That's great to hear, Adam. We need as many Chicago BATters as we can get! It's good that you're doing the CNA building, for 2 reasons. 1, it's just a box, so it should be pretty easy for a beginner. 2, the CNA building is essential to a recreation of Chicago, mainly because its red color makes it stick out like a sore thumb. Good luck! I also have some more Chicago BATs to share, as well as some other cool stuff that technically aren't BATs.

You can download that Ironclad Dock here: http://tokitoko.hp.infoseek.co.jp/dock01.zip I'll find some creative way to use that warehouse for sure. Reminds me of New York's old piers! -
Date: 5/8/2005 12:18:33 PM Author: Kaze Progressa Excellent updates again... where can I get the generic small station, as used in Cratton and elsewhere? That would find lots of use in my cities.quote> Right here: SNR Suburban Station FF BATted it himself.

Date: 5/7/2005 8:18:57 PM Author: N_O_Body Saturday, May 07, 2005 19:38:03 EDT] @The Terminator: Welcome back, TT. Here, take a break and have some nice prime rib. It's the special today.quote> I laughed so hard at that... LOL. Thursday was a great day, albeit mostly for material reasons. My H320 mp3 player, which I had waited months to get (I ordered it last weekend) finally came. Not only that, but I had a Chipotle burrito for dinner, to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. I love the Chipotle! @Leech - 1/2 apothem x perimeter! I'm also doing Geometry I this year. It's the first math class in my life that I've actually excelled, or even done well, at! Anyways, nothing really much to report on. I wish you all a cheerful weekend! -

Date: 5/4/2005 6:01:42 PM Author: Starmanw40 Hey Tonkso, I'm from Allenstown, NH. Just south of Concord, NH. I wondered if you are from Portsmouth, NH? Just Curious. And wonder if there's anyone else from my state of NH? quote> If you read the sig carefully, you'll see that he lives in the original Portsmouth, in the UK. @Neil_Johnson - ploppable Residentials don't work properly. The same trick that lets you make ploppable Commercial/Industrial buildings doesn't work for Residential. @Peyres - From Canary Wharf, several buildings have been made. DuskTrooper made the main tower, but it wasn't release-quality. EmergentFungus was working on the citigroup building. Morifari made the subway station. Also see DuskTrooper's Darcko lot.

Date: 5/2/2005 11:05:48 AM Author: vidioman That's about it for my weekend. May the person who chooses what song we listen to before O Canada every day rot in hell (they chose 'Funky Town' today..)quote> Heehee. We have the same thing, except slightly different. Two songs before the Pledge. I've never found out who chooses the songs. Today, it was Ashlee Simpson and Britney Spears for the two songs. The Britney wasn't that bad, but the Ashlee was horrible. ! Autochef, I'd like an 8 oz. steak wrapped in bacon, along with an iced tea. (I eat steak so rarely, I have to savor the moment. Maybe once every 2/3 years.) -
1st of all - what's with the diagonal streets? Were you just trying to incite discussion, Andreas? Two words: me wantee. Anyways, great trees, CycleDogg! I'm especially having fun with the Scrub Brush (and I don't mean the one in my sink!). I can finally make realistic prairie/meadow areas. I didn't even know most of those bush props existed!

TT - Sorry to hear about that. I have similar experiences. I live in the richest (second-richest?) area of Chicagoland. It's kind of mind-boggling to be waiting for a ride from your mom after practice and watching other kids getting picked up in Bentleys. I don't despair, though. A lot of my friends are, in fact, rich. (I'm not exactly poor, but nowhere near a lot of my classmates.) This world works because people show respect for each other, no matter how crap-faced you might think they are. Try to make the best of your situation. Besides, prime rib is incredible! BTW - I hope you don't hate me because my s/n starts with the same syllable as your town. -

Date: 4/28/2005 11:42:10 PM Author: N_O_Body @ardecila: ARD! A 'girl friend'? You mean you want to have a 'relationship'? How old are you? quote> Nice ard! Well, I'm not thinking of anything too serious. I just wish she thought of me as more than just a friend. In fact, I don't even want a serious relationship right now. Anyways, we ran the mile in gym class today. I did it pretty quickly, and actually had fun doing it. I've only done it once before in my life (2nd-grade) and in that, I was FAR behind everyone else. So I feel sorta vindicated, since I've finally beaten one of my shortcomings. -

Yeah, Joe, I'm still here. Apparently vid is going all out and nearly spamming the thread. Keeping in the Cheers vein, I should come in here and relate my problems. I'm not a big fan of doing that, but I've got a rather big one. There's this girl I know. We're sorta friends, good terms and all that, but she won't think of me as anything more than that. I want to finally be able to have a girlfriend - and I really like her. I'm not sure what my next step should be, though. Any suggestions? *orders a bratwurst w/mustard and a Dr. Slice* -
Can Someone Make A new set briges?

Marrast is making lots that function like bridges. He made a thread in the BAT forum, if you wanna see. -
Date: 4/28/2005 3:36:57 PM Author: overlordr1 A few requests no one has made yet: #1 - A yard for piggyback trains - Trailer On FlatCar / Container On FlatCar, coplete with gantry crane and road access (like an old-style 'Team Track' to fellow trainheads). #2 - A train mod depicting several types of piggyback trains: Trailer On Flat Car, Double-Stack container style, maybe even the less-common 'Road Railer' type. #3 - It sound simple, so I don't know why no one has done it: A plain gravel (or paved) lot which will flatten the terrain it is on, and make that nice wall if the adjacent terrain is higher (Like most of the park and rail station lots do already). This would look good in rail and highway cuts, at the sides. A lot which does this and allows road construction on it would be even better, but I know the limitations of the game. #4 - I'm sure this one has been requested, but here goes -- An angled T-Intersection between one-way road and regular road, for use in building of highway on-ramps. And finally: I hate how difficult making angled roads is in the game. Is there any way of making a mod which would allow you to set two points and draw a road (or rail) between them (at other than basic 45' angle)? Thanks for your patience!quote> #1/2 is a lot request, not a modd request. Sounds interesting, though. #3 can be done easily if you download the Lot Editor and learn the foundation settings. #4 is kind of difficult to understand - could you elaborate? #5 is impossible - the game doesn't recognize other slope angles.

Chicago, Illinois (a handmade replica of the real city)

Woah! Easy, there! I always enjoy getting compliments. As a stand-in for the Merchandise Mart, try the Buffalo City Hall on the STEX. It looks pretty close if you plop it facing away from the river. afuegosky - what the hell? I've seen that shirt before, but never so randomly! -

Date: 4/26/2005 7:19:34 PM Author: adambrown14ADAM14 I do wish that someone would start making some more Chicago BAT's again though. There are just too many original buildings in Chi-town to use look-a-likes for all of them.quote> Ask and ye shall receive. -
Date: 4/15/2005 12:59:08 PM Author: ardecila Well, seeing as how no one is posting here.. I my as well post that project. This is the United States Post Office in Chicago, IL. It is currently unused (abandoned), but at the time it was built, it was the world's largest post office. The lot will be 6x14, and it will allow a ground highway through it. The lot is also significant because it is the first split building for johnnie2's Split Building Initiative. Larger view of Post Office quote>
