  3. Hello all! After some time of working in my mega project, its time to show you what's done thus far. So far, the project is 60% complete with some areas still not developed. But first, the introduction! Once, Klang Valley is one of the most populated areas in Malaysia. In the year 2040, a deadly T-virus outbreak has spread across the world. In secret, the local government has chosen 200,000 in the KV to be evacuated and placed them in a new region that was recently discovered. Hence, the NKV is born! The reason why I named that map is because I'm a proud Malaysian and I'm living in KV (in real life), so I'm doing my best to make NKV live up to its name. As KV roadmaps are not always straight, NKV will follow suit, so yeah you will see quite a number of empty plazas/parks in all of my screenshots. After 15 years of developing, international aid started to come in to help rebuild the local community. Since the T-virus outbreak is over, more development can be focused now. Here are a few pictures in the development of a new metropolis. Traffic As you guessed it, the old KV is infamous for its traffic jam, and NKV is still struggling with it even with bus lines and metro lines. Bus lines Metro lines (1 of them is under construction from 1 edge of a city block to another.) Unemployment Rate My next update will be: - A closer look into the Central CBD and East CBD. - Chinatown - NKV Int'l Airport and Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Municipal Airport (or SAAS Municipal Airport) - Overview of my existing developments and future developments. I still got work to do lol! ... while I'm still working on the rest of my mega project. LOL! Current population : 579k residents, and rising as new developments will come in! Hope you guys like it!
  4. The New Klang Valley CJ

Update 1 Previously : - A short introduction in how the metropolis was set up. - Bus lines, metro lines, traffic and unemployment mapouts. For this update : - A look into Central CBD and East CBD - Chinatown - NKV Int'l Airport and SAAS Municipal Airport - Overview of existing and future development Lets have our first stop at the central CBD! Then we have the east CBD that is located directly east of central CBD and near the Cliffhanger Roadway. In this CBD area, the Tokyo City hall is being built to add some touch to the area. Next stop is Chinatown! Although its not as big as it was in the old KV, the community is still relatively happy to live there. Chinatown is located next to Central CBD and Pandan Town. Next, I'll introduce you to 2 airports, the NKV International Airport and SAAS Municipal Airport NKV Int'l Airport was opened north of NKV 5 years after the city was founded. Now that the T-virus outbreak is confirmed to be over, air travel between countries are now declared as safe. Although the tourism is still pretty low due to fears of outbreak repeat, airlines from other countries recently established started to flock into this airport. 6 years down the road, NKV Int'l Airport is getting slightly overcrowded. To solve the problem, the SAAS Municipal Airport was being built east of NKV to handle local and short international flights. SAAS Municipal Airport NKV Int'l Airport And finally, an overview on how my city development looks like. The central CBD is divided by a river, whereas the east CBD is located east and northeast of the metropolis. I am still thinking of naming the zone areas, and maybe will get on to it by the time my project is close to completion. (Including 3 megastructures I'm doing atm.) The Cliffhanger Roadway, as mentioned before, can be found circling around the lake. Some notes: 1. The SAAS Municipal Airport was my idea from 1 of the old airports in the real KV. It served as an international airport from 1960s until 1996 when KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) was completed to handle more flights. SAAS Int'l Airport Terminal 1 was eventually demolished, Terminal 2 was turned into a local immigration office, and Terminal 3 is now being used by Firefly to handle cheap local flights. 2. The real Chinatown in the KV is known as the Petaling Street, famous for shopping and food. Its located in the heart of the capital of Malaysia and it is a tourist attraction not to be missed by visitors! In my next update: - Our dear Sultan wants a bigger palace! - New developments south of the metropolis. Enjoy the update!
  5. The New Klang Valley CJ

Replies @ACEH : Thanks! Though, I'd prefer using Fraps to take my screenshots. @Damastius : I used Fraps to take screenshots. Its not only to record game videos only. @Jesse Swiss : Thank you! This is my 2nd CJ in the making. Update coming soon. Stay tuned!
  6. My first CJ--Platouenia

Wow, very, very impressive CJ you have there. I especially like how realistic the surburbia looks. Can't wait to see more.
  7. The unrealism of Cities xl

I had to agree. This is one reason why I stopped playing Cities XL and switched back to SC4. Why would someone be adding in leisures when some can be obtained from civic buildings in SC4? That is just a waste of money. Cities XL could've loads of potential if MC ever released it later this year instead of November last year. It came out without the public transportation system! Wish I had more challenge with CXL, but MC just made it a bad city-planning game.
  8. Whisper Hills

This is my first CJ, so please be nice. Whisper Hills Whisper Hills is founded in the river plains of America. It is abundant with a lot of resources, making it an ideal place to start constructing a city. It may start small (cause I switched back from all-out Expert Mode to slow-moving development), but thanks to its many resources, the town is now developing at a quick pace! It all started with a small booming town..... Soon after that, resources are coming in and people are getting interested in moving in Whisper Hills! The mayor decided to make a small expansion north of the town. The new development area is now booming rapidly. So rapid, that the mayor then decided to make a major development further north of the town! Here is the drawing plan that I have drawn out for the development. In the plan, the new office park will seat some of the exclusive offices together with some smaller offices and retail areas for new residents to shop nearby. The executives will be staying North and East of the new development, while the mid and low-wealth people will have their residence West of the new development. A brand new High-Tech Park, which will be named as Whispers High-Tech Park, will be placed Southwest of the development, together with a small expansion of the farms. In the meeting, the mayor proposed the plan to his advisors. Most of the advisors gave a go ahead to the development, but the Financial Advisor has given a warning that the budget may not be sufficient to fund the development. Therefore, it has been decided that the latest development will be done in stages. Stage 1 Stage 2 Stage 1 has been completed. Prior to that, Stage 2 of the latest development has now gone underway, and 60% of the area is now completed. Stage 3 will begin once the mayor collects enough money to fund the remainder of the development area. Thus, an overview of Whisper Hills~ By Day And by Night The old village of Whisper Hills, now known as Old Whisper, is located on the left side of the town. The latest development, which is still underway, is on the right side of the town. Once completed, the new area will be the new centre of Whisper Hills. The Jarren Industrial Park is located east of Old Whisper. (Close to the border) Hope you enjoy looking at the outside of Whisper Hills! Upcoming update : Stage 3 development and the inside of Whisper Hills!
  9. Whisper Hills

