Yes... as long as you dont touch the day night switch. But newly constructed buildings won't have night lights, even if you reload. Not sure what causes it to happen but it's the most beautiful glitch I have seen. If I have time I might post some pics of my downtown and industrial areas with night lights during the day.

Thousands of hours put into custom content and mods...

There was a plan to make each new Sim City game compatible with the previous game. So in theory, you could be working on the same city/region for more than 20 years. Yes I can remember the time I dropped SC3K for SC4. Programming wise, SC3K was (without a doubt) much more stable than SC4 and SC4 Rush Hour and I never had any problems with it. I love SC4 but I always felt it was too rushed and it showed. I hope Sim City (2013) will have stable programming. Pretty embarassing that the Sim City community came up with a number of crucial mods for some obvious problems that were overlooked. -
Where did you get the walls and the green train station in the picture? And is that bripizza's antenna?

@katherman111 The GLR Bridge is a JENX bridge found on LEX (sc4devotion). Maarten, where did you get your retaining walls on the slopes of your city? Your city looks perfect and so real. -

err, what? I never claimed it failed or anything like that. All I said is that the expectations on this game are now extremely high after what the SC4 community has produced. @Tarkus: That's a great explanation. I know it's not 100% possible. I was wondering how Maxis/EA were originally going to do the "transfer cities from one game to another" feature they proposed a few years ago. I dont think its likely anymore. @Craig-Abcvs: I think vanilla SC5 will definitely have better quality control on it than vanilla SC4. Only patches and fixes from EA and mods from the SC4 communtiy really saved it. -

SC3000 only had a few years of custom content in comparison to all the gigantic sites all over the world from so many different countries dedicated to SC4. Even today I'm pretty sure Ive seen less than 1% of all the content that's on the internet right now. Realistically there's no way a single company can match what's probably already centuries of work by hundreds of thousands of SC4 players. I think SC4 will be like its cousin The Sims 2 - active users and custom content after 1 decade. And Sim City 5 will be The Sims 3 of the series. SC5 however unlike The Sims 3, already has HUGE expectations on it, and there's a very high chance it could flop if EA doesn't give strong reasons for us to buy it. If there was some way to get .sc4lots and all of the BATS, props and textures people made into SC5 that would be great just analogous to making small sc4 towns recognizable in Sims 2 or sims 1 characters recognizable by SC4. Something like being able to put plugins from previous games would be nice. Very unlikely but a big relief. Anyway wasn't there originally a plan so that even Simcity 2 games onwards could be played onto Sc3 then Sc4 and so on? So meaning you could play a city for 20 years. What happened to that? Its not likely to happen but I that might change everything. -

I can't imagine an SC5 w/o custom content. And I really hope EA does one hell of a job. It's so frustrating if the NAM team will have to do a NAM version for SC5. And looking at the roads in SC5 I will stick with SC4. Yes we finally get winding roads and buildings that can grow in any direction... But flawed, glitchy, crash happy SC4 wins so far. Someone should show EA to all the custom content and mods done by users. -

Chapter 12: The Village District

I like how you mix the Maxis and custom content. Very simple grid pattern city but done well. Where did you get those sea walls? -
Where did you get those sea walls? The shops w/ advertisements beside the canal (last pic)?

That glitch happens sometimes. Maxis/EA does not have quality control on its programming unlike Japanese companies like Kojima Productions. I don't know if the Equinox_RCI_Query_Upgrade_Mod_V2 mod has anything to do with it. Click the city and load it. Usually it's okay. It's mostly just a graphics glitch. -
Did anyone make a mod to fix this? Yes, although I can't seem to find it... EDIT: This is it. Oh right. I had it for a long time and forgot about it.

I love this. where did you get those 2 factories at the bottom ? -
http://www.sc4ever.com/knowledge/showarticle.cfm?id=1103 no need for photoshop just use paint. You can actualy make a region larger than what you see in the config map. There was a turorial here on simtropolis on editing region default size.

Herman Cain 999 Plan: Did It Come From SimCity?

I read somewhere that the U.S. tax code could take the average reader 24,000 years to finish reading. I wonder how he will do this. Sorry I think its 2500 ~ 2,500,000 pages and millions of words (numbers vary depending on who you ask. http://www.trygve.com/taxcode.html How long would it take too read the entire U.S. tax code? It would take 13 days (308.33 hours) of non-stop reading http://www.speedreadingblogger.com/how-long-would-it-take-to-read/the-us-tax-code-how-long-would-it-take-to-read/ -
