Hello, welcome to my city, St. John's. A creation from long ago, that I have completely redone from the ground up, I'll start with two region pictures (one satelite photo, and one transportation map) to let you familiarize yourself with this wonderful region. The beginning of my tour will start in the Outer-ring suburb of South Yancey. South Yancey was founded in 1956 and like many suburbs has exploded in growth recently. As the region grows at about 5,000-6,000 new residents each year, South Yancey has sprawled out to its boundries with it's closest neighbors. The yellow arrow points to where South Yancey is located on each of the respective maps. So let's start the tour of this small (14,000) suburb of St. John's to get a taste of what is going on in the region. Great shopping located in the Food Lion Plaza, includes an Eckerds Drug Store, Food Lion Supermart, BJ's Wholesale Club, Pet Store, Nail Salon, and Barbersop Ikon Office Solutions regional headquarters is located in South Yancey, in a brand new office tower. The McKenzie Office complex is also located in South Yancey, it is part of the South Yancey Technology Park. More of the South Yancey Technology Park...tenants include Yeungling Brewery, Yancey County National Bank, KSIM Radio, and various other small business's Now some various shots from around town...

Alright so I've had some city journals in the past, but this one is by far my best work. Through this I will divulge information of my newest (and what I think to be my best) city so far. The population right now hovers around 900,000 for the Greater Williamson Region, with Williamson being the largest city at just over 220,000 citizens. First we'll take a peak at the City of Williamson Welcome to Williamson, the largest city in the Williamson Region, home to around 220,000 citizens. We Williamsonians have plenty to be proud of. From our beautiful coastline to our championship sports teams theres plenty to see and do. First we'll take a look at downtown Williamson, the point in which the entire region revolves around. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Williamson-Feb.%2021,%20291117562975.JPG align=baseline> As you can see here we combine the old with the new to form a beautiful skyline that is visible for miles around the landscape. From the tops of the towers it overlooks the coastline. Our baseball stadium (Bancorp Ballpark) is home to the Williamson Wombats and leads the SimCoast Baseball league each year in attendance. Around the ballpark you'll find numerous bars, and shops. Although this isn't the most popular nightspot in the city. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Williamson-May.%201,%20291117563286.JPG align=baseline> A shot of the city during the twilight hours gives you a feel for our downtown area at night. There are over 3,000 residents within the loop and well over 40,000 employees who work within the confines of our downtown area. The density of the downtown core is one that many urban planners marvel at. The historic city hall is also lit up in the green and yellow garb which signifies a Wombats victory (each night when they have won the tower is lit up in a yellow and green). https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Williamson-Feb.%205,%20291117562854.JPG align=baseline> As far as culture and nightlife are concerned, look no farther than the Chinatown neighborhood in Williamson. Located just northeast of downtown you are able to find thousands of residents walking up and down the avenue each and every night looking for companionship, food, drink, and an all around good time. We also have a plan for Little Italy just north of downtown, we have a Chinese population of around 4,000 at this time, and they chose this location for their main residence and place of business. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Williamson-Mar.%2024,%20291117563144.JPG align=baseline> Located at the corner of East Avenue and Ellicott Street is The Square, built in 1903 as a salute to progress and freedom, the City of Williamson comishioned Robert Moses to design a traffic circle as well as a park in which the neighborhood residents could enjoy year round. The central fountain salutes the armed servicemen who origianlly settled north of what is now known as Williamson at Fort Harpours. Recent talks have been made about having East Avenue pass underneath the square as traffic has hit an all time high on the east avenue corridor. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Williamson-Mar.%2020,%20291117563121.JPG align=baseline> Located at the corner of East Avenue and Randolph Boulevard is the home to Engine #1 and Ladder #2 of the Williamson Fire Department. This firehouse was built in 1908 and has stood the same since its inception (with changing apparatus obviously) This was originally headquarters, but the fire department has since moved administration to the City hall structure. Now lets take a break away from the city, you want grit? industry? we've got that too! https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//South%20Inletia-Nov.%202,%20121117564098.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//South%20Inletia-Oct.%2030,%20121117564082.JPG align=baseline> To support a residential popluation of over 900,000 in the region many work in manufacturing and high technology jobs. The largest manufacturing employer in the Williamson Region is the Mobil Chemical facility located in South Inletia. At Mobil they employ over 7,500 currently and plan to add as the city continues to grow out. The refining plant and port facilities were recently refurbished and reconstructed after Mobil won a Valiance County Industrial Grant. At over 19.5 million the plant has more than payed its dividends in employment and output. OK so we've had enough of the hustle and bustle right? Well lets take a break. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//East%20Harpours-Oct.%208,%20061117563835.JPG align=baseline> Like Soccer? Well we have the Williamson Soccer Academy located off of Interstate 25 with 12 Soccer fields, including two stadiums, we host numerous national and international events each year, bring your kids! https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Langalia-Dec.%2024,%20061117563701.JPG align=baseline> Like shopping, but want someplace easy? Well the Gallery of Stores located off of Interstate 55 just East of Williamson may be what you are looking for. With more than 200 stores (and plenty of parking) we have created a suburban oasis of shopping. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Fort%20Harrison-Feb.%2016,%20171117563500.JPG align=baseline> Who doesn't like roller coasters, and go carts? Yea I figured you did. The Six Flags over Fort Harrison has a waterpark unlike any other, with a wavepool, waterslides, and much more its a great place to take the kids. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Fort%20Harrison-Feb.%2028,%20171117563535.JPG align=baseline> A DAY AT THE BEACH! Fort Harrison offers you plenty of hotel rooms along the beautiful white sandy beaches, located only 15 minutes from downtown. Fort Harrison has been a family favorite since 1941 when the first highway connected the beaches to Williamson. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Fort%20Harrison-Mar.%205,%20171117563562.JPG align=baseline> Don't like the beach? Thats OK. Fort Harrison has 2 championship 18 hole golf courses located only 3 minutes from the beach. Not a good golfer? Well brush up on your skills at the National Golf Driving Range. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Fort%20Harrison-Mar.%209,%20171117563575.JPG align=baseline> And the houses in Fort Harrison...it doesn't take long to figure out where the rich stay when they want to get out of the city! https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Alpina-Oct.%2018,%20021117563953.JPG align=baseline> Like the cold. Well drive an hour or so northeast Williamson and we have wintersports. Downhill Skiing, hunting, fishing, shopping. It's all here! https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Alpina-Oct.%2023,%20021117563977.JPG align=baseline> Just beautiful! Hope you come stop by soon, you're always welcome! Sincerely, https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//sig.JPG align=baseline> Bill Lang Jr. Mayor City of Williamson

