The reporter obviously isn't too familiar about SimCity. So don't expect to know everything about an expansive game from an interview like that. And yeah, we still have a long way to go until Feb 2013, it's better that they don't spoil us.

I haven't found any good info yet regarding how exactly cities in a region are going to be laid out, or how seemless everything can be. For all we know, some or all of the empty parts can actually still be built on. But for now, we can only speculate. Here's a quote from Dan Moskowitz http://www.simtropol...transcript-r232 We could only assume that the game would have more building variation as the development progresses.

Agreed. Nothing official said yet about terraforming. Though there's a hint about it being included here: 0:55 (Resources as Map Layers). But really, we can only speculate for now. And by the looks of it, with the amount of simulation detail in the game, it seems like water particle physics won't be able to make it... But who knows?

They call it a reboot since it doesn't exactly follow the original sequence of the franchise in terms of graphics and gameplay. Instead, they combined different aspects from each of the main SC games. That's why they call the game simply "SimCity", and not "SimCity 5".

I wanted this game ever since CXL's development started.

Good to see that Synekism is still going at it. Thanks for sharing!

Interest for SC has considerably dwindled down in the past years. With the new SCS (SimCity Social ) going to be released soon, I'm hoping that will improve in a quirky kind of way. According to simcity.com, they will be releasing a recap of E3 next week. http://www.simcity.c...-bye-and-thanks

Disasters in SimCity (2013)
meowza replied to The_City_Builder's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
So disasters (and everything else that we do) will be permanent. This makes disasters truly feel like real disasters this time around. Question: Will we be able to turn off disasters, or atleast most of the big ones? -

Discussion about Always-On Connection to Origin
meowza replied to neurokirurgi's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
How are Spore and Darkspore servers holding up? Any issues with them? If ever SimCity's servers do close down, I'm really hoping Maxis does something about it. If not as a studio under EA, then atleast as private developers who genuinely love the franchise and its fanbase. -
Looks Like We Need to Start a Simtropolis Guild
meowza replied to tomfoolery_79's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I'd probably spend my time playing alone for the most part... But an arcology group project is hard to resist. -
The game can be pre-ordered at other online distributors. There will also be a physical copy. But the deluxe version is Origin exclusive, sadly..

You do realize that this isn't Youtube's comment section, don't you? He's Kip Katsarelis, the Lead Producer for the game, and a veteran of Maxis.

My assumption based on what I've seen so far: Roads = paths for traffic, power and water agents Powerlines = paths for power agents only Water Pipes = paths for water agents only All 3 types of paths are manually laid out.

Awards so far... Even guys from the White House took notice... That's cool. But please don't let them impose their political agendas on the game!

ORIGINE3 - How can we rectify this issue as a community?
meowza replied to Bipin's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Maybe Maxis could do something about this. -
Cause they are not yet finished with development. If you want more info, there lots of months-old articles scattered around the net.
-
There is no sense in trying to persuade haters.

Why does cartoonish equal bad?

Welcome (back?) Nextel97! --- http://www.simcity.com/en_US/blog/article/e3-2012-day-1-we-built-this-city Really now, do we have a rep there?

Barely any new info was dished out. Thanks to the mod who picked limp questions. Maxis' Reddit AMAA is way better...

I had a polished list of questions. Not one got through. I wonder who was moderating the chat... Here's the promo code: ORIGINE3 Use at your own risk...
