  1. BATs Currently in Progress

Ye I love the castle! Good job on the crumbling wall inside the compound!
  2. Getting a BAT to show in game

Did the preview render of your bat show up with the correct textures? Every time I open a bat, I need to reload all jpg's into the textures, or they won't be rendered. It's a very silly and time consuming bug to gmax
  3. Nightwindow Textures

very interesting, thanks for this! I'll need textures like these in my next bat!
  4. Francis90 BAT showcase

What quality did you preview it? Usually thin lines won't show up in draft or low quality. In higher quality previews, they do. I found that lines need to be at least 0,2 meter in diameter (in gmax) to show up in renders. Depending on how much your texture shrinks, I'd make em about 3 pixels wide in your texture.
  5. project Delftse poort - Rotterdam

Guys, what about a themed version when I'm finished?
  6. project Delftse poort - Rotterdam

I used a lens correction on the image to make it look more isometric near the floor. In that way, the perspective change is less noticed I hoped. I made it reflect with a little darker surface too. Too bad I can't find a good overview photo of the Kruisplein that is taken from this building. I did find a view from the building that looks in the other direction. In it are the old Luxor theatre and City hall. I don't like the idea of reflecting maxis buildings in this hard work as the tutorial indicated. I hope to approach the isometric view of SC4 with a picture from a reflection with a photo by adjusting the lens, maybe it works Or this one???

    1x1! I love that size, nice! 1337//1337 :D
  8. project Delftse poort - Rotterdam

I'm experimenting a little with reflections on the side of the building. I think this will be the hardest challenge in making this bat good looking. This is my first shot at a reflection. It's made up from a picture of the actual view from the tower. It features the text 'luxor' (mirrored) in the top right section. I really don't have a clue if this approach is gonna get me somewhere, please comment!

Hi there, I read in the comments you would like an animated version of the dutch Wipmolen. Well, here it is! I made it with BAB, available from the LEX. It's quite hard to do this but basically it replaces the BAT render engine with one that exports to an animation. Be aware that animations have severe limitations to their size if you plan to make one yourself. It's my first moving bat so don't expect it to be perfect ;-) Because windmills use sails when they move I didn't replace the old file. The lot and orientation of the mill is different so you can place the two types next to each other. Has the same stats and function as the other wipmolen. 2x2 Water pump 1000 water supplied 250 plop cost 50 budget 150 bulldoze cost
