAT from Ill Tonkso and they jst keep getting better and better, keep up the good work!

As it's a Residential building, you definitely need a lot more windows in the left hand building, people wouldn't live inan apartment with not many windows! Apart from that, it's very good, very contemporary.
  24. Tonksies BAT Thread NDEX

That looks great! I think the only thing that needs a bit of work is the skylight, it's a bit too blue. Hey, how about doing some Portsmouth University buildings once you've done this one? I'm thinking about going there so that would be good!
  25. Kefkas BATs

    That looks really good.
