Pre-Orders / Activation Key / Download Issues

I bought the hard copy from the games shop. When I tried to activate, the cd key was rejected (not valid or in use). I tried contacting Monte Cristo but they don't reply to me! Anyone else having these troubles? -

This will be the last bat from me for some time, thanks for all those nice comments Zierikzee was a city of importance in the middle ages. After the city was sieged for some time in the 14th century, the construction of massive defensive works was ordered. Upon completion, the city had become a stronghold not easy to conquer. Soon after completion however, the city was taken by Albrecht of Saxony. He ordered the reconstruction of some of the gates. Out of 7 original gates, 3 still stand to this date. During the 80-year war, the defensive works played an important role in the strategy of the commanders. The city's defensive works were so impressive, they had to burn and loot the countryside first before the city would succumb. After the neighbouring town of Brouwershaven was sacked, the city was once again conquered by the spanish general Mondragon. His sword can still be seen on top of the Noordhavenpoort. The Noordhavenpoort was constructed in the 14th century in the Dutch city of Zierikzee. Originally, it looked much like the Zuidhavenpoort. It was rebuilt by Albrecht from Saxony however, who gave it it's current shape. The facades on the front are from the 16th century. The numbers 1559 is still readable on them. It features the city herald, and the legendary sword of Mondragon on top of the left building. The gate has holes for throwing hot tar on attackers, holes for cannons, muskets and peek holes. It was built in a half round shape to prevent enemies from shooting directly into the town. It overlooked the harbor entrance, standing next to the Zuidhavenpoort. LM 2x3 - 60.000 plop cost - 50 budget - 10.000 demolish cost. The other gates: Nobelpoort Zuidhavenpoort For those of you who have downloaded the other two gates before: I did some updates on both models. More bats from Zeeland: 9 Village houses 11 Rural cottages Stellingmolen edit: fixed a minor glitch in the night time model -

Gogman: those bats look very good actually! (maybe the dome is indeed a little too much ;-) ) I am no architect either, and as much an amateur as you. My only experience was in cinema 4d before. It took me some time to figure out the modelling in gmax, but it is something you can learn! Too bad the judgements on the stex are so severe! But don't let this scare you to give it a try People are spoiled with uploads from guys that have years of experience in batting (no offense guys) ;-) So all your creations are compared to that professional stuff If you look at the models in the early days of simtropolis, it becomes clear the uploads were judged more mildly back then. Please give it a try, once you learn the basics of gmax it becomes fun...

The problem is by no means caused by the game itself, so don't go through the trouble of de-installing and installing again BAT has many bugs indeed but there won't be a new version I think When I have this persisting trouble, I select all the parts of the building and then press 'save selected'. I open the saved building after, and export it to sc4model. Remember what jasoncw said, If you export the building many times (to fix the lighting) you need to repeat this procedure and 'save selected' again. Is your lighting problem related to spotlights/omnilights or night windows?

That is a very good improvement Hexy! Here are some sneak previews for the noordhavenpoort, the next city gate I'm making:

After the neighbouring town of Brouwershaven was sacked, the city was once again conquered by the spanish general Mondragon. His sword can still be seen on top of the Noordhavenpoort. The Nobelpoort stands on the land side of the Dutch city Zierikzee. It features two major towers with holes for muskets and cannons. The two towers are said to have been old ladies with pointy hats who were put under a magic spell. This is the reason why each tower has a different number of ribs on the roof. LM 2x5 - 60.000 plop cost - 50 budget - 10.000 demolish cost. The other gates: Noordhavenpoort Zuidhavenpoort More bats from Zeeland: 9 Village houses 11 Rural cottages Stellingmolen
