Have you looked into getting another program called "SC4DatPacker"? It's another wonderful tool that will compress your folders even more. Then if you get the SC4 Start Up Manager, you can choose which folders you want for any city and that will also reduce the amount of un-needed custom content while playing also. Check into these wonderful and very useful tools..they will make game play so much more fun!

I haven't chimed into any discussion at ST for a long time but you know..this time I will make an exception and give my 2 cents again. I don't worry about dependencies..you know why? I have them all so when a new lot comes out..I don't have to download anything but the lot. I keep up to date with prop packs. It's really a simple task. BSC members have done everything they can to make "dependencies" as painless as possible by merging small prop packs into mega packs and including a "remove" list so you can have the "cleanitol" do the work for you. It's a wonderful little program that is very, very, easy to use. Once last thing,,Most BSC lots that are on the STEX are outdated and have been updated and uploaded to the Lex at SC4devotion. As Dedgren posted earlier, any issues with anything on the Lex, just send someone a PM and it will be looked into ASAP. So..complaining about dependencies doesn't do any good..there is always a simple solution to any problem with them.

If you are looking for any BSC dependencies..most of them have been updated into mega packs and uploaded on the LEX at sc4devotion.com. You will need to register on both the forums and the LEX. Hope this helps.

I'm having the same issue Barby. Very strange indeed. Thank you Mr B for the welcome. I shall upload my first set of pics this weekend. I am to assume when you speak of each city tile (4 for a town), you would only count the ones with actual residents?

Not to add to your stress Mr B but I have decided to jump into this CJ also. I will post my first pictures sometime this week. I think this will be fun and challenging.

This is simply my own opinion and thoughts on this subject from a custom content creators point of view. What I create is mine and mine alone. I choose where it's uploaded, I choose what is showcased etc etc. When I upload something, it's because I want to share that creation with the community but under no circumstance does that give anyone the right to tell me where it should be or how it should be showcased or updated. What Haljackey is doing is wrong. He is going against their wishes, updating without permission and giving false info. This is not his project, his creation and simply has no right to be doing so. Keep crapping on them, they will crap back sooner or later and I don't think anyone will like the end result of that. I would be livid if someone was doing this with my creations.

Uh oh....I hear the jingle jangle of a lock clamping down on this poor thread...and before it does. @ Zwabberaar: You may not like BSC but at least we know what the heck we are talking about and very proud of it!! If that is elitist..so be it.

Ripplejet is very correct. Missing textures NEVER give brown boxes. You are missing a dependency. This is why the readme is included in downloads so you know what other files you may need. My suggestion is to read the readme...go download the correct files and those brown boxes should disappear.

It's wonderful to see you back Frankie. Your project is off to a wonderful start. My best advise on the logs is that, you will have to use timed props to make it do what you want. PM me when you get to that point. I'm looking forward to watching the progress on this project.

I guess it's that time of the month again...everyone complaing about dependencies again....don't you ever get tired of it? It's pretty simple...if you don't like dealing with BSC and their dependency issue, then just move along....there are plenty of other custom content out there that has zero dependencies or better yet....download it, get the model and make your own darn lot. You wonder why we left??????????? This is exactly why.....

As Tage pointed out in the previous post, please download the manual and read it. It's very interesting and I learned a lot of things from it. Anyone not using the CAM, is missing out on a wonderful MOD and brand new way of playing SC4

I have not yet had the time to play the game with CAM installed yet but I did take the time to download each and every download needed. It took me all of 30 minutes to download them all. Most of them I already had so it wasn't that complicated. Now...organizing my plugin folder for the CAM...well....that may take the rest of the year to do...

Last report on CNN was that there could have been anywhere from 50-100 cars in the river but only reporting 3 deaths so far. I pray for all the family suffering in this tragedy and pray that the death toll doesn't rise anymore. It would be nice for any members from that area to let us know that they are OK...

You know..I just have to shake my head in total disbelief. The makers of this awesome Mod have worked for months on it, community members have tested it for months, it took months to package lots and they choose to make the announcement here that it's available, even upload the manual to the STEX, which they sure didn't have to do but they wanted to "share" it with the entire community!!!! The makers of this Mod are at a certain site and they do have a life outside of this game. They do not have the time, the energy nor should they have to monitor two sites. I just don't understand why some of you have to constantly have this conspiracy theory regarding SC4d and/or BSC. Thank you to all that do appreciate their efforts at bringing this Mod to the "entire" community and shame on those of you that can't get past your conspiracy theories. "

No offense taken Tonks..but I would like to say that I don't believe that any BSC member or any other members of ST has "ran" away from ST. Several members and members of BSC brought these same exact problems to ST Admin several months ago...nothing seemed to get any better so those members that wanted to, moved to SC4devotion and removed their creations from the STEX, which is their right since those creations belonged to them. As you can tell, BSC members have been gone a very long time now and these same types of concerns are being brought up and members are leaving for the same exact reasons. To me, that would be reason for concern. The biggest thing that hasn't changed in my opinion is same ole response from some of the ST staff..."good grief, not again" attitude. There has to be a reason why so many members bring this concern up and are leaving. I have no ill feelings nor am I angry with any ST member, I just choose to share my creations and spend most of free time at other sites that I feel more comfortable at. I am a very proud member of the BSC, proud member of SC4devotion and still a proud member of ST. As for repairing this "fracture" in the community, I think we need to learn how to be kind and accepting of ALL members, wether they belong to ST, SC4d, Simcities, etc or whatever team/group they belong to. Accept that just because this is the internet, people do have feelings and they do hurt when someone is bashing them in a written post. If the need to criticize someone is necessary, it can be done respectfully. So, as many members have said before me, the bottom line is.... RESPECT each other.

I remember when this site was fun, informative, hilarious and peaceful...those were the glory days..

Thank you Patriots for your courage, wisdom and awareness of this ongoing problem. It is the #1 reason why so many of the great Lotters, Batters and Modders have left this site. If more members were like you, I'm sure things would improve greatly. It's up to the community to make the change so I really hope that more members will follow your lead.
