Remove intro and change resolution in Windows Vista
joshriddle replied to nicacin's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Originally posted by: mikeld Widescreen is always 1600 thus 1600* 900 is the resolution for the standard widescreen 16:9 not 1440 * 900 where do you get 1440 as the magical number for widescreen as you are 160 pixels short or length. You are also missing the affinity for 1 core processor and having high priority for simcity 4.quote> I don't run SC4 in Command Line like I used to... but when the game launches, I go into task manager (I run windowed mode) and set to high priority. Since this is a laptop, (I'm waiting for the money to get a desktop) I don't have to worry about setting the affinity to 1 core----however I did run it on 2 cores on another computer and didn't seem to have issues. But I was running through command line then. -

Oops, the description fell off the side of the page. Fixed now. This is a fantasy map called Gemstone Harbor. I consists of mainly a jagged coastline, few nice bays and coves. I like configurations like these. The map is 6x6 all large city tiles, however feel free to edit the config to your needs. You will need SC4 Mapper or TerraFormer to load this into the game. Links and instructions are in the readme. That sums it up. Thanks for looking! -
Using toll booths to solve a hot road problem
joshriddle replied to A Nonny Moose's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Originally posted by: z1 Actually, it's not that the Sims are cheap - they don't actually pay the tolls, the city just collects them. But the toll booths slow the Sims down, and if there's one thing the Sims hate, it's to be slowed down. So the toll booths can be used to make the Sims switch to another route, and collect some money in the process, although it's not the Sims who are paying that money.quote> True, and that is usually what they do, except Goldiva made some electronic tool booths and put them on the STEX, I think they aren't supposed to affect traffic any. But I don't use toll booths that much to begin with. I just use the moolah cheat or the Money Tree. -
My favorite slope mod is the BRF tunnel and slope mod, but that was when I had it, it caused the Unsuitable grade for construction to get way out of hand.

If you don't want to mess with mods or anything, that may make it hard to find people to join, considering not to many people like to play vanilla anymore. Including me. But if you only mean 1 or 2 people, then it might be fairly doable.

This would be extremely hard to do. We would have to plan out how many plugins everyone is to have, so that someone doesn't wind up with missing textures or brown boxes. Not to mention there aren't to many places to share files like that, you couldn't do it on the STEX, however places like MediaFire or Sourceforge would work. So long story short, it isn't as easy as you think. However other sites have collaborative regions you may be able to join.

This is Evergreen Colorado. 2 Miles from Suburbia (of Denver) There used to be nothing out there, now they are fixing to become a part of the suburbs. Right now they sit outside of town. Link And my current place, once again, suburbia. (Fort Worth) Link

Back to Firefox. I simply use Google as my hompeage. No iGoogle or anything. I set my picture on Google to the Rocky Mountains, where I lived when I was 2, before we moved to TX. I blurred my email adress, I wouldn't want some slimy marketing guy sending me a bunch of junk.

Cragged Bay-By Maps Factory First of all, I apologize for the delay in the Sydney, Australia map I promised, computer issues, have unfortunately hindered that, probably for awhile. Thanks for understanding. Let's cut to the chase. This is a fantasy map I made when I had nothing better to do, I usually make maps when I am bored. It is good for waterfront towns, however not to well for megacities, considering there is more water than land, and the entire east end slopes to a steep angle (around 35%), making this map a tad of a challenge. This map is 4x4 all large city tiles. Meaning the entire map is 16kmx16km You will need SC4 Mapper or TerraFormer to load this map into the game. The picture (ingame) included in this package uses the Realistic Water Mod as well as the Columbus Terrain Textures (low snowcapped level). Links and instructions are in the readme. Also an alternate download site is found here I guess that does it. Thanks for your view! -

Maps Factory Presents, Golden Lake Description/Introduction First of all, I apologize for the delay in the way of Sydney, Australia, I have been recently having computer issues that have set me back in that project. I would have made Sydney, however Mapper cannot run well on this thing, thanks for understanding. This is a fantasy map that features sloping hills to the south, and rather flat plains region-wide. It also features a large lake, on the east side of the map, This is fcr people who would like to build megacities or megalopolises. Enjoy! Edit- 4th map in a row! Stats This map is 5x5, all large city tiles. It renders easily in Mapper or Terraformer. This was made using Landscape Designer, just like most of my other maps. This map requires SC4 Mapper or Terraformer to work right. Links and instructions are in the readme. NOTE: An alternate download site can be found here That about does it. Thanks -
The SimCity 5 Thread (Formerly "Is SimCity 5 Ever Coming Out?").
joshriddle replied to xterra09's topic in City-Building Games
I think EA just f**ked up SimCity. You mean Tilted Mills? SimCity was just fine before that, so most of the blame has to go to Tilted Mills. Also is it necessary to use swear language on a public forum?
