I don't know what else to say but OMG! What an amazing accomplishment. I just started playing the new release since I found out about the single player mode. I wish I hadn't waited. Freaking fantastic job. If I can get 10% that good I'll be happy. Thanks for sharing

What frustrates you about sim city 4
Ledhead replied to Pasta-power's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
A minor one is the complaint of MySims that the school is not close enough. I never listen to that. One woman complained the resort blocked her view of the ocean. I tried to burn her house down and could not. It caught fire but went out. I would have used more widespread disaster but did not want to lose my glorious city. Sure, I could have just moved her or bulldozed her house, but the wrath of God is so much better! I sent quite a few lightning bolts her way. Another complaint. Trying to dispose her bad view in my wrath, I tried to bomb her with the jet from Area 5.1 but could but could not get any good aim, and when the helicopter guns were not good (because I could not get a good aim) I said to heck with it. She can complain about the resort all she wantss. It's staying. I do like the vehicles though. I just wish you could see the inside view like in the Super Ninendo Sim City 2K. That was cool. -
Here is another idea. How about just having a Creation Mode where you are not involved in playing a money game and there are no freaking advisers. It would allow you to create and watch a city run without money being an object. Everything would be available for you to plop without any cost. I am sure there are several people who just like to create cities and not really play managing a budget. And I still like the idea of the city expanding, taking over smaller towns, rather than having a region 10 or 20 miles wide each way with 80 or more cities. I live in Kansas City and it is easily 20 or more miles North to South. It would also be nice to be able to terraform the entire region as a whole rather than have to use another program to do so, which I seem incapable of getting any program to work for me. I know you are in the "Getting it to work so a software company would be interested" stage, but I believe if enough people show interest on this forum, c'mon people this topic should have 100 pages already, then some company may be more willing to invest in the idea.

Why not to begin a city/town, send Land Surveyors out to survey the land to establish regional boundaries, say Township and Range lines, then those are broken down by Sections to establish City Boundaries. Just a thought and only because I am a Land Surveyor and that most all land west of the Mississippi was broken down that way to establish State boundaries and such. Then when your city needs to expand it can purchase more land so realism is there rather than having 80 or more small cities in a 20 or 40 mile radius. If you have any questions about Land Surveying, just ask, I'll oblige.

Here is a map I created using God Mode. It was a lot of work, but worth the effort. I have 5 cities started on the map, 1 being just industrial and 1 for trash disposal.

I looked into the Terraformer and it seems to be a lot of "you need to do this, have that, then do this". Every time I use a program where there is a lot of manipulation to get it to work I find it not very enjoyable. I suppose I could give it a try, but it will be awhile before I need to create another region. I appreciate the info though, thank you.

I have not tried the terraformer