I really like that downtown, and the row of shops. Has a very Northeastern feel to the first city.

HUGE UPDATE: In the year 2017 the State of Alaska voted 83-2 to move the state capital to the Williamson region as it had surpased Anchorage by over 2 times the number of residents (I know the capital is Juneau). As the new state capital was built much care was taken in placing each of the governmental structures. The cities of Williamson, and Fort Harrison as well as Valiance County officials took place in this historic move. Below is a highlight tour of the master planned center city, and it's beautiful architecture. Most dignitaries take the express train from the Reilly International Airport and they arrive at the beautiful railway terminal built as an exact replica to the terminal located in downtown Williamson. More of the beautiful rail station. When current residents realized that the city was to become the state capital they rushed to open new shops to cater to the influx of new residents. A beautiful streetscape is evident throughout the city, combining the old with the new. The Veterans memorial park is located east of Center Park and is the Williamson regions way of saying thanks to those that gave it all, for us. The Beautiful state capital building was designed by Arthur Brown and built just north of Center Park. Home to all the red tape and paperwork that has made state government famous. City Hall is a great example of mixing the old with the new, located in the shadow of the state capital, this building functions as the cities nervous center. Center Park was located with residents in mind. This 235,000 square foot park is located smack dab in the middle of all the government and business hub bub. Here residents and visitors alike are welcome to relax, play frisbee, football, soccer, whatever. Or catch one of the nightly outdoor performances by the Capital City Symphony Orchestra. The north end of the park is where the State Capital overshadows the rest of the center park area. City Hall, WCAP TV 10, Capital City College of Government, and the Lang Memorial Library are all in sight as well. Want to take a dip in the fountains? Some streetscape for ya! Overlooking the capital center, and protecting the highland of the city. Georgous at night I might add! Living in Capital City is reasonable compared to the national average, and they have beautiful row houses galore...I've got the keys to them right here, why don't you take a look inside. The Gazebo at Centennial Park is where many lovers go to gaze at the falls...yea gaze at the falls...pfff.... Take a gander for yourself A great streetscape showing the pure density in Capital City. The Capital Region Medical Center located at the left is the regional trauma center, and the Standard Insurance Arena is home to many conventions as well as the Capital City Fireblades Last but not least the Capital City P.D. Headquarters, they recently switched to White cruisers with Blue trim (a. la. NYPD) for a more up to date look, but there still are some black and whites out there. These guys put their lives on the line to protect our citizens each and every day, and they are compensated with average salary's and long days. Well thats it for today, not too much response to my last update, hopefully more for this one since its so much! -

I've still got about 25% of the actual land left to develop, there are a few good islands and a lot of water also. The good Islands I'll make into things like Catalina and vacation spots...more to come tonight! -