Skimbo & johannesut : I'll put that in mind. Today I'm covering the curent city frozen in time. The first part will cover the old and eastern side of the city.
  10. Whisper Hills

johannesut : Soon enough, once I solve some minor problems with my city especially my budget. YannickMtl : Thanks. I got this idea when I noticed that my starting farms are not doing so well.
  11. Haushinka City

Looks very promising and very detailic. Can't wait to see your future development on this metropolis.
  12. Whisper Hills

johannesut & Stef42 : Thanks, glad you guys like how the city grows. Today's update will be something that will put you on the seats a little. The development of Whisper Hills has progressed so well, but soon it has been derailed.... As the city is developed, so does the industrial lines at Jarrens Industrial Park. The city continues to grow..... 6 months later..... The Whisper Hills Independant E-Paper comes in. The mayor has called an emergency meeting inside the city halls. After 3 days of lengthy talks and negotiations with the farmers, the mayor decides to move the farming industry north of the city, near the Whisper Hills Municipal Airport. The short-term crisis may be over, but the long-term crisis is far from over. Prices on the local markets soared to twice the normal prices for the next 5 months until the first harvest comes in, and life in the city was pretty difficult.
  13. SC4 vs CitiesXL

IMO, Cities XL is worth buying. Sure it comes out incomplete (I mean, only bus as transit system?), but the freedom to make whatever squares you want, whatever curves, and whatever wealth is under you. This is something that SC4 can't make. The CXL graphics are awesome too. The only problem is whether MC would allow modded buildings like what SC4 does. Even though Cities XL came out incomplete, I know the reason why MC would slowly make this complete via online update. This is to avoid piracy, a good step in stamping down piracy business. In all, Cities XL is worth buying, go for it!
  14. Whisper Hills

jazyje & Damastius : Thanks, glad that you liked it. Jaybyrd05 : Oh really? But soon this city will no longer be "just a town".... Today I'll cover the Phase 3 of the first development, then the upcoming stories of a mayor. Phase 3 has started! Soon after Phase 3 starts, the Bureau Conference is about to be held. However, some financial officials would like to go by air so that they can have some time visiting the new town. It is now time to build a municipal airport, namely Whisper Hills Municipal Airport that serves local air services throught the States. After some discussion, it is decided that the municipal airport be built north of the town. Many of the Bureau Conference officials liked this place, so some of them decided to invest in offices and industries here at Whisper Hills! Thus, a new development plan is drawn out.... The new development is near completion! However, a new problem will start to appear...... Up Next! The new expansion of Whisper Hills has gone smoothly! However, the development is so focused upon, that something is nearly amissed by the mayor! What will happen? Hope you guys enjoyed it!
  15. Whisper Hills

jacqulina : Arigato! This is my first CJ so I'm really nervous doing this. Today's update is mostly viewing the development city of Whisper Hills, with 200,000 people calling Whisper Hills home. Part of the pictures I'm going to show are going to be teasers for the next 2 update! This is the Old Whisper (the old town of Whisper Hills) This is the teaser picture for the 4th Update. Guess what it is! This is the Whispers High-Tech Industrial Park This is the first major development of Whisper Hills, and "formerly" the centre of the town. The next few pictures are the latest development area I worked on for 2 hours. This is the teaser for the next update in the latest development area! And by night This is the Jarrens Industrial Park, which serves the city with Heavy Industry and Manufacturing Hope you guys enjoy the pictures!
  16. Greenborough

That looks very nice and developing city! Looking forward to see your future development of this place.
  17. Whisper Hills

Damastius : I just realized the small text in the picture after I have posted it. Ahehe..... Though I used Photobucket as my place to upload pictures. I'll fix that in a moment. Stef42 : Not really, I just used Paint and didn't change size in any way. Either I copied a link where its size is decreased, or Photobucket is just plain stupid in changing size. Whatever it is, I'll get it fixed. Also, thanks for the height bridge mod link. I'll definitely try this out. Edit : I've make the new one. The text still looks small but it looks slightly better now.
  18. Introduce Yourself Here!

Ohayo gozaimas! My name's Kwong, and I am a student looking to study Mathematics in due time. I currently live in Malaysia, but I'm looking forward to apply at a university in the UK. I started playing Sim City 3000 since 2004 when I was introduced by my sister. Since then, I moved on playing Sim City 4, Rush Hour expansion, Societies, and the latest Cities XL. I was always a careless city planner, really! But as I moved on, I learnt more about a lot of things that these games have to offer. I haven't thought of running a CJ here, cause most of my Sim City 4 cities are pretty awful-looking (I know, call me a bad city planner, but hey I'm learning!). Cities XL which supports curved roads has given me an edge in making a more realistic city. In the end, I have started my first CJ called Whisper Hills. You can find it here. I do play online games, but I also like all kinds of Japanese puzzles. At the same time, I'm a fan of some Korean songs. I found this site last year since I keep getting boring buildings, and it is a great site indeed! I've downloaded a couple of mods and buildings, and these made my SC4 cities look much diverse!
