Graphics "Blades" and missing intersections
princeonacastle replied to princeonacastle's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Thanks, you've been very helpful Sir I've checked and it's 1,1,610,0 - North America. Used EP1 and it finally made the update, but NAM for some reason is not recognizing the update. Yes, one roadblock after another, really frustrating. I'm upset Thanks for being nice because it wasn't like this with the CD I have before, which I bought in the Philippines. The second CD I bought (this time from Hong Kong) after I lost the first one is the one giving these errors, starting to suspect the CD is pirated... sigh. I'd rather buy SimCity 2013 if I'm gonna buy a new SimCity CD, but I'll need to be familiar with how to make buildings there.- 20 Replies

Graphics "Blades" and missing intersections

The desire to help to who asks is always directly proportional to attention it will provide the help offered. Has no simple tip in this case so if you resolve that really needs help is good to strive a little more to get it ok! Putting the graphics under Software rendering mode removed the errors I hope my request wasn't too demanding, I just didn't know where to find that file... I do suspect that, hehehe. I'm using Norton, which they say is one of the top 3 in terms of pickiness. I definitely don't mind though. The blades and graphics problems are gone but I noticed as I installed the North America one, I got this message: What shall I do now? Seems like it's not necessary to do this anymore. I had the same issue with my new laptop because of the integrated Intel graphics card. For me adding the -d:OpenGL command switch in the shortcut solved the issue for me. I can run in hardware render mode and can use BATs and MMPs with HD graphics. My full command line is -CPUCount:1 -CustomResolution:enabled -r1600x900x32 -d:OpenGL The CPUCount switch makes sure SC4 only uses 1 CPU. A game this old doesn't do well with multiple CPU's. Custom Resolution allows you to change the screen resolution if you need to. The -rWxHx32 sets the desired resolution. The -d sets the graphic mode. To set the command line, right click on the shortcut and choose properties. On the shortcut tab add the command switches at the end of the target line. I haven't tried this one yet, hmm. I'm using only one monitor and my resolution's pretty standard. Will see if the problem persists in the future, thanks!- 20 Replies

Thank you Sir I did a scan of the EP1 for China and it turned out to be a virus, good thing I hadn't installed it. The rest were okay. If you want to collaborate with the solution then make a search on the game installation folder for the file ".... config-log.txt" Make a zip and attach in post that containing the following. Equipment - make / model - (Desktop - Portable) If OEM. then describe. Operating System - Version Virtual Memory - Size enabled Mother Board - make / model Processor - make / model Installed memory - Size / type / Nº sticks Graphics devices - make / model - Integrated / graphical board thanks I'm not seeing this file, sorry...- 20 Replies

Graphics "Blades" and missing intersections
princeonacastle posted a topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Hi guys, Need your help here. I just installed my old copy of Sim City 4 + Rush Hour and tried it on my Windows 8.1. It opened full screen and everything was going fine from the regions down to the landscaping, until I started with the cities: It seems there are blades coming from what looks like the direction of shadows. Also, intersections between roads, especially between roads and streets, aren't rendering properly. The worst is when entire buildings like the Coal power plant just disappear (but continue to function). Please let me know if there's any solution for this. Here's some computer stats: - Windows 8.1 - Intel i3 - 4GB RAM - 500 GB drive - 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor - standard video card, nothing special- 20 Replies

Hi, please allow me to reintroduce myself! My name's Michael and I live in the Philippines. I used to go here for the downloads. I attempted to create stuff in Gmax but stopped abruptly (my computer wasn't up to snuff and so was my output.) Several years later, and with a better computer, I'm back, hahaha. I think I'll always love making cities and buildings. It's a part of me that kinda stayed in the background because everybody in my family was kinda into it. :kitty:

BAT - Troubleshooting & General Discussion
princeonacastle replied to Jasoncw's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Hello! Thanks to Sir Aaron for answering my first query. May I peruse this thread again? I am making a pool right now, so I made two elliptic splices attached below: one flat on the surface and one beneath that's tilted. I have two questions: will the depth be registered in the Lot Editor/Game, or will there be tiles overlapping? Lastly, how do I connect these two elliptic splices on the side so I can make a ring-like splice that I can manipulate? Thank you! -
Hey guys! Can I join this team? I plan to make castles and forts, among other things. My model inspirations come usually from the Meditteranean, but I don't mind east/west Europe or Asian influences. Thanks!

BAT - Troubleshooting & General Discussion

Thank you for replying! I'm using philippbo's BAT Essentials tutorial (). I'm just surprised because the render for his rectangular spline after he extrudes it and sets the amount to 0.3 is much thicker than mine, and his bottom bar shows grid = 1.0, even if we both have the same settings on Grid and Snap and everything on his first page. My 0.3 extrude looks like below (the boxes may not be as similar to philippbo's symmetry) Thank you -
BAT - Troubleshooting & General Discussion
princeonacastle replied to Jasoncw's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Hello! Please help me with my problem. It started when I installed my BAT along with the other necessary tools for creating ploppables. Whenever I open the BAT, I get Grid=16. Even if "My Units Setup" is under "Generic Units", even if my grid and conversion are set as attached below, the grid is still equals to 16. When I extrude my splines, they aren't 1x1 so the values indicated in tutorials don't match and the render is much thinner. How do I fix this? Please help, thanks... -
1. If you want to make castles, thers the Sim Medieval Team. They haven't been that active lately due to a lack of members and real life and such but you could change that 2. That sim Medival thread would be the place, just try and make a caslte post a picture of it in that thread and the BATers that browse the forums will see it when you do and give advice. Thanks! The team looks like they've done a lot of cool things. I'd love to work with them!

Hello! I've been here for two months now and I haven't been able to properly introduce myself! Not a very good display, and I apologize. So here I go, without further ado... My name is Michael, I'm 24 years old, and I live in Manila here in the Philippines. Not exactly the place for architectural marvel, which is probably why I love building and creating. I love finding inspiration from various local and foreign sources, and someday hope to make a difference here, where I am. My favorite Simtropolis things: 1. STEX - Gotta love the creations here! My current favorites are from Equinox, Glenni, Jeronij, SimGoober, Bixel, DustTrooper, Odainsaker, Cobb and Pegasus. 2. Tutorials - I found out how to make efficient cities, networks and BATs from this site. 3. Member demonstrations - I love the beauty and strategy some of the city layouts exude. My intended contributions: 1. Castles! I love castles. 2. Modern houses! Things I'd like to know more of: 1. How to join/form teams. I am interested in buildings and castles, ad I'd like to join a team with people who share my interests. 2. Where to call for BAT expert help. So, that's it for the meantime Thank you all very much!
