Oh, good. I notice Wrigley Square in the overhead shot in your last post. It should be at the northwest corner of the park, though.

Call the interchange an oblique T. Oblique means somewhere between parallel and perpendicular. T is self-explanatory. And guys, Builderman is BATting it already.

Do you mean pathfinding, or path writing? If you want to do Path writing, just wait until qurlix comes out with his beta of XPath. It should only be a few days or so. Oh, and if you're interested in the model, I can send it to you. Just PM me with your plans.

How did you do the photoshopping? Just fiddle with the hue to give it a slightly yellow cast? Oh, and I've got several new BATs on the STEX for you to check out, several of them from the Chicago area. Yeah, okay, they're pretty much all based on things in the Chicago area. Just check it out.

Building Log: World Trade Center (Pre-9/11)
ardecila replied to rubik3's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
rubik: Everything looks incredible. I can't comprehend the amount of work you must have put in on this (or the render times, LOL!). I do have one issue, though. On the pedestrian bridge, the corners are too rounded, and the shading makes it look even more so. I believe they should only be beveled once (well, actually chamfered once, since this is gmax). -

kd5 - I saw that show too! Small world. I thought the Sky Tower looked ugly, though. No, the BAT wouldn't be that hard to do, except for the little plateau-perimeter monorails and the roof-parks of the plateaus. BTW: What did you think of that 3-in-1 they showed at the end? Ugly as sin, in my opinion. Does anyone know what the building behind the Crossland is? I'm guessing it's a museum, and based on the textures, I'm also guessing it's a Maxis building. -
PM Toroca. He'll set you up with a spot in the mods section.

Turning Lanes - Feedback and Testing
ardecila replied to the7trumpets's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
That's weird. Except for the Southwest, which is weird, I thought most of America had turn-lanes like we do here (above description). Oh well. I can always replace the textures once the modd is released to suit my preferences. -
budweiserdude - Yeah. They had to airlift one of those monsters onto the roof of my school. The cool thing about the school is that nearly every window in the place looks out onto a roof with junk on it, so I get plenty of ideas for BATting.

Turning Lanes - Feedback and Testing
ardecila replied to the7trumpets's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
I dunno about the UK, but here in America, we rarely have arrows for the middle straight-traveling lane. People just know that it's a through lane. Sometimes, there isn't a left-turn arrow, either. Also, there's usually only one row of arrows. -
All you have to do is change the tabletop texture so it doesn't look like a shadow of the window. Nevermind on the hexagonal thing. I though it was supposed to be a peak . .

Well, you need to get a better texture for the factory walls. Other than that, it looks great! Oh, and I'd recommend changing the shape of the tank ramp entrances. It looks oddly Roman, which doesn't go well with the industrial stuff. Oh, and the guard tower in-game on the Area 5.1 lot looks just like yours.

Because all the custom content and all the transit and such things we have are designed to work with a temperate climate region, that's why. Really. If you get this working properly, it could work out really great.

SG - The window shadows on that restaurant floor look a little weird . . You're doing it with a texture, right? You should also scale up the hexagonal dome. It looks flat from the SC4 perspective. Other, than that, w00t! More tall hotels!

ZipZapZop: If you have Photoshop, you can change the color by going to Image>Adjust>Hue/Saturation/Brightness.

No; what I meant when I said they couldn't change altitudes is the buildings' entrance heights. Unless the buildings are all BATted with entrances on relatively the same level, it'll look kind of weird.
-
That station would actually be possible, with the proper LOD and TE/pathing work. You could even make the track-split drive-thru-able (but the switch on the lower platform would not be).
-
You don't need to write path files, as long as you don't want to change the width or anything. You just need to copy the existing road/street ones and change their instance numbers to match your s3d/exemplar.
-
You could make cars fly. The downside is that, basically, the way to do it is lift the model used for each automata above the ground plane. This means that the car will only float above the roads, and it will go up when the ground goes up. It also can't change altitudes. Now, I don't know enough about UDI vehicles to say definitely whether airplanes can be set as a commute transit type or not. If they can, maybe we can add pathfinding code to it and then designate a few car models as airplanes and make them fly. Anyway, great job on the Jetson BATs. Why don't you see if you can model a Jetsons bubble car? The AEGON looks great. Could you send me your model file? I'd be happy to try to fix the lattice issue.
