SimCity 4 Crashes with Exception (Access Violation Error)
TheGTAGod replied to Cougar2004's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I have more than 100 exception reports ( not kidding ) in Vista, but when I used to play Simcity 4 in XP less than 10 of these documents appeared. Strange right? -
Originally posted by: DocRorlach You did download the "special" version I linked in my previous response? That on does not run an administrator check thus the same error cannot occur. If you are getting a different error that we need to know the specifics. BTW: during the setup, were you prompted to download .NET 3.5? Or is that already on your machine? quote> I downloaded the special version and I still get the same error and I wasn't prompted to download .NET 3.5. BTW It comes with .Net 3.5 SP1

Originally posted by: DocRorlach The error message clearly indicates that the installation did not go right: the DAO.DLL, required for the operation of the database, did not install. I suggest to uninstall and get a fresh download, just in case, then reinstall. The DLL will end up in the Program Files/eu-contractor folder. quote> Your solution did not work, I'm sorry for the SC4 Organisor.
